A beautiful book full of delicious food
Even though I own a few hundred cookbooks, I find myself in a rut sometimes, where I can't get inspired to cook anything. This book changed that. Thumbing through these beautiful pages makes me want to cook just about everything. Tonight we're having real good turkey burgers; later this week, I'll try the tuna with miso sauce. Thank you, Susie Quick, for providing the inspiration to get me back in the kitchen.

Delicious, delightful, and best of all EASY!
I must confess I'm a culinary klutz, but this book has given me a LOT more confidence in the kitchen! These recipes are super easy to follow, and the results look elegant and taste delicious. So far my favorites are the farfalle with zucchini and lemon-cream sauce and the ziti with garlic-roasted cauliflower -- but that's only because I haven't tried them all yet!

This book is terrific for someone who wants to eat well but doesn't have a lot of time to waste fussing around in the kitchen. I didn't spend more than a half hour on any of these dishes, and it's so satisfying to finally be able to impress family and friends with my cooking! It's also beautifully illustrated, so it'd make great gift book as well.

Quick, Smart, Scrumptious, Savvy, Stylish, and Sensible Food
This book is amazing. It makes it possible for regular people to make not just quick but quick, smart, scrumptious, stylish, sensible food with savoir-faire. She totally debunks all that cook like a chef stuff--and I don't want to cook like a chef. I'm not a chef. I want to make fabulous dinners without spending my entire evening or life on them. All these recipes are easy, but with big deep flavors and no convenince foods. She's simplified everything for us--and I really appreciate that. And she has such good ideas, such a fine palate.I will use this book until I've cooked everything in it--and by then, I hope there will be another book from her. Thank you Susie!

Great Guide to beginnning your SAR canine
Great book for gettting the basics for beginning Search and Rescue work with a canine. Book gives a step-by-step approach to training the canine as well as the handler. I recommend this book to anyone that needs information in canine SAR work.

Great book, begginers first choice!!!
This is a great book if, youÂ're either starting SAR work or just want to know whatÂ's it all about! ItÂ's clear, well written, with many b/w photos and drawings. ItÂ's easy to follow and to understand all the basicÂ's. However, if you want to buy something, very complete, you have experience, etc. This may not be what youÂ're looking for. Still, IÂ'll add it to my collection!!!

Excelent, easy to follow
Excelent, very good book, easy to follow, if you know the basics of training. (operational cond.). If you're interested in SAR, this is a MUST. I begin in this, asking for the best books, all the people involved in this, recomended this as the 1st. choice....

Unconditional Love!
Angel's Legacy is a love story between two sisters. Once you start to read it, you will not want to put it down. You are there throughout the pain and the struggles and sorrows, and yet the laughter, as well. You will want to buy several copies for gifts, as it is such a heartwarming story about the lives of these two dear sisters, before and after Angel's diagnosis of a brain tumor. IF we could all only be this strong against all adversity! If we could all love this unconditionally! GOD BLESS Susan's wonderful way of writing! May we continue to see more of her stories!

Written From A Sister's Heart
I became a friend of Susan's through her website, 2theheart.com. Although the last year of Angel's life on this earth was full of pain, she showed great courage, and faith in God, as did her big sister. Susan suffered right along with Angel. I read the book in one afternoon, with a box of Kleenex by my side. It is a well-written book, authored by a devoted and loving sister. It's a book written from the heart.

Please don't miss this one!
Susan Farr-Fahncke, well-known writer and editor, has written an endearing, emotional, hilarious, poignant and intimate story of her younger sister's last year on earth. Rather than the dreary fare one would expect to find in such a topic, however, Susan has detailed the great relish and delight with which she and Angel faced those last days together. Filled with humorous anecdotes and soul-searching passages alike, "Angel's Legacy" brings the reader face-to-face with the grim reality of death in a unique fashion. Angel's indomitable spirit and Susan's refusal to let her die without experiencing her life to the very fullest pull the reader into a whirlwind of giggles and tears, memories and fears. An unforgettable read--and one you definitely won't want to miss.

