Very Poorly Edited
The disclaimer at the front of the book explains it all:
"This book was set in 10/12 Century Schoolbook by the author and printed and bound by Malloy Lithographing."

No mention of an editor, and it's obvious from the very beginning. The text is heavy with bold, italic and underlines. I gave up marking the errors in Chapter 2 because I was spending more time marking than reading.

Getting any useful information out of this book is very difficult.

A Teaching Tool, Not a Reference Book
As a professional in the IT industry I did not find this book a helpful reference. Perhaps I did not carefully read the subtitle "...in plain English". So, this would be a good teaching tool, not a good reference book.

Although written "in plain English" it is verbose. I really would not want to be a student reading all of this for a class. There is much repetition (a good technique for oral instruction). And much emphasis is given using BOLD, Italics, and Underscore. Whew!

Finally, the list price is too high. I would borrow the book from a friend, but I would not purchase it on my own (especially if I were a student on limited income).

This book has concepts based on the author opinion.
The description of this book on line make us think that it is much better than the reality. For example, the use of heparin is not recommended by any other author or used in any trial, and the therapeutic option for acute myocardial infarction is not discussed and the author do not show comparative data. In resume, if you expect a atualization, what you find is a copy of others textbooks and concepts defended by the author without support in by other authors. Don't by it!

An inadequate source of information for your boat.
Unfortunately, the author has oversold the concept of his book. You would expect that a book entitled "A Complete Guide to Boat Maintenance & Repair" would cover the most elementary and routine service procedure of removing and installing props from a stern drive; this information is no where to be found. Similarly, in an attempt to find pertinent information regarding something basic, like the replacement of zincs on an i/o drive, there was no reference to be found in the text. The closest thing to help for this chore (of changing a zinc anode) is a pathetic b&w picture, on newspaper-thin paper no less, of a propeller shaft with its zinc from the running engine of a sail boat. No other diagrams and/or descriptions were provided for the multitude of other zinc arrangements found today.

The author's experience seems to come from his own 20' sailboat. In result, although the cover of the book depicts a powerboat, most maintenance items are pertinent to very basic chores like varnishing. Disappointingly, I was unable to start even the most basic service tasks that I had hoped to accomplish with this book, and will have to keep looking for a more useful source of boating maintenance and repair information.

Not an Oracle--not much of anything.
While the author's background sounds impressive and an illustrated book is provided, the information provided in this set lacks both depth and usefullness as an oracle.

Ever go into the kids department and look at one of those picture books on a country??? They have pictures of mummies and pyramids and lots of surface level info on belief systems...That is what you get in this "oracle".

The book has lots of pictures and short insubstantial bits of information on everything BUT how to use the oracle. It jumps from one topic to the next without ever dealing with this. There is a page with a few words on magic, a brief paragraph or two with pictures describing the Gods and some other various and sundry pages on healing, the Rosetta Stone, Hermes, Ankhs and general info on Eqyptian culture and beliefs. But where is the "oracle" that tells the future? Nowhere to be found.

As best I can figure (there are no clear instructions), you are supposed to carry around or somehow make use of the picture cards of the Gods to produce the results ruled by them in your life. They are like props for your own version of Egyptian magic. The other cards which give short, not very usefull pronouncements such as "don't leave home," are even more of a mystery. They seem to have something to do with the small...double sided calendar, but exactly what is not clear...And does the Egyptian calendar which has been transposed to ours even account for the shift in the stars over the last 2000 years?? We aren't told. The equinox points are noted but then any wiccan calendar will give you that and much more.

Aside from that the Ankh included is ... almost weightless and not anything you would want to wear. The box however is very substantial. Nice heavy box...
