Great first effort
I thought this was a great book. Character development was excellent. What a cast of sleezy, mob criminals. This book should be on everyone's summer reading list.
Baughman's a winner!
The Brown Stilt House is an awesome book! Short Chapters and an easy to follow plot, make this a real page-turner! David Baughman could really be the next great Southern writer. I highly recommend this book for its suspense-filled plot and great dialogue! I bought it and absolutely could not put it down until I was finished!

California Landlord Law Book: Rights & Responsibilities
Hardcopy book is excellent and a must especially for people with only one or two properties. I would expect that most professional landlords would know most of the information.
Guides you through the process
When we moved to a new home, we decided not to sell our old one but rent it out instead. However, we've heard a lot of nightmare stories about being a landlord, so the idea was pretty scary even though it makes sense for the long-term financially. This book gives you great advice and even examples of doing things the right way and the wrong way. I certainly had a lot of misconceptions about what was legal and what was not, and I think it would even be helpful even if one decided to hire a property management service just to understand liabilities. After reading this book, I feel comfortable that we've done everything in a legally correct way, and that we did a good job of screening our tenants. The forms provided give you everything you need to start renting out a place.

This is a wonderful and helpful book!
This book offers wonderful insight for those looking for creative ways to communicate the Gospel. It is extremely insightful and practical. Dr. Brown is, although not extremely well known, very intelligent and wise, with obvious life experience with sharing the gospel. He shares that experience, in this creative outlet of preaching style, in this book. I recommend it to anyone looking for a fresh and exciting way to convey the most important message in the history of mankind!

great story of alexandra david neel's journey to lhasa
while giving a slide lecture at the great neck public library on our biography THE SECRET LIVES OF ALEXANDRA DAVID NEEL I was handed you excellent children's book. You distilled just the right information with lovely pictures to show how fabulous her journey was.Our biography deals with her life and includes her journey which was amazing considering the Lhasa was so forbiddena at that time. CONGRATULATIONS1
Meet Alexandra David-Neel.....
From early childhood, Alexandra David-Neel dreamed of traveling and exploring faraway places. "I craved to go beyond the garden gate, to follow the road that passed it by, and set out for the unknown," she later recalled. "I dreamed of wild hills, immense deserted steppes, and impassable landscapes of glaciers!" As a child, she traveled away from her ordinary life through books and museums, discovering a passion for Buddhism and Asian culture. Her talent as a singer, sent her to India, Greece, and North Africa to perform with opera companies, but that didn't satisfy her wanderlust. Finally in 1911 at the age of forty-three, she left her husband and home in Tunis, North Africa to begin the journey of her dreams. She would travel to the sacred and secretive city of Lhasa, the Forbidden City in Tibet. "Many travelers had been stopped on their way to Lhasa, and had accepted failure. I would not... I would reach Lhasa and show what the will of a woman could achieve!" Using his trademark eloquent prose and artwork, along with some of Alexandra David-Neel's own words, Don Brown weaves a clever and fascinating story in his latest picture book biography, Far Beyond The Garden Gate. Mr Brown's engaging text is filled with imagery, magic, history, mystery, and intriguing facts and details, and complemented by evocative illustrations in soft, dreamy hues. Together word and art transports the reader to Tibet for the arduous adventure of a lifetime. With an Author's Note to augment the story and further enlighten, Far Beyond The Garden Gate is a marvelous introduction to both an amazing woman and little known country that will whet the appetite of kids 8-12, and send them out looking for more.

The way Rodeo used to be
This book is the truth about the way Rodeo used to be. All of the stories keep you wanting to read more and more and not put it down. You get to know Chris from the time when he was getting his first horse all the way through till he was a World Champion. I have been a fan of Chris LeDoux Music for many years and after reading the book you relate alot of the song to his own experiences of stories that where told during the book. If you are intersted in music by Chris LeDoux or just wana have a good time reading about an old rodeo cowboy this is the book for you.
Cange the way you think about rodeo cowboys forever.
I bought this book a few years ago when I was at the National High School Finals Rodeo, in Gillette Wyoming. I went with a friend to watch. After reading the book I was so Pumped up I vowed to make it back to Gillette not to watch but to ride. And the next year I did just that. I made it in the steerwrestling as Louisiana Reserve Champion for 1994. The very next year I returned again but this time as Louisiana State Champion. If you rodeo or like rodeo I urge you to read this book you'll love it! If you want to know more about it email me at Jared.J.West@usa.conoco.com

A book for the Rodeo in us all!
Anyone who's every rodeo'ed or thought about going do the road, pick this book up, through your rigging on and hang on for a wild 8 second ride!
As both a former rodeo cowboy and long time Chris Ledoux fan, I found this book a very excellent read!
Excellent Biography
I actually read this book about 4 years agoand thought that it was an excellent review of Chris's life. I began listening to Chris at an early age and was very interested to learn more about his life and this book was just the tool i needed. There are some excellent pictures of Chris riding broncs, and others of him in his younger years. I highly recommend this book to any one who is a Chris Ledoux fan.

A must if you want to avoid a money sucking lawyer
I recently became a guardian of my young nephew but could not afford and didn't want to deal with a lawyer. This book made it possible. It layed out the steps in a well structured manner. I was very satisfied with my purchase. The forms it included with the book were just great. Buy it.
Excellent resource, whether or not you will use an attorney!
As an attorney who regularly represents clients in
guardianship proceedings, I strongly recommend that
my clients read The Guardianship Book so that they
understand the sometimes confusing process. In some
cases, I hand the book to my clients during our
first meeting, as "homework" to read before I will
prepare and file a petition. For those who cannot
afford an attorney, I recommend this as a resource
that will save considerable time and avoid court
hearing delays. For clients who can afford to pay
my fees, the book still saves my time explaining
many issues -- the $25 book can easily save $250
in attorney fees. (Mark J. Welch, Pleasanton, CA)

Excellent
I bought several landlord's rights books and found that this book was really helpful and easy to understand. I highly recommend this book if you're a landlord in need of legal advice to protect your property.
INDISPENSABLE!
This is a major component of my landlord/property manager library. I was not surprised to find, when I purchased this recent updated edition, that it is even better! (I noticed more excerpts of code.) Nolo Press has a deserved reputation for offering excellent legal guides for the lay person

Wonderful!
This is a great book that does what it says--it takes you step-by-step through the art of "realistic" (representational) collage. The author describes the various media (mostly paper, but also metal & fabric) for the finished collage and the different ways to adhere those media. The book also contains a section on other methods of achieving realistic collage by looking at other artists' work. It's definately worth the money if you enjoy collage.
Fabulous collage ideas!
Originally saw this book while visiting the artist's gallery in Maine. It is attractive, concise and FULL of ideas for tons of projects. The book does a great job of inviting people to use their own creativity while giving them guidance and support. I would recommend it to both beginners and advanced collage artists.

David Jay Brown is Exceptional!
Author David Jay Brown does it again - a wild and wicked trip into the secret places of our mind through a delicious fantasyland of science fiction. Or is it? One has the feeling DJB has been there himself. How else could he describe the alien experience in such exquisite detail? Brown has an extraordinary gift for communicating on a verbal, artistic and emotional level simultaneously. Me? I'll read anything Brown writes. You? Read this book only if you're a mental adventurer with a true appreciation for literary genius... and the willingness to jump gleefully over the edge.
phantasmagorical entertainment tour
