Excellent resource.
The best source on the subject. A must read for all practicing dentists. An excellent review of the things we all learned in dental school but may have forgotten.

Comprehensive coverage for dental professionals.
Very useful for reviews, and even basics, on a topic that is very important for dental professionals to keep up on. Could use another update since the topic needs to be kept current such as in the areas of diabetes and heart problems. Looking forward to the next edition!

The definitive text for dentists, lawyers, & consultants!
Dr. Malamed's book sets the standard for managing emergencies in the dental office; I remember it from my oral surgery rotation in 1985-86. Almost anyone knows his name and this book shows why! Buy it and read it before it is needed (at an inopportune time)!

Mesozoic Vertebrate Life
Mesozoic Vertebrate Life Edited By Darren H. Tanke and Kenneth Carpenter with Michael W. Skrepnick as the art editor is a new research inspired by the paleontology of Philip J. Currie is an excellent book... a book for the advanced dinosaur enthusiast. This book goes into detail about Theropods, Sauropods, Ornithischians, Dinosaurian Faunas, Paleopathologies, Ichnology, and Dinosaurs and Human History.

This book has a whole host of contributors(46 to be exact). All of the men and women are tops in their respective fields, so this book is like reading a medical book with all of the resplendent medical terms. Ah, but doen't give up, there are some very excellent drawings that help explain what the author is talking about, so your not left in the dust choking on the dust. I've noticed that the best dinosaur book on detail are written in this style where a collaboration of many authors that are expert and on the cutting edge with break throughs are written this way.

I would say this, the fossil record is telling the finder something... the finder has to study what he has found and make a determination and conclusion as to what he has found. All of this takes education, trial and error, and luck. So, you have the best guesses written here... things may stay as they were presented or they may change with insight, only time will tell.

If you are more than just a casual dinosaur devotee, than this is the book for you. It is light on the early Mesozoic, but it makes up for it in the late Mesozoic. The book is mainly composed of North American Mesozoic, but there is representation in China, and South America included.

There are excellent references included with there abstracts. This s not a book for children, this is an advanced case study of the dinosaura of the Mesozoic time. Those wishing for a book that compares jaws and endocarnial anatomy will relish this book. There is even an abstract on "The Impact of Sedimentology on Vertebrate Track Studies" which I found fascinating. I didn't know they went to that much detail, in models of track formation show clearly that the layer upon which the foot descends retains the most information of the impactor. Stresses are distributed radially away from the impact site and decrease exponentially with distance.

If you want detail this book has it. There are seven sections as I mentioned above, and they are divided into 33 chapters. This took a while to read and digest the information. This would make an interesting additions to a home library.

Great guide to dinosaurs
Research papers on dinosaurs continue to increase in number, and many bring readers new and thoughtful ideas about the biology of these ancient, dramatic animals. A growing number of books for public and professionals focus on Mesozoic animals, dinosaurs in particular; this one is for professionals. The 33 papers essentially cover dinosaurs of North America, but there are papers on Chinese and Patagonian dinosaurs. Most papers are systematic studies, and some include descriptions of new taxa, but there are also useful studies on dinosaur anatomy, biomechanics, gastroliths, and even sociobiology. A section on ichnology (footprints) examines traces of other animals than dinosaurs; four papers discuss paleopathologies, showing how much about extinct animals can be gleaned from the condition of preserved bones, and another treats dinosaurs in fiction, with many illustrations derived from novels, comics, and other literature sources. About 20 color paintings, restorations of important dinosaurs in lifelike settings, are included along with photographs of the critical feather-like features on some recently discovered Chinese dinosaur fossils. Unfortunately, many of the black-and-white photographs are rather muddy. A useful book for many paleontologists, at a reasonable price. Upper-division undergraduates and up

By "Mesozic Life" you mean "dinosaurs"...
The title is misleading. If you're looking for information on pterosaurs, plesiosaurs, or Mesozoic crocs, this book probably isn't for you. However, if you want to get the skinny on Tyrannosaurus arm movement and what they were used for (yeah, amazing, eh?), new dinosaurs, and generally good information on dinosaurs, this is a good book to consider. Heavy on the second half of the Mesozoic, the book none the less manages to have a good variety of papers about various aspects of dinosaurian paleobiology, phylogeny, and behavior. A great volume.