Women's Fiction at its best
If you like books by Barbara Delinsky, Kristin Hannah and other contemporary stories that cover more than just romance, you'll love this book. Susan Wiggs creates very human and complex characters and then she writes about love between sisters, family members, men and women. A woman comes home to the family she left behind ten years ago for reasons that become clear as the story unfolds. All the characters grow and change. Nothing is tied up neatly, it's all believable, but it's a very satisfying ending. Worth your time.

fits the bill for the Perfect Read
What's a Perfect Read? The sort of book you can sit down with and meet characters who feel as real as your friends. A story so involving that you forget all the crud going on in your life and realize that there are deeper things in life that are wonderful, you discover this in your own life as Jessie, Dustin, Luz, and Ian find out in theirs.

The Perfect Read reminds you to accept your children with all their flaws and to recognize Love when it walks into your life.

Thank you Susan Wiggs for a Perfect Read.

Expertly Crafted Novel
Many a historical romance author has tried to make the crossover to contemporary fiction. In rare instances, authors excel equally in both genres, and Susan Wiggs is one of those rare exceptions. With her latest novel, she explores the bond between sisters Jessie Ryder and Luz Ryder Benning.

After almost sixteen years traveling the globe on photojournalism assignments, Jessie is back to see her beloved sister Luz, three nephews, and fifteen-year-old niece Lila, who is actually the baby Luz and husband Ian adopted from Jess who took off years ago. Through the pain of separation and untold secrets, the sisters try to fit into each other's lives again, as Luz and Ian must decide whether to tell rebellious Lila the truth of her birth. And even Jessie has some secrets regarding Lila's conception. Amidst this very realistic glimpse into one family's drama is the surprising romance Jessie finds with local pilot and widower Dusty Matlock, who has a tragic story of his own.

Expertly drawn characters set against the beautiful Texas landscape are the life force of this compelling novel. Not only is the reader entranced by the unearthing of past secrets, but present-day secrets come to light in this thought provoking read with a unique and believable view of one family's ability to stay together despite personal trauma and tragedy. Stories of Hope, Faith and Love
Although our world has made drastic advances, in technological innovations, scientific discovery, and overall change one thing has remained constant. The desire to be respected and loved by one person who you can in turn love and respect. The notion that someone was born and raised to be your spouse has sent many on a journey for love which sometimes ends up being an exercise in futility (or opportunity for growth) yet at other times is the start of something bigger than either party involved. Something "Divinely Appointed."

In A Match Made in Heaven Susan Wales and Ann Platz share the experiences of many who were successful in their quest like Dr. Robert Schuller who shared the results of his "self-centered prayer" and how through it he became consumed, "not by a person, but by divine destiny." (p. 37). In "The Prayer," Susan Wales was asked to pray for a speaker she never met who lived across the country and required immediate vocal surgery. Just prior to her own wedding years later, her friend revealed to her that she had prayed for her husband.

While love-at-first-sight is the encounter of many matches made in heaven, others sometimes later find that the very one they were looking for was right under their noses all along. Like "Bob" a New York attorney with small town values he shared with his secretary "Elizabeth" who came to New York to be a dancer. When Elizabeth learned that Bob was about to propose to "Laura," an attorney and daughter of wealthy New Yorkers she was heartbroken. Elizabeth congratulated Bob on his engagement and submitted her two weeks notice. A few weeks later, after Bob lost an important case and Laura showed a lack of interest when he tried to discuss it he began to wish that she were more like Elizabeth. Finally Bob realized that what he was looking for was right under his nose along. After canvassing his office for information on Elizabeth's new job he found her pursuing her passion, teaching dance to children. He invited her to lunch after her class and professed "You are the love of my life, and I want you to be my wife." They were married six months later. Through the motif of the proposal to every element of traditional marriage vows, Wales and Platz share a myriad of heartwarming and joyous stories of special days, trying times, and the eternal bond between husband and wife.

Through yielding to God's Divine will for our lives, we can all experience A Match Made in Heaven.

It touches your heart and makes you cry.
I was so touched by this book. The stories in it are incredible stories of how love conquers all. The best part being, of course, that they are almost all 100% true. They'll hit your heart. Keep a box of tissues close at hand!

