Power Religion: The Selling Out of the Evangelical Church?

Should be required reading for all church leaders.
Many of the issues up for discussion are simply based upon the age-old debate between, semi-Pelagianism and Augustinianism. However the contributers adroitly cut through the flesh and get at the heart of contemporary church issues. This debate is not over a matter of style. But rather it accurately raises the concern as to what constitutes true Christian religion. If some of the points that are raised are indeed correct, one would have to wonder if authentic Christian faith even exists within much of the current church milieu. These articles should not be treated lightly but rather with fear and trembling.

Fantastic
This is a fantastic book, covering clearly many aspects which challenge and threaten the church and the truth of the gospel.

Proper Theology = Proper Living
There is quite the movement in today's evangelical circles to the idea of "practical theology." Living what you believe, or 'walking the walk, if you will. What this movement sorely misses however is that to "live what you believe," you must KNOW WHAT YOU BELIEVE! Ryle deftly walks the line between Systematic and Practical theologies, constantly forcing the reader to stop and examine his/her own life. What is the point of theology if it doesn't impact your walk? Ryle challenges the "talk" and the "walk" at the same time. Not recommended for those who do not wish to engage in "Self-Examination," but highly recommended for those who truly wish to make Truth the reflection in the mirror of their lives.

One of the greatest Christian writers of the 20th century
Of all the books I have read in the past few years, no one has influenced my life as Bishop J.C. Ryle has. His writtings give the perfect balance of Law and grace and will help you to better understand the Christian life to a deeper and richer level. I am very thankful for the writings of this man. I would recommend his other works including "Old Paths." His expository commentaries on the Gospels are wonderful, too. Find out why J.C. Ryle has impacted Christians for over 100 years.

Ragnarok : Saga of the Night Guard Legion, Song of the Valkyrie, Book I, Episode I

Authors: C. R. MacPhadrick and Charles Patrick

Awesome saga! Recommended!
To the Night Guard Legion there would be born a colt of a rare black color, a color so dark that those who looked upon him would swear it was blue. This Blue Colt would be an omen that the final battle of Ragnarok was at hand. Also, this Colt would become the Destrier of a great Valkyrien Lord, who would lead his Legions to victory, in this, the final battle at the end of the world!

Angelica was very young when her mother was killed while fighting eastern barbarians. It was that day Angelica and her Sword Sister, Alea, made their blood oath to each other. Once grown they were the leaders of the Night Guard Legion of Mist.

The Blue Colt was born and chose Angelica as its guide. Her Legion was to escort the Colt on its dangerous quest.

The Followers of the Sun was a secret order, a traitorous cult. They had pledged to destroy the Valkyrien Order. They chased the Blue Colt during it quest in hopes of killing it. However, each Valkyrie had a pair of valiant "Death Bringers" (huge wolves) and an intelligent Destrier (steed) that would die for their mistress! With such at their side, they must seek out the Council of Legions, fulfill the Seven Prophesies, and win the final battle!

***** A hold-onto-your-seat ride! This story is non-stop adventure. It overflows in battles of swords, axes, crossbows, lances, and magic! I was quickly drawn into the Valkyrie world and hated to see the story end. I only wish more time had been spent on Angelica and Alea as they trained, earned each rank, and bonded with their animal allies. I highly recommend this one to fans of Red Sonja and Xena! Fascinating! *****

Very highly recommended
In RAGNAROK: SAGA OF THE NIGHT GUARD LEGION, author C. R. MacPhadrick seamlessly weaves science fiction and fantasy to create a rich tapestry reminiscent of Norse legend.

A rigid society of women warriors, the Valkyrie, protects one man, their Laird, from the perils of an always-fatal disease. Legend tells of a shadowy cult known as the Followers of the Sun who would destroy the Valkyerie, although with a thousand years of telling, few still believed the prophesies. Then a colt is born of unusual color, so black as to be blue, to the Night Guard Legion. The colt chooses Angelica to trust, until the day when a great Laird will ride it against the Followers of the Sun.

Before Angelica, a Centurien of the Legion, can lead the Colt and her Centurie, she must pass a dangerous test to prove her loyalty. Enduring extreme hardship, she and her Sword Sister, Alea, must now take the Colt on a dangerous path to a gathering of all the legions. Unfortunately, the Followers have infiltrated the Legion, and follow the Centurie, intent upon destroying Angelica's Centurie and the Colt. Deadly battles and natural disasters plague the Centurie through dangerous passes and deadly peril. Written in vivid detail, these fearful occurrences are rendered with appropriate detail and heart stopping action.

Women once practiced their own exclusive methods of shamanism, witchcraft, magick, and divination, but lost the knowledge when patriarchal religions and governments forbade their practice. Author C. R. MacPhadrick recreates these powerful legendary Valkyries; that is, fearless warrior-women of the Norse tradition, bringing their fierce strength, power and passion to his monumental work. Remarkable in scope, written with a deep respect of feminine power, RAGNAROK: SAGA OF THE NIGHT GUARD LEGION comes Very highly recommended.

Great SAT preparation text
If an SAT book deserves to be apotheosized, this is the one. Vocabulary words are placed in Continuums to allow easy differentiation among small differences in shades or degrees of meaning. Plenty of fully explained verbal practice examples are provided. Mathematical formulas are presented along with examples of their appropriate use. No matter how well prepared the student may be, this book is bound to present new and additional information that may very well lead to significant SAT score enhancement. Much of the presented information and methods are available nowhere else. Considering the importance of the SAT score in determining college admission, the cost of this book is definitely worth improving one's chance of gaining entrance to an educational institution of excellence.