Another GREAT book!!
Another GREAT book by Ken Druse!!! I pull this book out whenever I need some gardening inspiration. There's nothing like developing a garden that is in harmony with the surroundings. I hate to admit it but I look mostly at the pictures in this book to get ideas - the text is really well written too though. I'd definitely buy it all over again

beautifully packaged, accurate information
This is the third book in a series of three about "natural" gardening by Mr. Druse. In this one, all the elements come together. Homeowners who want a gorgeous landscape will be able to use this book to create a beautiful yard that also introduces Mother Nature back into the garden.Inspirational photos of the results one can expect with this approach. The photos are lovely, and the results really can be achieved using this approach.

The first all-color book on gardening with native plants
At last we have a book with 500 color photographs of gardens from around the Country made exclusively with indigenous plants. This is a ground-breaking book which I hope will have an ever-growing audience. It is a must for landscape professionals and all gardeners who care about the environment. 'Would make a great text book for Universities.

Really amazing book
The Offenhauser is arguably the most successful racing engine ever designed, and this book traces its earliest incarnation (when it was the "Miller") to the last turbo-charged days...Inbetween it powered an staggering number of conseutive Indy 500 winners, plus AAA/USCA sprint and midget champions, not to mention IMCA and amazingly even some road racing wins (not to mention possibly the least succesful grand prix car of all time, the Scarab) The "techie" will find loads of specs, cross-sections, and line drawings, the vintage race fans plenty of photos of the cars of the era. (Note to the author: a larger color section in the next edition please.)A really great addition to those of us interested in the history of auto racing....

Offenhauser
I have just finished Gordon White's book on Offenhauser Racing Products, and fascinating is a word that comes to mind to describe the effort. Idid not attend the Indy 500 until 1994 and missed all those wonderful years when the Miller/Goosen/Offenhauser engines dominated the race. I was lucky enough to attend several years of Championship Car races at the old Sacramento Fairgrounds and witnessed the Offy in action. Gordon has done a fine job bringing back some of those memories, and making a strong case in my view that these individuals were American heroes! If you are at all interested in things mechanical, this is a must read!

Readable, serious history of an auto racing icon
Offenhauser tells the story of the engine that dominated American Championship, sprint and midget and even sports car racing for nearly a half-century. It is surprising that such a book was not written long ago, but the author has done an amazing job of research into racing's past. He tells both the human story of the men who built the Offy - Miller, Goossen, Sobraske, Meyer, Drake and Fred Offenhauser himself, and the technical and political story of the old four-banger's rise to victory at Indianapolis, its long domination there, its fall in 1965, rebirth with turbocharging and final demise in the 1980s. The collection of photographs is amazing - many I never saw before as well as those of well-known drivers such as Foyt who drove Offenhauser-powered cars. Anyone remotely interested in auto racing should definitely have this book.

One Hundred More Poems from the Japanese
Published in Hardcover by W.W. Norton & Company (1976)
Author: Kenneth Rexroth
Amazon base price: $12.00
Average review score:

just right-
Rexroth's brilliant translations, though at times very liberal, do much better at expressing the real meat of each poem than do more traditional, academic translations steeped in dated language. His other translated collections of Japanese, Chinese, French, Spanish, and Greek poetry are equally beautiful. It should be noted, though, that "Marichiko" was in fact a pen name. In his later years, "Marichiko" was an experiment on Rexroth's part to write completely separated from himself as a central figure, switching culture, gender, and language - and then writing poetry from that new perspective. It wasn't until after his death that it even became clear the two were in fact the same person.

SUBLIME EROTICISM -- A MUST READ
Rexroth must be praised for two reasons. One: his translations are razor sharp (in the Japanese style), yet retain all the profundity and the humanity of the poem. And two: the selections are excellent. For all poetry lovers, and indeed for all poetry non-lovers, this is THE collection. You can't go wrong with Rexroth.

Marichiko
Kenneth Rexroth's Japanese poem selections caused a great commotion within myself. Never had such words stir so much emotions within me. As a result, I am able to relate to better with my girlfriend. These selections caught the true essense of love and lost of love.

Marichiko's, a writer of various poems displayed, poems piqued my interest. Her poems were... are indeed intense in nature. I am desire so much to possess her complete works.

