Forget the doomsdayers - let's rejoice!
Many futurist, spiritually-based writers seem to find reasons why the future is disastrous and find ancient-derived and channeled insights to justify their pessimism. Leslie and Hugh, on the other hand, using wit, extraordinary insight and intuition, well developed reasoning powers, and some of the same information sources, show the extraordinary future that lays ahead for us. All we need to do is claim it. A well written, optimistic and joyous handbook that does and extraordinary job of boiling down complex and sometimes-difficult-to-understand scientific and metaphysical subject matter into easy and entertaining reading. It is medicine and inspiration for all on a self-discovery journey.

The End of the World (a handbook for the practical idealist)
If you have, even for a moment, ever thought about how quickly things around us are changing in the world we live in, then you definitely want to dig into this thought provoking...and extremely timely book. Will it scare you? It may. Will it disturb you? Perhaps. Will it empower you? Most definitely! The End of the World mixes humor with well thought out cultural research, it blends a refreshing spiritual optimism inot a subject that has otherwise been described by calamity, disaster and catastrophe. It's a fantastic book for anyone looking to shed some spiritual light onto the perceived darkness of the 'end times.'

For 17th century dancers
To my fellow reader I give my heartly welcome.

John Playford is one of the most know dance teacher all times. So this book is a must to everyone who is starting or has danced historical dances. Music is no problem if you know how to play violin or recorder, because there are notes for every dance.

If you don't know how to play that isn't a problem at all. In the internet you can find freely copyable music to almost every dance.

English country dances are easy and fun to dance. And you have to use your head in these dances that is very different to modern discodancing. So buy the book, start to dance it keeps dementia away.

Happy dancing.

Excellent usable guide to 17th century dance
The English Dancing Master has been most useful to our theater company in staging authentic ancient dance. The single line of melody in standard music notation is easy for musicians to use. The dance instructions are clear and make it easy for a small group to learn the dance. The dances are beautiful, and there is a wide variety of styles and partnering.

A True View of the Faeries
It is a breath of fresh air to read a book written by someone with an obvious knowledge of and respect for the Faeries, as opposed to the common view in most books today. Mynne shows the connection between faerie and UFO sightings, describes the Faerie universe and four great seers, then devotes the rest of the book to amazing guided meditations and the complete Ballad and Romance of Thomas the Rhymer. A must-have for those who feel a connection with the Fae.

The Faerie Way, by Hugh Mynne is Wonderful!
This book is great. I couldn't put it down until I had read it from cover to cover! This is good if you want to read from a SINCERE author on the Fae. It is evident from his writings that Hugh has a deep admiration & respect for the Fae. I am happy to say that I can recommend this book. I am very pleased! I can see why it was bought up so quickly. I hope it goes to reprint soon. I wanted to buy a copy for some friends. Thank you Hugh, for a fascinating book.

Failure of the Public Trust
Published in Paperback by McCabe Publishing (14 September, 1999)
Authors: John Clarke, Patrick Knowlton, and Hugh Turley
Amazon base price: $28.00

Vincent Foster
Vincent Foster was murdered. That day on July 20, 1993, two men got out of a vehicle. There were a few other men there also. What did those men want so bad that day? That man kept on insisting that he didn't have it. Have what? What was so important that those men had to kill a man? To this day, I still would like to know what they were looking for. I think about it almost daily, wondering what the reason. That man that got shot that day, did not have a chance. It was obvious, he was set-up.

Shocking Murder Cover-up Definitively Exposed
'Patrick (Knowlton) did nothing to deserve the outrageous treatment he received at the hands of the OIC (Office of Independent Counsel) and its FBI agents. He did nothing to deserve being yanked into this FBI debacle, having his life turned upside down, and having to endure this fight for his reputation. Patrick's only 'crime' was reporting to the authorities what he had seen at Fort Marcy Park, consistent with his understanding of his duties as a good citizen.' (From the preface of 'Failure of the Public Trust, FBI Cover-up.com')

What Knowlton saw at about 4:30 pm, July 20, 1993, were all the cars that were in Fort Marcy's parking lot at the time, and none of them matched the photographs of White House Deputy Counsel Vincent W. Foster's car that were shown to him later by FBI agents. Meanwhile, Foster was lying dead in the back of the park. That simple fact is the genesis of this remarkable legal document, now available to the public as a book.

You will not learn in these 511 pages who murdered Vincent Foster or why, nor will you find a trace of any partisan swipes at the Clintons. You WILL see revealed in painstaking detail how the cover-up was carried out by the police, the FBI, and by our other major organs of power, not the least of which have been the news media. The greatest achievement of this book is the complete reconstruction of the evening of July 20, using in a very transparent fashion every available public document. Their method may be contrasted, as the authors point out, with Kenneth Starr, three-quarters of whose references are to supporting work by associates, work that is still kept secret. Following the drawings, the cast of characters, and the time line, as you read the book you can imagine yourself at Fort Marcy Park watching people come and go. You will get to see how, as the evening progressed, dried blood around a neck wound turned into wet blood from a mouth and head wound and how all the photographs taken of the original scene disappeared. You will also learn how utterly absurd is the story of the investigating officers that they visited the morgue before two White House officials got there and miraculously found two sets of keys in Foster's pants pocket, keys that they had somehow missed when they went through his pockets in the park. Apart from the patent absurdity of the story on its face, it cannot be reconciled with the time of connected events. And you will see solid evidence for the authors' claim that this is, above all, an FBI cover-up. They show that, contrary to the assertions of some leading White House critics, the FBI was heavily involved in the sham investigation from the beginning. Furthermore, the same FBI agents were key 'investigators' for both Robert Fiske and Kenneth Starr, thus making a farce of these prosecutors' putative 'independence.'

