This book is amazing. The art and architecture were the most inspiring thing I have seen or read in my entire life. Joe Valerio is one hell of an architect and if I were a large, up-and-coming corporation looking for a way to jump into the fast lane, I would say that having a building by Mr. Valerio would be #1 on my list.

Eye Witness Review
This book describes the last bombing mission by the B-29's of the 315th wing of the 20th Air Force. This is an important piece of history mainly because this mission took place after the 2nd A bomb was dropped . . . the time most historians claimed the war with Japan ended. The research that was done to write this book was done by Jim Smith, who was on this mission and knew there was more to it than just another raid on Japan's oil refineries. What came out of the research and is presented in this book is a story so important that it had to be told. What might have happened if this mission had not been flown could have cost the lives of millions of Americans and Japanese. In addition to being a good and exciting story, this is history that has not been reported before in anywhere near as much detail and with as much accuracy. I flew this mission also and have waited nearly 60 years for this story to be told. It is done well and with a high concern for accuracy by Smith and McConnell. Read it if you care anything about history as it really happened.

A novel, but true
What a great book! The author makes this small piece of history read as a fiction novel. It gives the detailed account of a night bomber group and the powerbrokers of the Japanese Empire. The stories, very well researched and written, never collide; yet parallel to weave a splendid story. The action is tense and faced paced, and you will not be able to put it down. The authors cite many other works on my bookshelves that I am more eager to read. The stories of the night modified B-29B, flying from Guam points the roots of US strategic air power. The story of the inner turmoil of Japan's surrender are also well done and cited. The book covers (for me) new ground on the use and policy of the decision to drop the atomic bombs. The third story told, the US fear of a prolonged campaign on the Japanese home islands, and the use of more atomic weapons was very interesting. This book is for serious and casual history reader packs an atomic punch!

Masterful summation of the Christian faith
I read lots of books on the Christian faith, but never before have I encountered one that pulls the faith's themes together into one powerful summation quite like this book does. The new covenant truly is the heart of our faith and this book uses simple, sometimes passionate language to bring the new covenant into focus. In particular, I was very impressed with the book's extensive and persuasive use of Scripture as the foundation for its message. If you want to gain a better and deeper understanding of your faith and make Christ truly alive in your life, then read this book! I am very glad that I did.

The Secret of the Lost Covenant
The best book on hesed/Covenant I've ever read! Smith does the best job I've ever seen of illuminating this principle as it relates to the New Covenant and our relationship with Jesus Christ. One of the few books I've ever read where my relationship with God improved instantaneously!

Spell bounding, captivating, thrilling.
I picked up this book, didn't sleep, eat, or anything until I finished the entire thing! Start's love of salt will change your diet forever.

Computer techno-thriller
If you consider yourself a decent computer programmer, you will probably identify with Start Rousseau, the hero of this novel (and you probably already identify yourself with Dilbert). This book is quite advanced for its age - it was published much before the the big-bang of Cyberspace. Well, here's this geek who is puts forth a theory - called the Key of Lucifer - about a potential weak link in the Defense Department computer networks - and demonstrates it when challenged. The Pentagon is outraged and wants his blood. So does the KGB - but they want his formula first.

No Mage ST should be without it
This book is fundamental in running a Mage chronicle. It gives plenty of background and setting information for those interested in that sort of thing. As any storytelling book, it gives tips and tried-and-true methods for storytelling. Additionally, there is a chapter dedicated to the explanation of philosophy, which is important because of Mage's philosophical nature. Also, the book further explains various systems like Paradox and Resonance and gives different options to change them to your liking. Moreover, the book gives an explanation of Seekings according to Essence types. All in all, the book is essential in fine-tuning and running any Mage chronicle.

Invaluable!
This is probably the most invaluable resource for any mage player or storyteller. It provides alternate rules for both magic and paradox and how to apply mage to alternate historical/fantasy settings. In terms of usability, it is indispensible and probably much better than the Guide to the Traditions.

Good Magic
The Magic Handbook is a bit short on how to present magic, but the effects presented are very good. Many principles used by professional magicians are provided here, and all can be made fairly simply with easy to find materials. Recommended.

Lots of intresting magic tricks that are fun to do.
This book is very inspiring, and has helped me do a lot of magic tricks. I use a lot of it's tricks when I preform, and no one has ever figured them out. It is an excellent book and I think that all kids who want to be magicians will love it. It is also good for parents who want to impress their kids, but don't know how to. All in all, I think this is an A+ book

funny but not for most of you
Purdy's novel "Malcolm" is a humorous journey about a young boy found by an astrologer on a park bench. The story is writtem mainly through Malcolm's interaction with the characters he meets through the astrologer (Mr. Cox). But enough plot summery, from the opening paragraphs one sees Purdy's gift for a sort of heightened clarity that he writes with, which, when pulled together with the dialog between the rather inept and hilarious characters offers a unique experience.
The novel is written in a more naturalist tone (think a modern Dickens) but don't let that fool you, Purdy is a gifted writer, with an amazing imagination, and excelent sense of irony. the reason i say it is not for all of you is that if you are looking for "ground-breaking" or "experimental" liturature, or if you find you get bored when not being assulted by an author you shouldn't buy it. But for those with an open mind i believe you shall enjoy it as well as nearly all of Purdy's work.

A Classic
One of the most poised yet hilarious books I have ever read. A shame the man has never received the literary recognition he deserves.

Best book on color in any medium.
Very good use natural material (flowers, leaves, branches, etc.) to illustrate color combinations that go well in the landscape. Much better representation of color with photographic swatches of real material instead of printed color representation. From a gardener or horticultural view a real plus. Fun just to leaf through.

Guide to practical use of color in flower garden design
This book really helped me to design flower gardens well. It has color theory and practical uses for all seasons. It uses both flowers and foliage and has some gorgeous combinations I would n't have tried. It is most useful for someone who knows the flowers that grow in their area and can create a working scheme with those flowers mimicking the color scheme in the book.

Malcolm Muggeridge : a biography
Published in Unknown Binding by Hodder & Stoughton ()
Author: Gregory Wolfe
Amazon base price: $
Used price: $59.90
Average review score:

What made Muggeridge tick?
What an incredible mind! Muggeridge's depth of vision is laid before us, his words powerfully used. It would be accurate to say that he "licked the earth" for most of his life and we are given convictingly honest insight into how this part of his life played out. The Lord had something else in mind and it was a long, slow process for Muggeridge to finally come to Christian faith. Bogged down a bit in the middle for my taste, but such a satisfactory read; couldn't put it down for long.

Reviews from the Publisher
Malcom Muggeridge (1903-1990), British writer and social critic, was one of the most brilliant controversialists and media personalities of his generation. This new biography draws on unpublished diaries, correspondence, interviews, and Muggeridge's prolific writings to chronicle the long and turbulent life of this legendary figure.

"Wolfe's book is bound to become the definitive biography of Muggeridge." Publisher's Weekly

"Wolfe has entered his subject's life in the most unobtrusive and salutary way, by adopting the attitude of a servant, so that the reader rides at the turbulent center of one of the most quixotic, troubled, and fascinating figures of twentieth-century Christendom. This biography is both an inspiration and a call to repentance to any who think they can exist as 'carnal' Christians. There's hardly anything Muggeridge didn't try until the Lord laid him low. Wolfe's work will be the standard for Muggeridge studies for years to come." Larry Wiowode, author of Poppa John