All God's creations can bring loves together.
Excellent little views of how God uses all of His creations to help ordinary people find love. For example, "The Pet Sitter", by Dee Ann Grand. The prevailing thread of hope, faith, and always believing in God and yourself is a much needed theme in today's writings. Thank you!

My mother wrote this book. She passed away a few years ago,but when i read her book it makes me smile.I am so glad she was able to share this with other people and make them feel good to!A toast to a wonderful woman!(wine of course)

Wonderful!!!!!
One of the best books I have ever read. I'm a 34 year old female who just finished treatment for lymphoma. Ms. Hyde captured my feelings and thoughts perfectly. I highly recommend this to anyone going through a battle with cancer or to any caregivers also. I wish I had found this book when I was actually having my chemo and radiation. Some of her pointers would have helped me a lot (ie. always carry a blanket with you to chemo and to hospitals).

Poky is absolutely adorable!
My beagle looks EXACTLY like Poky. I have never seen an artist's version of a more adorable dog than Poky. His adventures are always sweet and brighten up my day. I loved these books when I was about three and my mom and dad read them to me. I still love them even though I am older. I wish they were more widely available. It is REALLY important to teach kids to love and respect animals. After school every day I volunteer at an animal rescue shelter with my older brother and his girlfriend. The things I have seen and heard break my heart and bring all three of us to tears. Hopefully if more kids grow up learning about how to treat animals and reading books like this that show animals as sweet, adorable, and VERY REAL the next group of older kids and adults will not be so cruel towards our best friends, the four legged ones.

Little Kids love this story
The poky Little Puppy was my favorite as a child. I found that my nephews and neice loved it. It teaches why it is important to obey your parents.

My Favorite Childhood Story
When I was a child I absolutely LOVED this book. My grandma tells met hat she used to read it to me atleast 5 times a day...and she soon memorized the whole book and would have been able to recite it too me if only i didnt have to see the pictures. I remember loving this book as a child and I saved my copy to read to my children when I have them. I definately recommend this book for your child.

Good Inspiration
This book has great, inspirational photos and very good instructions. My main disappointment with it is the authors attitude toward silk paints (i.e., not dyes). I have used several varieties of the paints that are made to mimic dyes and find them to work very well, leave the silk soft and be very easy to use. They are a great way for a beginner to get started and try most of the same techniques used with dyes without the hassle of steaming or the toxicity. I am glad that I had some experience silk painting before I got this book because her attitude would have discouraged me from every trying. Aside from that - it's an excellent book, worth the price and full of great pictures to inspire you.

ONE STOP SILK PAINTING BOOK - INSPIRIATIONAL
This is THE best book I have read on silk painting and I have't seen another to better it in the past 10 years. There ARE other books on the same subject that are good, but I certainly haven't felt the need to purchase another since I thumbed through this beauty!

Everything you could possibly want to know in relation to silk painting is covered in a consise and presise manner. This is supported by photo demostrations for various techniques not easily explained through the written word. The authors pratical experience shines through in the text and fablously gorgeous photos of her and other artists work.

The book is full colour with lots and lots of sensational photos. Much of the silk painting shown is very detailed work eg flowers, pictures; rather than overall "textures" or designs which is more often what you find in other books on the same subject.

Seriously consider this fantastic book if you are interested in this subject, it is worth every $, if only for the inspiration provided by the fablous photos

The Artist's Guide to Gutta and Wax Resist Techniques
Very good and to the point.

Heard at the 2002 Arizona Book Festival...
"You NEED to read this book, mommy!"
Janyne L.

A veterinarian's view
Purple Love is a story that provides comfort to those in mourning by embracing death in the celebration of the circle of life. Susan Faith cultivates the concept of a perpetuating energy that transforms with the passing away of one life form, but dissipates to support and inspire many others. This is a concept deeply rooted in current scientific theory while incorporating Faith's own healing and spiritual thought. A wonderful book that allows the reader grieve, but also provides a spiritual outlet in which to proceed and prosper.

Helping children understand loss and death
Purple Love is a sensitive story about a loving relationship between a mother and child that allows open communication. It serves as an excellent basis for family discussions about life, death and memories. Death is a difficult subject, and this book would be very helpful as a begining point. The illustrations are lovely. Faith and Saski make a good team.
