I'm Glad She Shared
Here is an excerpt from a journal entry written while reading this book:

"This is the most difficult book I have ever read. Jennie Nash is a wonderful writer, and she says beautiful things. It is SO powerful though - so vivid - that I can't take it. I cry page after page. I just lay it down a few minutes ago, b/c I literally could not read the words through my tears. I have always had trouble reading about blood, sickness, wounds, disease ... you name it (no, I don't think I will ever be a doctor. You think?), so I am queasy as I read her description of the gaping wound in her abdomen and throwing up while literally holding her stomach in."

Any book that can make me feel that much deserves 11 hundred stars, not 5.

Touching
I bought and read this book after my mothers diagnosis with breast cancer, and I have to say this is one of the most realistically heart-wrenching books I have ever read. Any time I ever heard anything about breast cancer,I never paid attention, but little did I know the impact it would have on my (and especially my mother's) life. Breast cancer is one of the most physically, and emotionally draining things you can go through. As my mother's sole caretaker I didn't know what to do to help her.I bought this book as my mother was going through one of her most difficult times, and this helped brighten her spirit. It also gave me tips on what to do to help my mother out and make things more comfortable for her. Even though I am still very young, this helped me realize breast cancer is an epidemic, and you never know when or how badly this will affect you. I liked this book so much I bought two copies,in order to give one to my mom's friend who had also suffered this monster known as cancer. I RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE TOUCHED BY THIS DISEASE, IN ANY WAY, SHAPE,OR FORM.

30's and breast cancer
As a young, 31 year-old, breast cancer survivor, this book touched more emotions pertaining to my life, outlook and feelings than the hundreds of other books I have read on breast cancer. It focuses on the lives of young breast cancer survivors, all our options for chemo, radiation, breast reconstruction. Jennie explores our relationships and the meaning of our lives. Breast cancer makes you take a step back and re-examine your life and what you want it to mean. Breast cancer makes you re-examine your relationships with spouses, children, parents, siblings, etc. Jennie fully examines these ideas in this book. This is a delightful book for young breast cancer survivors, but Kleenexes are a must for this 2 hour read!

Dangerous Women

Agents of Entropy
Victoria Cass has found them -- the heroes of the Yin smothered by centuries of stereotypes. In chapter after chapter, she helps these courageous women come to life again and inform us what it took to escape the constraints of Yang conformity. With the rush of these brave souls from the pages of this book comes a breath of fresh air to help us escape the stuffy pomposity of past and present generations of Confucian and Marxist ideologues.

Recommended for women's book clubs.
This book provides great insights into female archetypes of the Ming Dynasty. The depth of research along with a humanizing attention to story and detail make it a worthwhile read. I've recommended it to friends, to my women's book club, and to family members.

Changed my thinking about women in China
I loved this book, and now use it in my university teaching.
It changed my thinking about women in China, in particular, and about late imperial Chinese history in general.
Beautiful writing complements meticulous, penetrating research.
Six stars.

The king of the castles suspense
This book is good at keeping you in suspense. Dallas Lawson is a painter who goes to a country estate wich belongs to a mysterious and aloof man(the comte)durring the 1800's. Where she is thrown into mystery and adventure. She went there to find a job of restoring paintings only the job of restoring wrong doing has found her. I highly recommend this book. Its the kind of book to read on a dark rainy day or anytime for that matter.

This is one the very best books i ever read.
Victoria holt weaves a web of mystery love france dignity and sheer terror that is simply spellbinding . if its the last thing you ever do you must read this book. I'm at a loss for words so just read the book okay

Best Book I ever Read
This was the first Victoria Holt book I read over 32 years ago. Since reading this book I have collected and read all of her books. I could not wait until the next one came out. I turned many of my family and friends on to her books and they had the same anticipation that I felt when I picked up the next book.

HOW DID I EVER GET ALONG WITHOUT THIS BOOK?????
I just got this book about 2 weeks ago & I can't say enough good things about it. It's a day planner for witches, with everything you need to know throughout each month of 2002 to cast spells, avoid bad days, etc. I have been using a regular day planner and "doctoring it up" for use in my magical workings, but NO MORE! This book does all the work for you, telling you what days are best for casting certain spells & getting results! It does not adhere to any particular branch of Wicca/witchcraft/magick, but leaves thosedetails up to you. This book should be more widely known & in the hands of every witch! Goddess bless the makers of this book!

A must have for any organized witch...
This is a very well put together date book- not only is there plenty of room for jotting down appointments as well as notes on the daily calendar pages, but it also includes a 'month at a glance' section for each month. Also included are major and minor 'power days' for working certain spells, AND shaded areas on the 'month at a glance' so one can see AT A GLANCE the waxing/waning phases of the moon. I must add, the art is lovely and all the little extras make it worth EVERY penny.

Another Wiccans.com Winner
This was the December pick at Wiccans.com and it truly was the perfect 2002 calendar complete with all things Wicca. Blessed Be and enjoy!

The Cajun Bomber's Knock Out Cook Book : Victoria Olsen
I, Flo. Smith, sister-in-law of Shelton Bellard, brother to Dale Bellard has read the book & confermed that everything that Dale has put in book is truein the eyes of his older brother. Also I have tried the recipes, they are GREAT. Had opportunity to have eaten brother Sheltons' cooking. Must have had good mother to give lessons in cooking. Looking forward to second book.

Pizza eater gone cajun
I am from New York and moved to the south five years ago. I learned to love cajun food real quick. Not knowing too much about the south or southern cooking, I went out and bought some cook books. This one was by far the most interesting, as well as down right delicious. Before too long, I got to impress both friends and family with astonishing cajun dishes. Thankyou Cajun Bomber.

