Couldn't stop reading the book til the end. The plot is magnificiently built, characters are well depicted and the rythm is just perfect. It tells the story of the trip of Francesc Xavier in Japan. It is not simply a list of historical facts,it gives you a good feel of how westerners felt when they arrived to the coasts of Kyushu and met a whole different culture:how to bring a matter of faith into an opposite pattern of thinking. The book is based on historical facts, it even tells famous legends like the crab bringing the christian cross -lost several weeks before- to the beach of Kamakura.
The script is so well written, no wonder film producers want to use it as a base to produce a future film.

Every sensible attorney in Mexico will agree that reading this book is essential for the proper study of civil contracts therein.

The book in comment is widely regarded in Mexico as the foremost legal text of its kind, comprising the analysis of the general provisons and principles that rule contracts in general, as well as those governing the ones which are expressly regulated in the Civil Code and explanations on the rules and principles applicable to those contracts which are not.

This story details how people suffer and die from the repressive labor practices of pesticide-addicted agribusiness. It should give pause to people eating foods produced and harvested in places whose labor practices are known to be repressive. It should spur support for "fairly-traded" foods and also should spur investigations into the activities of agribusinesses using pesticides but probably won't because the power these corporations have over people and political systems continues to increase.

This should be considered essential reading for anyone working in the areas of public health and occupational health. It is a modern but 'classic' occupational health story, which illustrates again, that when workers are repressed, forced by economic circumstances to accept their working conditions as their employers dictate, significant health problems follow.

From a Spanish language freak of over 15 years, with experience speaking/learning spanish in:Cuba/Spain/Mexico/Guatemala/Costa Rica/Peru/Argentina/Chile/U.S.A. I can attest that this is easily the best book I've found to date. My copy is getting too ratty to be useful. Only problem is that a lot of the new, technology related language is not included.

The best edition of this great work that I have yet to see. The notes are outstanding, the background material useful, and the commentary erudite. A must edition for the serious study of Cervantes.

Esta es una preciosa leyenda guajira. Le ensenia a los ninios el significada de las palabras, amistad, lealtad, nobleza y traicion. Tambien describe el paisaje y la vegetacion de la zona en la que se desarrolla el cuento. Las ilustraciones son bellisimas. Este es un cuento que no le deberia faltar a ningun ninio por el valor de las cosas que ensenia. Es mi libro venezolano favorito.

This is a beautiful Venezuelan story that will teach the kids the meaning of the words friendship, loyalty, nobleness and betrayal. It will also teach them about the landscape in which the story depelopes. The illustrations are superb! Every kid should have this book at home because of all the things that it will teach them. This is my favorite venezuelan kid's book.

THE USE OF DIFFERENT GEOMETRIC FIGURES AND COLORS TO SYMBOLIZE DIFFERENT RACES, CULTURES, AND IDEOLOGIES IS SUPERB. I HAVE USED THIS BOOK TO TEACH MATH, PREJUDICE, DISCRIMINATION, CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS AND THE IMPORTANCE OF AND WORKING TOGETHER, TO MY K-5 STUDENTS IN BOTH ENGLISH AND SPANISH. MS ADA FLOR ALMA DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB OF BRINGING TO LIGHT A VERY DIFFICULT AND PROFOUND SUBJECT THAT KIDS NEED TO ADDRESS. I HOPE SHE WILL CONSIDER AN ENGLISH TRANSLATION.

This book is terrific and I loved how it told about his carreer. This has excellant info and great interveiws. I would reccomend this book to any Scott Hall fan, and if Scott Hall reads this I LOVE YOU!!!! And I really want to meet you!

Because the ecclesiastical Commission assigned by the local Bishop to investigate Garabandal did such a lousy job (and could have cared less), the majority of information on these stupendous events comes from the testimonies of the villagers who lived thru the events every day for five years, and the tens of thousands of pilgrims (lay & clerical)who went there to witness the events for themselves. This book is packed with first person accounts from the villagers of Garabandal who were family, friends, and/or neighbors of the four visionaries. No one can tell the story better than these humble people. A fantastic contribution to the literature on Garabandal.
