A classic in the literature of autism
Like Josh Greenfeld's "Noah" books, this is an honest and beautifully-written account of the development of the author's son, a "low-functioning" person with autism. It is warm, unsentimental, loving, and often very funny. It communicates the many struggles of those living with and caring for Gabriel; at the same time, it also gives a strong sense of who Gabriel himself is as a person in his own right, quirky and stubborn. This surely deserves to be regarded as one of the classic personal accounts of autism.

An efficient overview of the kidney transplant process
From options for treatment of end-stage renal disease to transplantation and post-operative management, this very complete and efficient overview offers new learners adequate information as well as a handy reference to renal transplant clinicians. This book was an invaluable study reference for my professional certification. The information reflects current UNOS policy regarding HLA tissue matching and cadaveric kidney distribution for transplantation. A must!

Ibsen, by Rick Davis
This multi-volume set of Ibsen's work, edited and compiled by Chicago/Evanston author Rick Davis is a little masterpiece.

The new adaptations are marvelous, and Mr. Davis' commentaries show us how Ibsen is a master crafsperson, and how his work may be best contrasted with Strindberg -- who is anything but a master editor and foundation layer.

I think Mr. Davis shows us how important precision and planning can be to the writing process. Therefore I think this book is a must have for screenwriters, as well as fiction-writers -- not to mention playrights.

A must-have for serious vocalists
This book contains discriptions of each of Gabriel Faure's songs, along with translations and the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) guide to pronouncing the texts. Serious vocalists are probably going to benefit the most from this book. This will also help someone to write program notes for a vocal recital. Seriously consider this book!

Do you wanna get the big picture
A very comprehensive, down to earth, book. You will get a good phisical explanation to what is going on, beautifully explained, without all the mathematical fuss that blury the descriptions.
Love the examples in the book.

This is the most amazing coffee table book .
Firstly, it is a wonderful photography book. The large color Photos feature women from the many ethnic groups within Nepal, decked out in the most gorgous jewelry! Much attention is given to the jewelry of the Tibetan groups. The text is informative and easy to read. After a long day at the office, I can open this book and be magically transported to an exotic place. If you enjoy learning about Himalayan art and culture, this book is for you!

The Journey---A Review
I got in bed with this book, intending to read 15 minutes. Well...I couldn't put it down until I finished it and then I was sad it had to end so fast. I found this book to be a welcome inspiration in a world that is too often discouraging and depressing. I need and love to read books that remind me of what is good and true. Also, I could relate to the medical dilemmas and multiple marriages in the book. Carolyn was able to put in words concepts that I heretofore couldn't even imagine.