With this prodigious work John Clarke, Patrick Knowlton, and Hugh Turley have moved to the head of the line of those exposing corruption in America's major institutions. Every concerned citizen ought to read it.

Fifth-Century Gaul : A Crisis of Identity?
Published in Hardcover by Cambridge University Press (1992)
Authors: John Drinkwater and Hugh Elton
Amazon base price: $110.00
Used price: $72.60
Average review score:

Covers every facet of Gallic 5th Century
The book is a compilation of 30 essays on various aspects of Gallic history in the 5th century. The purpose of this compilation is to find out whether 5th Century Gauls felt that they belonged to the Roman Empire, and to what extent ("Crisis of Identity"). In some case, the question is more a rhetorical pretext for an impressive display of scholarship.

The sources are abundantly commented : Salvian of Marseilles, Sidonius Apollinaris, Paulinus of Pella, Hydatius, Gallic Chronicle of 452... There are essays on burial techniques, Visigothic coinage, Bagaudae, Military defense of Gaul, the Visigothic settlement of 418, Gauls visiting the Holy Land, Slavery and much more. The book pre-supposes some knowledge of the period because you will not find a summary of 5th Century history. Some essays are fascinating, some are a bit on the technical side for an amateur like me. Lots and lots of footnotes, extensive bibliography.

An Absolute Godsend to Scholars of Late Antique History
This book is absolutely fantastic. For all those university students interested in Late Antiquity, or anyone with a general interest in Gallic History. It provides clear, authoritative articles by the world's most knowledgeable historians on the subject. It is thematic which is fantastic for a period such as this, and refrains from boring facts and figures. Instead it analyzes the ideology present at the time, and more importantly the way in which Gallo-Romans perceive themselves.

An overlooked treasure!
Lord Berners remembers childhood more accurately than most memoirists. He doesn't romanticize nor does he dwell on the darker days. He looks back with wry amusement at himself (an only child of a thoughtful and dreamy nature) and his family (relics of another era). Written with a deft light touch and adult insight into the ways of childhood. Don't miss this -- you'll laugh out loud!

A lost gem that MUST be read!
This much talked about but rarely read character from the recent past is proved to be a real artist and talented writer in this lovely book. I dare you not to be enchanted by this wonderfully written and charming tale of a comfortable childhood. It is arch and queeny at times, but so utterly readable that it is sure to be consumed at a single sitting. For anyone with class!

The First Success Book

Author: Hugh Zachary
Amazon base price: $14.95

How To Live Your Life
This little book is a nice guide to not only success in your field of work, but in life, itself. It's basically the golden rule, but the author has compiled all of the verses in the old and new bibles that have to do with success. Open the book to any page and get your inspiration for the day.

A Source For Inspiration
I guess most of us have read the individual Bible verses that Zachary quotes in the little book, but I doubt if anyone remembers all of them and has the instant access to them that this book offers; and the author's advice on how to apply the ancient success rules to all fields of life rings true.

The Four Quarters of the Night: The Life-Journey of an Emigrant Sikh (McGill-Queen's Studies in Ethnic History)

A fascinating life journey
This is a fascinating book. Tara Singh is an interesting individual with a strong belief system. The book describes this man's life journey. He has included his life in the Punjab, being brought up by a very harsh father, his travails serving in the Indian Army and the challenges that he faced. In so doing he presents a history of the Punjab over a number of decades, all presented through one man's personal experiences. These included suffering from illnesses with no money for getting treatment; and having to transport his pregnant wife from West Punjab to East Punjab during the partition of India. He proceeds to tell about his times in Canada which are equally fascinating. My parents emigrated to England in the 1960s so I empathized with Tara Singh immensely. However, the true character of the man comes out in the book. It is well worth reading.

The reality of hardship
The Four Quarters of the Night is a creatively scripted bibliography of an immigrant Sikh facing many hardships. Tara Singh Bains takes the reader into a timecapsule to the racial era of the 50's and 60's. In this unbias book we see how Mr.Bains dealt with having to leave behind his wife and little children in India while trying to make a living in Canada. Living with his sister and brother-in-law, Mr.Bains takes the reader through a journey of juggling several manual labour jobs to survive and how he kept his religious faith alive when faced against the pressures of trying to "fit in." Mr. Bains kept his religious spirit alive by praying and turning spritual. I was so engulfed in Mr. Bains' journey of life, I could barely put the book down. It is definately something all immigrants should read. And all those who don't know the dept of the hardships of immigrants. A book well done!

Nobody walks by themself
This book is a useful guide to developing a friendship with Christ... it outlines the traditional path spiritual writers have written about for centuries, including St. John of the Cross, but applies it to a modern life and understanding.

thanks brother Elio
I read a few lines of this book, daily, for a few weeks. And my life was changing with it. It seems it's out of order and I left it in the distant Uganda without finishing it. Please reprint it if possible. It's a book that walks along with you in the search of the religious sense. It's a good help if you're not yet able to walk alone by yourself.
