This is the best book on People and why CRM fails!
These authors get this like no one else ever has! They have a scientific approach to the people aspect so critical to the success of a project. They understand why projects come in over budget, off schedule and out of scope. They give you practical ways to deal with people and how to get them to do what you need them to do. They also offer an on line profile that you can do with your whole team that has made such a tremendous difference in my group that I am recommending that my whole company take it!

Simple, Straightforward, Sound Advice
This book completely demystified the ISO certification process for me and broke everything down into clear, manageable steps. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is considering certification or whose company has already started the process. If you're going to be part of something, it really helps to understand the big picture as well as the individual steps, and that's what this book is all about.
Jewish Carpets: A History and Guide
Published in Hardcover by Antique Collectors Club (1997)
Amazon base price: $69.50
Average review score:
To understand the Jews, walk a mile on their carpets.
I have been studying the world of rugs and carpets for 2 years. Reading about the tradition and place of rugs & rugweaving in the Islamic world goes a very long way to explain who Muslims are.
I never found an equivalent artform in the Jewish world--until I discovered this book.
The author describes the attributes and history of those rugs known to have been made by Jews & containing in-woven Jewish iconography. He delves into the Israeli Arts & Crafts movement, whose apotheosis was Boris Schatz and the Bezalel (pronounced beit-TSA-lel)factory-school of crafts.
I cannot overemphasize how fascinating the Anton Felton's book is. I have just ordered one of the carpets that he describes in his book--from an EBay dealer.
I have 2 copies of the book--one from Amazon, the other from the Textile museum of Toronto.

One of very few books on the subject
One of the only English language books ever written on the Judo ground technique of Ne-Waza, this book offers detailed (yet practical and easy to follow) text and photo diagrams on fundamental and advanced tactics and techniques in this martial arts discipline. The book is long out of print and has become quite a sought after reference work.

A marvellous window on the Russian past
This is a very charming book. Not only is there Chekhov's fine story about a lost dog getting involved in a circus act, but the illustrations are wonderful. Surely this is the way 19th Century St. Petersburg looked!
My daughter first found this book in the library when she was six, and it quickly became one of her favorites.

"A Kind of Bible"

Van Gogh as an Evangelist
This book succesfully combats the thesis that the Dutch painter van Gogh, after having been sacked from his job as an evangelist in the Borinage (South of Belgium), became atheistic. Wessels argues that through painting van Gogh continued to evangelise. With a Combination of van Goghs letters, correspondence with his brother Theo, in combination with specific paintings and sketches the case is made. Van Gogh's paintings continue to inspire not only because of their obvious artistic value, colour and technique, but also very much because of their subject matter.
The author, a professor in theology at the Free University of Amsterdam, has been long interested in van Gogh and visited many of the places van Gogh lived in, including Nuenen and Auvers sur L'Oise. For the book extensive research was done in the library of the van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.
The book is interesting reading on the personality of van Gogh, his beliefs, religious and other.
