Quite simply the finest account of the naval war yet written
Writen by the Head of the (Royal) Naval Historical Branch, The Royal Navy and the Falklands War is quite simply the finest account of the naval war yet written. With detailed access to official documents and widely illustrated with photographs form both official and private sources, the book traces the history of the campign from the naval perspective in a day by day, blow by blow account.
The narrative is easy to follow, either as a cover to cover read or a book to dip into for specific information about key events. There is a seperate chapter dealing with ships taken up from trade, (STUFT), and appendices listing all ships from both navies that took part in the war. An excellent read and a "must have" book for the serious reader.

Excuse the 5-star ranking - this is my book
My name is David Cohen. I wrote this book. I hope that anyone with an interest in the history of pro football, particularly fans of the Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns, will give this book a look.

It focuses on the seasons from 1946 to 1950 when the Eagles and Browns - who were in different leagues until 1950 - were the world's two best football teams. I was able to talk to or correspond with dozens of old players, from Hall of Famers like Otto Graham, Chuck Bednarik, Steve Van Buren, Lou Groza and Crazy Legs Hirsch to guys who only had a cup of coffee in the NFL; much of what they had to say is woven into my narrative. I wanted to share their stories and bring those years to life again.

Wonderfully down to earth observations.
I recommend this book to all persons interested in lions in the America's. It will appeal to and educate people with diverse opinions on the management of this wonderful species of cat. Mr. Shaw is not only a good biologist, he also tells it like it is, and in a well written way. I especially hope that North America's wildlife decision makers will read and heed Mr. Shaw's conclusions about lion management. This book is for the biologist, the rancher, the lion hunter, and the preservationist.

Tainted Love
David Brown does an amazing job at showing the issues of addiction that is dragging the Christian community at large down. He uses an amazing mixture of his own life, scripture, poetry, and common sense to show us where we are falling short. I enjoyed the openess and honesty of this book!

INVALUABLE: Extremely good book! Strongly recommended!
It's the best computer book I've ever bought! It's an invaluable part of my reference library! It has extremely usefull information on device drivers, TSR's, COMMAND.COM, and includes an extremely detailed interrupt listing of all interrupts, documented or not. I certainly consider it one of the best DOS programming books ever written! Enjoy! :)

Worldwatch wrote it, Now let's read it.
This book focuses briefly on subjects of great importance to all life on earth, mainly ours. It begins with reports of the world's harvest (grain, etc.) and ends with human life expectancy. Some of the information was a little difficult for me to believe, but as I read on I realized that the people who helped put all the facts together are concerned not only for our future, but that of Earth. There are no doubt publications containing greater detail regarding the topics discussed (rapid deforestation, pollution of waterways, unsustainable fish catches and the problems facing our farmers). This book and those of the series seems to be a starting point for us to investigate what's important to each of us. (There are 22 pages of reference notes). Many people put a lot of work into this on a continual basis. This book is good for pointing out how the future looks in 1994. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