Cajun Bomber Cookbook Review
I thought the book was very original with many interesting stories about Dale's fascinating life. I couldn't put the book down once I started reading it. Not to mention the excellent recipes which I have tried and loved after purchasing the book. Definitely a must for food lovers and boxing lovers alike. Enjoy!

"Mommy, read it AGAIN !"
Woo Woo! And away we go to town, with a Spanish lesson on the side. Puerta Vallarta artist Lee Chapman does a wonderful job painting for the "small canvas" of each page. His whimsical style is one that both children and parents will enjoy.

Spectacular
What a wonderful book for introducing young children to another language. After reading just a few times, my son was started using the Spanish vocabulary in the book. It is particularly brilliant since English is married to the Spanish words such that the meaning of the Spanish words is clear from the context. We love it

Your child will be bilingual!!
This is a charming book that your child will love! Our three year old daughter begs us to read it to her each night and enjoys practicing the spanish words in the story. The illustrations in the book are vibrant and fun to look at and the english/spanish translations are not intimidating. After checking it out at the library a few times we decided to make it our own.

One of Garlock's very best
I have read several of Dorothy Garlock's books and this is definitely one of her best. This is a romance set in the days of the American Wild West. The heroine, Victoria McKenna, is appalled to discover that her devious half-brother has illegally sold the family ranch, deeded to Victoria in their father's will, to the hero, Mason Mahaffey, and his rather large family of younger siblings. While awaiting the outcome of the legal dispute over the property, the Mahaffey's take up residence at the McKenna Ranch. They soon discover that the ranch is a resting spot for various vagrants, and possible criminals, all of whom are welcome to rest, lodge, and eat with no questions asked at the McKenna Ranch, a precedent set by the Victoria's deceased father to prevent getting gunned down. A relationship develops between the main hero/heroine couple of Victoria and Mason, as well as the extremely well depicted romance between Mason's sister Nellie and one of the vagrant cowboys,Sage, who has a secret troubled past. It was actually the secondary character's romance that was especially endearing and had me reading page after page to find out what would happen to them. The story has plenty of action and adventure,a nasty villain, as well as danger and mystery. A very good story with lots of fun, humor, and touching romance. A keeper.

Fifty stars!!!!!
I know I say this with each and every Dorothy Garlock book that I read... but this is the best one yet!!! I think this is my all time favorite book!!! I just couldn't put this book down!!!

Mason purchases Victoria's ranch from her brother, while in England. However, the ranch was not for her brother to sell, as it was left in a last minute will to Victoria. Nevertheless, Mason shows up with the right paperwork, and deed of sale - and the will Victoria has that her father made out before he died, hasn't been recorded until she brings it in to her lawyer's office. The will was witnessed by an employee at the ranch, and although it appears to be valid as well... Victoria and Mason must wait out the lawyer's research to find out who actually has the right to the property. Only both Victoria and Mason understand that possession is nine-tenths of the law, so Mason refuses to stay anywhere but the ranch until things are settled.

In the meantime, Mason brings his two sisters and three brothers to the ranch... which further upsets Victoria, watching her home be taken over by this big family. The family, determined to be together, and Victoria determined to be alone... all have some sacrifices to make.

It's a fun story to read, with these strangers being forced on each other... all trying to claim their legal property, but finding much more than a new home. That's not all to the story, like classic Garlock quality, the story is full of gunshot wounds, villians and outlaws, and danger lurking from all corners.

Short, but VERY sweet!
I loved this book. The first time I read it, I could not put it down until I was finished, and I have read it many times since. I think Ms. Garlock develops her characters well. I can almost see them when I read the book. Victoria is a very independent woman with a definite soft side. Mason is a world - weary guy who just wants to settle down. The children and their suffering (unfortunately) is very real. This was the first Dorothy Garlock book I read and went on to read as many others as I could find - all of which were wonderful.

the best book for infants!
I've been reading this book to my son since he was a month old. He absolutely loves this book! It has great pictures and the poem is very catchy--I sometimes recite it to him and he'll look around for the book. He always laughs at the end when the bee "zooms away!"

love it!
My daughter is nine months old and this is one of her favorite books! We love the pictures and the rhymes. We've had this book for 2 months now and she still loves it.

An Adorable Book for Your Adorable Baby
My seven month old daughter gives this book her full attention. She giggles and smiles every time I read it to her. It kept her interest for five consecutive readings! As for the poem and unique illustrations, they are contagious! I think parents will enjoy the book just as much as baby.

Dead Creek
Grabs you from the first page. I was unable to put this one down. Many twists and turns that will keep you guessing. If you read any of the "Dead" series read this one.

A Definite Catch
This is not your typical small-town mystery featuring a cozy fishing village. Retired dentist Paul Osborne has a habit of coming accross dead bodies, and this time it's a doozy. Four dead bodies are left frozen in a cage, with one displaying rather disturbing gender parts. Paul would rather not have much to do with this, but when asked by the lovely Police Chief Lew Ferris to help out, he cannot refuse. Paul is aided by his trusty young friend Ray, who comes from a family of lawyers and doctors yet chooses to live off the land poaching and tracking.

Long lost family secrets, the effects of pollution, a strip bar, and a loon-calling contest all come into play as the three try to track down just what happened in Loon Lake...P>This is a great series with wonderful characters. I look forward to following them in the forthcoming novels.

Dead Creek
Something about this authors charters just makes her books incredible. You can see these people without even closing your eyes. This author just has a gift that (to me)makes every page an adventure with people I feel I live next door to.