This book has changed my views on finances for the better!
I've learnt and applied the principles from this book and can give a testament that God has really changed my finances for the better as a result of a better understanding of God's promises and His words. Read it, apply it and pray about it! This book is also an excellent guide for quiet time reflections.

One Word from God can change your finances
For professing Christians, this book will help you to understand the importance of your finances. Yes, money is a spiritual issue. These are short articles written by different authors. Each one is pertinent for today's Christian. As one author states "Prosperity is not an option". There are doors of opportunity that are open in this earth and it will take money to get the Gospel to these areas. This book is very well written.

Awesome
The principles in this book are clearly explained and easy to apply to your life. I read it in one sitting. It is very uplifting and encouraging. After reading it, you'll be equipped with the truth to help you overcome the spirit of debt. Let the word of God change your finances.

In with the bugs
My 4-year old son and I love this book. The rhymes are great and there are numerous opportunities for interactive participation from the child. My son likes me to read the first part of the verse and he completes the second part. He also likes to point out the numbers hidden on each page -- even though he has done it countless times. No matter how many times I read this, I never get tired of the crisp and beautiful illustrations. After you have gone through the ten garden creatures there is a very informative glossary of the different creatures in the book. Every time we pick a couple different ones to read about. Without a doubt this will remain one of our favorites.

Encourages active participation
Jennifer Ward's Over In The Garden enjoys Kenneth Spengler's oversized, colorful drawings as they illustrate a classic song which teaches kids how to count. Hidden numbers in each illustration encourage active participation rather than just reciting lyrics.

Learn to count with creepy crawlers.
Delightful counting book with in-your-face illustrations are perfect for boys and girls who like creepy, slimy and slithery insects, bugs, snakes and spiders. Words are to the familiar tune of "Over in the Meadow" and are simple enough for this age group (4-7) to learn quickly and join in as your read "Over in the Garden" over and over again. This is the third counting book in the same genre by Jennifer Ward and Kenneth J. Spengler. The original, "Way Out In the Desert" and their most recent, "Somewhere In The Ocean" (personal favorite) are visually fun and young children quickly learn their numbers along with a little bit of nature's information. Young boys will especially love this counting book.

Excellent devotional!!
I love this book! I am not a teen, but this book is very helpful to me as an adult. It is very encouraging and will help you if you are just born again. I recommend it for anyone who is willing to grow up spiritually. It is a great way to start your day and when something comes up, just meditate on the scriptures you read earlier that morning. I hope all teens get into the habit of reading every morning before school - I wish I had this book as a teen. I think those rough years would've been a bit easier with God in my life. This book is a good tool to use to sow a seed of God in someone's life that you know!

Excellent for any Bible Study
This is day to day studying of the principles in the Bible, put in everyday English. Informative versions of the Bible are quoted, along with simple yet challenging statements that draw not only young people, but all people. If you are wondering where to start in the Bible with your reading, let this help!

Wonderful book to encourage time in the Word of God.
Really encourages young people in the good things of God and powers up their day. Great to use for daily family devotions.

Inspirational Autobiography
Not a long novel by any means, but filled with humour, adventure and feeling. Father Kenneth Roberts squeezed more in his first 30 years than I will in my lifetime and yet still felt he had only just touched on what he had to offer the world. Real life tragedy touched his life on a regular basis and although he had the only too human quality of anger and 'Why me', he overcame each with a strength to be admired. The cornerstone to his destiny was his Mother, a true believer to the end. Read this book and be inspired. I am not a religious person by any means and it has made me look on life with a different outlook.

An account of a man's conflict/struggle to serve God
This book is a personal account of a man's life and struggle to become what he should be. It deals with his personal struggle with life, his aspirations, his seeking to find the man he should become and the external draws that life lends to steer a soul away from a good path. All of us can relate to this man's struggles in some part of the book. The people are real and their lives afffected eveyone around them. Something we all should take into account when we deal with each soul we meet everyday. Read it and then examine your life to see if you can be more than you are to the people of the world and for the God that created us.

a truly inspirational book. Father Ken Roberts is the best.
This book was so good, I could not put it down. I thank God everyday for the Father Ken Roberts of this world. He is a truly inspirational person. What a saint he had for a mother, she is the example that our own Blessed Mother in heaven would want all mothers to be like. God bless you Father Ken Roberts.
