Behold The Face Of God
This is an interesting collection of Christian Science fiction. I was impressed with the character development--the natural dialogue between the fictional people in the stories. It is about time that Christian Science Fiction moved to the front of the class--and this book seems to really hit the mark. The writers are not trying to sell religion--some characters are in fact opposed to Christianity--they are the bad guys. Letting the story become as real as it can be for a science fiction piece. I liked the feel of the short stories also--and I was happy to see stories that reflect Christian beliefs--in a real mode--after all--not all Christians are happy--grinning--and singing all the time--and these stories reflect a wide mix of human emotions--but the overall theme is Jesus Christ the Son of God--and that makes me feel good and gives me hope--that the characters will find a way--God's way. Good Christian Science Fiction--loved the short stories. I give it ten smiles!

Gripping story. Couldn't wait to read next 5 installments.
Excellent storyline and characters. Visited Cornwall and drove to Sharptor and St Cleer to see where book was based. Look forward to re-reading these books now that I have seen the setting. Thoroughly enjoyable read.

This is definitely a GREAT book. Worth buying.
Let me tell you, I was looking for this book for years (literally!), and never could find it. Then, a friend made the purchase, and I found out that it was worth the wait. This is definitely a GREAT book. DEFINITELY worth buying.

What a Fabulous role playing tool for adults & children
I bought this for my daughter in 1999 and am surprised that it now is OP. If you enjoy the veggie tale stories and videos then you & your little ones will appreciate this "game". I say game for lack of a better word. It's not a win/lose game but a teaching and learning game for the children that provides hands on activity. The toys are made superbly. They are of a heavy weight and stand up to much abuse in our house. Their colors are just as vibrant here as they are in all the videos and books. The set comes with a set of instructions that give several different suggestions to use the toys constructively so it allows variety also for the kids - especially as they get older. I've used the set accompanied by the video as well as solo. The power these toys have to teach a little ones heart and mind is so powerful. Two thumbs up! Mother of 2.

First PhD dissertation in school administration as a novel
One of the most satisfying and exciting books I've read in a long time. School Superintendent Ross has captured all the conflict, tension, and humor that comes with the job of running a modern secondary school. The plot kept me turning pages and caring deeply for these people. This book might do for principals what Up the Down Staircase did for teachers.

God Lives and Dwells Among Us
_A Monastic Year_, Brother Victor's previous book of seasonal, liturgical, and spiritual meditations, hinted at the Benedictine monk's ability to capture the fleeting moments of a day with its month-by-month account of life in the monastery. _Blessings of the Daily_ is a natural continuation, breaking the year up into 365 different entries on topics ranging from Charles de Foucauld to the journey of Lent to the life of Saint Joseph the Worker. As in all of Brother Victor's work, the rhythmic patterns of the seasons flow throughout the text, grounding the reader in the holistic cycles of the year. Images of birth, death, and rebirth chronically appear, making for a beautifully honest portrait of a life informed equal parts by spirit and matter. In all, highly recommended for anyone seeking to glimpse God in the simplicity of daily living.

The best commentary to get on the book of Genesis
This is a really good two volume commentary on Genesis. I like it better than Gordon Wenham's two volume work for several reasons: 1) It is easier to read. 2) There are many points where Hamilton focus on applying the text to the New Testament and to the practical Christian life, 3) you don't have to have a knowledge of hebrew to access this mammoth work. So if you're doing a Bible study on Genesis or if you're preaching through it, then this is the top of the line.

Brain

A seminal work on information thats time has come.
A 5 star read for everyone seriously interested in the subject of information and how the brain (any brain) processes it. I have read this book twice, not because I didn't get much out of it the first time but because I couldn't believe how much more I could get out of it the second time. I need to read it a third time... This book turns the subject of information into a fascinating science. The processing of information becomes logical and understandable. The best news of all is that the parallels between the human brain and the organisations we build using them are so close that lessons learned from one can easily, and effectively, be applied in the other. The late sci-fi author Isaac Asimov once described Victor Serebriakoff as having a 'monstrous intelligence'. This does not mean that the reader needs the same, although the English does require a little getting used to. The author can cram more meaning into one sentence than most writers can get into a paragraph. Read at a leisurely pace (airplanes are best) this begs you to write notes in the margins and chuckle as you understand for the first time why you do what you do, or why you did what you did. This book transformed my life (really!). The next title (The Future of Intelligence) put the cherries on the top.

Classic bridge fiction by a great author
This book was one of the first bridge fiction books I read when I started to play this game. It still rings true 20+ years after its first release. Mollo takes the reader on a trip to his imaginary bridge club and introduces all the regular players. A must read for any die hard bridge player. The sequeal Bridge in the Fourth Dimension is equally as good.