Other study aids cannot BEGIN to compare
I was very skeptical when my parents bought me the SAT Encyclopedia. I scored a 1470 on my PSAT. This made me in the top 1%. I had tried dozens of study aids such as Gruber, Kaplan, Princeton Review, only to find that, while they were helpful for those needing to break a 1000, I needed something on another level. Most people don't know this, but the SAT Encyclopedia isn't just written by educators with great resumes like other books are; each writer for this book has scored PERFECTLY dozens of times, in addition to being highly qualified in their respective field. This makes them the AUTHORITY on the SAT. They know how to take you from the top 1% to the top 1/10%! After using this book, I scored a 1590, and got into the school of my dreams...MIT! And incidentally, I have friends who were only scoring 1050 before, and are now scoring in the 1200's and higher thanks to Dr. Fikar. This is the first book to transcend minor score increases-such as those experienced by the 20$ study aids-and virtually guarantee a minimum of 200 points increased, when adequately studied prior to the SAT. Well worth the money.

Still I Rise: A Cartoon History of African Americans

Great for Alternative Instruction
This is a wonderful book. I've found it very useful in my classroom as a teacher of Juvenile Delinquents who dropped out of school. At first sight of the book my students think it's a joke, but I find it as effective as other text boks when teching History. It's FUN and DIFFERENT. A change in the admission of information is very helpful and effective in the acquisition of information in youths.

Great Read
Very unique presentation of African American history. Basically use two elderly narrators, one male and one female to take the reader in time. Each narrator has a different "voice". The female narrator has a bit of black nationalism, while the male narrator has a more balanced view of America in terms of race relations. Though a cartoon narrative, the book seems to be written for older readers (teenagers to adults). I recommend it for the entire family *and* ALL RACES. As author Russell Banks (Rule of the Bone) says on the back of STILL I RISE, "It's not just the history of African-Americans; it's the African-American history of *all* Americans."

Incredible!!
More than how to reveal hard truths, this book offers the astute guidelines that will help develop both better communication and social skills. The book is well laid out, easy to read, succinct and insightful. Thank you, Dr. Foster!

The best book on speaking from the heart about tough truths
I believe in the truth--that it should make things better. But like a lot of people I hate conflict and confrontations. That's always made me bite my tongue when I should've spoken up. This is the only book I've seen that shows me how to have more truth and more harmony in my life at the same time. Plus this book is filled with wonderful, insightful, illuminating stories. I felt the author understood me. This book is the best.

Excellent reference
I keep coming back to this title where other texts like Foley and Van Dam and Angel come short. All the basic hidden surface and shading techniques from which today's architectures are derived are described in detail. Modeling techniques are left out. My only wish was that there was a more recent collection including current hardware accelerators, plus some modeling techniques like subdivision surfaces and DirectX 8's patches.

Excelent!
This is a wonderful collection of very important papers on image synthesis. It's all there: hidden surface removal, ray tracing, radiosity, texture mapping, and anti-aliasing. The annotated bibliography at the end is very helpful.

What Am I: Looking Through Shapes at Apples and Grapes

What Am I? Looking through shapes at apples and grapes.
This book is colourful and interactive. It allows an educator to tailor the book to it's audience of toddlers to school age.

Perennial Favorite
My grandchildren, ages 4 and 18 months, never tire of thisbook! It holds their interest more than any other book they own. Although the recommended age is 4-8, at mcuh earlier ages they loved the vivid colors, shapes, and illustrations. The cut-out shapes fascinate them, whether for a game of peek-a-boo, or the action involved in flipping the page and seeing a different picture behind each cutout. As my 4-year-old learns to read, he now enjoys the book at a different level but just as much. The illustrations are beautiful and even hold my interest with repeated readings, something I can't say for other children's books. In instituting values, we also like the message of diversity, which the children perceive easily as they recognize and relate to the hands of people of different colors. If you're only buying one children's book as a gift, for the children's own library, or to keep for your granchild's visits, this is an absolute must for ages 1 to 8.

This book is really A1
I have used this fantastic book since I was in College Preparatory Center (CPC) at Saudi Aramco. With this book, I was very prepared to the freshman year at my university KFUPM. Things I have liked about this book are:

1-If English is your second language, you will find this book very easy to understand as the authors used very simple level of English language.
2-Concepts are explained clearly.
3-Important Formulas are shaded and boxed.
4-A good number of examples are given at each section of every chapter of this book.
5-Answers to odd questions are given at the end of this book.

I always keep this book in the nearest shelf to my desk so that I can refer to it any time I need it. I am sure that you will refer to this book several times even when reach your senior year. I, also, recommend you to buy the Student's Solution Manual of this book because it will help you very much in solving your homework problems.

A Book You Need to Read!
Alright, Listen up folks! If you're sick of the Commie pinkos and left wing dopers trying to steal our country, you can take heart by reading this World War II veteran's fine book. You will find a series of essays that will entertain, enlighten and stir your soul to action. I believe that Chuck Salm speaks well for the majority of World War II vets and other patriotic Americans who are sick and tired of hack politicians abusing our laws and our freedoms. In his book, you will find a blend of humor, sarcasm and just the right tell-it-like-it-is toughness to hammer his points home. If you're looking for cutsie political correctness that strives to keep from offending champions of illegal immigration, sell-out liberal judges or incompetent school administrators, you just walked into a buzzsaw!

You may have read Sean Hannity's "Let Freedom Ring" and Michael Savage's "The Savage Nation". Those are great books of today, but you haven't rounded out your appreciation for the greatness of America and how to pull the fat out of the fire to save our great nation until you've read the third book in this exciting trilogy, "The America I Once Knew - Vanishing But Not Forgotten".
