AMERICAN BOOKSELLER (Pick of the Lists)
"This wonderfully funny collection of simple poems about animals will spark every child's sense of humor. Great for reading aloud, this collection includes silly poems about chickens, bears, donkeys, cows, giraffes, crocodiles, and the like. The rhyme scheme is simple, yet clever, and the illustrations have bright, vivid appeal. A true feast for a young child." --K.W.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY (*Starred Review)
"Ghigna's simple rhymes rely heavily on repetition and their chantlike meter meshes well with Gabriel's exotic visual stylings. Just when readers settle into a rhythm, a welcome aberration comes along. This lively collection will have children clamoring for repeat performances until they can read all the rhymes solo."

Turn to Christina for some great music
Christina is a really good singer. The pictures in it are good, but there's one echh picture. The story is great. The author had a lot of things to say about Christina. I liked this book. You will too if you're a Christina fan!

Awesome!
I love this book! It lets you go backstage with Christina Aguilera. It talks about her life, the road, and her biography. If you're a Christina Aguilera fan, this book is for you!

Wonderful Book!
Our 3 1/2 and 5 1/2 year old daughters really enjoy this book. I love it so much that I give it to friends who have toddlers or preschoolers.

The messages are so sweet and the words are appealing to young children. Nothing scary, just pure tenderness and comfort. It's a collection of one page stories, (each with a different theme) that interest young children - growing, blankets, rain, falling asleep, bath time, dreams, favorite toys etc. The format allows for good conversations to arise with your child.

Excellent for infants--pictures and language are wonderful
Great book for short attention spans. The illustrations capture the attention of infants, and the messages are simple and sweet. Highly recommend for new (and experienced) parents who would like to read to their children at very young ages.

Wonderful
I am only on chapter 4 and I already love this book. It has shown me things about my Christian self that I never grasped before. It gives scripture and then questions that help reveal the truths behind the scripture. I recommend it for any woman, regardless of age!

Women's Bible Study Guide
This is not a book to read thru. It is a study guide for women. It applies to both the single and married. It is practical truths that never are outdated. I like it because it gives me scripture to look up and then asks questions with a place to respond. I have not finished this book, but enjoy it.

A very satisfying book
I have to disagree with the above editorial. I compared the reproductions with others that I have, and although there are sometimes subtle differences they are not always to the disadvantage of this book. Some pictures are better than others, but the advantage here is that each reproduction is on a page by itself with commentary on an adjoining page-a catalogue layout that I always prefer in that it give the painting room to breathe and because I'm not reading on one page and finding the relevant painting six pages later. The book is obviously done by true lovers of the painter. Chardin is profound and a painter's painter. You can see and feel why he was adored by Cezanne, Soutine, Manet, Proust, and I'm sure many other significant artists. He has rightly been called a virtuoso of stillness. Even in reproduction, pieces of fruit, kitchenware and game animals are alive and quietly glowing from within with a warmth, compassion and a kind of subtle majesty-it's really deep in an indescribable way. In my opinion a very worthwhile purchase.

Beautiful!
This book is simply gorgeous. I had been well acquainted with Chardin a number of years ago, and picked up this book on a whim at the store. Rediscovering this master was a true delight. His paintings are deceptively simple: behind the cool colors and the measured scenes lies a captivating energy. This particular volume is very well done. The reproductions are of superior quality and the accompanying essays by the world's most renowned Chardin expert are enjoyable and enlightening. Art books are expensive, but this is one that is well worth the investment.

The soledad of Marquez
With this book, Gabriel Garcia Marquez engolfes the reader into a laberinth of fantastic lifes lived, settings that can only be described as dream-like and details that baffle and challenge the imagination. This is the story of the Buendia family, a town call Macondo and it's inhabitants, throughout the decades and generations Buendias . As background to this Marquez offers the Colombia of a period of civil war and political isntability at all levels. Although this novel is far from being a political banner of any kind it does offer a satisfying taste satire and magic. Garcia Marquez at his best narrative style, fills this story with chaotic and obsessive characters that take the reader through a land of alchimy, Gypsies and bounless unending love that breakes the reason of mind. This book is highly recomended to any one who has a taste for stories of the strugles of the mind and the some times the blury line between the magic of this world and irrelevancy of our lives. This book has been translated into more than seventy laguages, with no sensable loss of content, but is always a pleasure to read it in the language in which the wirter originaly concived it.

An overall great novel
From the very start, this novel was a page turner. I love the fact that it had a magical realism aspect, this made the novel that more interesting.

simplemente increible
Estupendo!

A book to help us all be aware of the good things in life.
I love this book! It is written for younger children to help them learn to be thankful for all that they have...not the "I want more" to be happy, but be happy for what you do have. It also teaches children to open their eyes to what they do have...sight, sun, fresh air etc... This book is for younger children, but as an educator of middle school aged children, I would also give this book to someone of that age who often feels the world owes them something, and doesn't often take the time to be thankful for what they have. This book would also be appropriate for a child of any age that is feeling sorry for him/herself, or one who is depressed in many ways, to lift their sights and spirits. I think this book could also be used as a spring board for family discussions around the dinner table...what are YOU thankful for?

A Real Blessing of a Book from Debby Boone
Debby Boone creates a delightful addition to her series of children's books with "Counting Blessings". The subject of the book is obvious: recognizing the good things in each of our lives. What isn't so obvious is the type of blessings she highlights for the younger readers: the simple, ordinary things in Life to which children will be able to relate easily. The reading level of this book appears lower than that of Debby's earlier books. There certainly is less text to read, so this book may appeal to even younger readers. The book is illustrated by Gabriel Ferrer, Boone's husband. His style in this book is less fanciful than earlier books. The blocks of color in the backgrounds are bold, and the characters are less realistic. Together, Boone and Ferrer have created another excellent book to add to any child's library.
