I had a mastectomy this week
I had a suspicious lump for the last 15 months "they" were watching ,By july after 4 mammagrams a needle biopsy,an ultrasound and a surgical consult I was "cleared" it's mothing It's soft like a grape come back in Dec" Although I said "No, it's big like a plum and hurts and the needle biopsy said it wasn'r a cyst and further examination can be sone depending on your judgement after physical exam. I received a pat on the hand and told not to worry . This week a tumor the size of a lemon was removed with 14 lymph nodes and I was given a dx of infiltrating lobular carcnoma Stage two (which may be upgraded to three today when I return for a post op visit. Chemotherapy is recommended and that gives me a maybe 1 to 3 % greater chance of survival but on post menopausal women they don't know if it really helps at all but they do know I can risk dying from the chemo and of course being out of work and violently ill. My friend sent me this book via amazon right before the surgury but I was overwhelmed with the thought of this huge tumor and the two days I had to read were spent trying to get the practical aspects of my life in order, things like work release papers so I would have a job if I get trhough this and crying and feeling powerless. After surgury where they found no more tumor but one positive lymph node I have read Susan Love;s Breast book and Harvey is tight She says they really don't know who chemo helps and how cancer happens and why some people with tiny cancers die and some people with big cancers and lymph involvemnt live. They have no way of knowing so chemo is the way to go.. Well I have decided against this and I will use this book as my way back to health The odds seem to be more in my favor if I do this than if I allow chemo where I may just die from the treatment and if that doesn't happen lose my job because I'm too sick to work I am an RN and will probably be abandoned by those in the field for taking my health into my own hands. Well it was in the hnds of three professionals for the last 15 months and all they did was watch the cancer grow and report Yep it's bigger so now it's probably malingnant so now the only option is mastectomy. SO here goes, the first day of taking my life back. Are there any other weoman out there with similar experences? I got on a cancer chat line and I was the only one in the room and that's how I feel now, pretty scared and alone, but the idea of taking chemo that they say really may do nothing is even scarier. I opt for life and health and as Louise Hay would put it Each cell of my body has devine intelligence I now trust this inteligence and I am free. Any correspondance welcome but remember I have read all the current medical options and they don't look good

Good info for both genders
Boy, do we wish we'd read this BEFORE we'd trusted my wife to two surgeons for two lumpectomy's, and then 9 weeks of "optional" radiation. Modern medicine is loosing the battle against cancer and other major diseases. And they're making a lot of money at it. So why even attempt to encourage folks to do what most folks dislike the most, change? Even if it would mean preventing cancer? Good book. Thanks Harvey! Wayne & Belle Hager

Well Organized
This book is a must have for hiking Washingtonians. To start with the way the contents is set up you can quickly locate the area you want to hike. For each hike there is the distance, time, elevation, elevation gain, season when to hike, kind of hike and map number listed on the first page. Plus each hike has a simple map. There are a lot of day hikes, the kind I like to do in here, just a few 8 hour or more. This book along with "Don't Waste Your Time in the North Cascades" are essential for the weekend hiker in Washington.

Filled with ideas that are both practical and inspiring!
This book delivers on its promises. Each page contains one case study of a customer service idea that was implemented by a small business. Of the 301 ideas, many, many of them were directly applicable to my company, and those that weren't serve as a good basis for brainstorming. Reading through the case studies is inspiring as well, since the business owners typically also report on the positive feedback they've received (or increased profits earned) after implementing their idea. Since purchasing this book, we have purchased one copy for each of our 3 locations, and instituted a program for implementing the ideas. Each month, one employee per location is in charge of choosing and idea from the book (or inspired by the book) and implementing it. Highly recommended. Other books can inspire managers to have the DESIRE to improve customer service - this book gives you practical ideas for IMPLEMENTING improved customer service.

70 years of miracles by Richard Harvey
One of the most phenominal accounts that I have ever read of God's movement through someone's life other than the Bible. It is a book that moves quickly and can be picked up and read at different times or at one sitting. Richard Harvey relays how God moved through his as well as his parent's life. And it all happened within the past century! As you read this book, you will find yourself drawn to seek Jesus more personally and boldly. Harvey shows through his own life that God moves just a fully and vibrantly through the lives of His children today as He did in the days of Abraham and Paul. I would recommend this book to anyone from the fresh new believer to the seasoned saint. After reading this book, I found myself more candid in my prayer life and open to the movement of His Spirit in my daily walk with Him.

Finally a breakthrough into chapter reading!!
I've tried, unsucessfully, a number of times to introduce my son to chapter books. He is only four, but will be turning five soon. I wanted him to experience the imaginative process of developing an image in his mind from what he hears. This is the first book that has held his interest. He can't read it himself but I can see his face change expression as he listens - I know his mind is at work. We always only read one chapter at a time, drawing the story out. He always can recall the story up to the starting point and is anxious to hear another chapter. I feel like the "magic" of books has been taken to a new level for our little reader - what an amazing thing to see.
