interesting concept
I have not read the 3rd book in series, but have it on order. I enjoyed the first two books, so am looking forward to 3rd. The storyline and the erotic nature of the story are so intertwined, you could not enjoy one without the other. One thing I would like to ask is, could there be an exploration of the female side of the Lyceum? I think that might be interesting.

Synopsis
"Initiation into a secret of mages, randy youths, whose intimate knowledge of pleasure and enchantment could open portals to a higher reality, had strained Ander's body and dazzled his senses. But mastering the ecstasy required to perform magic was only half the challenge. Fighting a tyrant's scheme to seize the vast power concealed in the magical realm had nearly cost his life. . .
Conjuring the Flesh continues the adventure begun in the highly acclaimed Apprenticed to Pleasure, telling a tale of love, magic, danger and graphic sensuality. Embark on an adventure you'll never forget!" 192 pp. - Leyland Publications

excellent
I am a straight women. anyway I happened on to Apprenticed to Pleasure. I have never seen gay erotica written in such a way before, I had to go out and pick up this book. All I could say is if he continues to write a series on these mages and such, i'm hooked. The characters where great, and it's based on love, not just the sex. It's well written, and always keeps you wanting more. I hated to see it end.

Hilarious!
This is one of the most crazy yet imaginative books I have ever read! I laughed from cover to cover. A good buy for those with a twisted sense of humor!

Belly Laughs Galore!
When I started my journey into the mind of Mr. Cornett, I didn't know exactly where he was coming from. After reading a few more of his letters, I realized he isn't coming from anywhere. He is all over the place. He is insane . . . and his letters slay me. It started out with a chuckle here and a snicker there, but quickly turned into full on belly laughs. This book is great to go back and read again anytime you need a good laugh. I highly recommend it, and I hope Mr. Cornet does a sequel.

Hilarious!
I am amazed by the imaginative letters written by the author! It has provided my friends and family with non-stop laughter! The pefect gift for those with a good sense of humor!

Who Was Eleanor Rigby: And 908 More Questions and Answers About the Beatles

Maybe I'm biased
Maybe I'm biased because I am a contributor to this book, but I found it highly entertaining and informational. Oh, and by the way, Eleanor Rigby's grave wasn't found by Paul McCartney until sometime in the 1980s. Eleanor Rigby is really a combination of Eleanor Bron (an actress in "Help!") and Rigby's stores found all over England.

Very fun!
This book is very good. It is divided in various chapters, each one talking about one disc or year. There are short trivia questions, some are "true or false", others have complete answers. They are divided by numbers (there are 909 questions) and in the end of each chapter there are the answers. There is a nice introduction and in the end, a bibliography (useful for those who want o go deeper into the trivia). I bought it on a trip to New York, and althought I had read about it on Amazon.com, I would have bought it either I hadn't, because its backcover has attractive questions that incite you to buy it. It's a narrow and small book (not a pocketbook, taller), a typical paperback.

what a great book! Amazing, random info...
I have no idea how the author went about researching this book, but the end result is such enjoyable, and interesting reading. Very quick and interesting reading for a fun night with friends(who are interested in the Beatles) or when you only have a few minutes to read some quick interesting tid-bits.

A Compelling Memoir
DeeAnn Brandon's book, The Bird with a Broken Wing, is a well-written and crafted memoir. She weaves her life story with a thoughtful look at societal ills, the family farm crisis, faith, sexual and spiritual abuse, and finally recovery.

Powerful
After reading this book, I felt very close to the Author, Dee Ann Brandon. I think that she is a gifted and powerful writer. As she walked down the nature path and remembered, I felt as though I was walking with her. I highly recommend this book and am eager to read the one she is currently writing, Riding wild Horses, No Hands.

Heartbreakingly Beautiful
From the first page I was caught in the spell of DeeAnn Brandon's incredibly moving story. I started after lunch, read through dinner and sat up till just after midnight with burning eyes that were only soothed by tears of emotions she plumbed from the very depths of my soul. Here is the unvarnished life of a woman who has faced the trauma of her childhood, desertion by her first husband and the death of her beloved daughter. Brandon takes the reader with her step by step as she searches for and confronts the horrors trapped in her mind and heart. With wisdom and anguish she makes the journey toward her healing and you find yourself struggling along beside her buoyed by her awesome tenacity and belief in God. I was utterly blown away. When I closed the book and laid it down I spent days thinking of it, able to concentrate on little else. I highly recommend this book, especially to any woman who has suffered a tragedy in her life. DeeAnn Brandon is truly a modern day heroine!

puts you on the path...
A great introduction to Taoism... covers essential ideas and terminology; the history, including mention of debated theories on Taoism's development; a screen backdrop of Chinese history during the Fifteen Epochs; references on-line, on location and in additional books for interested users.

While most of the book does a good job to earnestly emphasize the simplicity of Taoism and strives to distill and present the essentials, backed up with references for further review, there is a slight abandonment of responsibility as applied to what the book calls "the branches of tao" -- specifically, the i ching, tai chi, feng shui, acupuncture and herbal medicine. It is not clear how these developed independently of Taoism, and there is a danger in that the reader may believe them to be instrinsic to the philosophy. However, more detailed references are suggested from which any interested reader would quickly learn the truth.

As the title "Complete Idiot's Guide" suggests, could be too basic for those already well-versed in the subject. Serves as a great reference, and timely. Some of the best sources cited are free, online.

Learned about Zhuangzi
I knew a little about Taoism -- or thought I did -- but was surprised at how much I didn't know about Zhuangzi. An engaging and enlightening review of an important subject. Very informative.

Helped me understand!
What a great book! Toropov really helped me understand what Taoism is and how it fits in with many other Eastern traditions I've heard about. An excellent overview with real meat -- not just fluff.

AN OUTSTANDING, PRACTICAL MANUAL
Resume writing is a daunting task I've hated for years. Determined to make this a positive experience by tackling the task in new and creative ways, I spent one and a half hours looking through dozens of books on the subject. I chose this one first. But, not until I had looked through dozens more did I come back to THE EDGE and sit down to take a cautious look at its content. At first glance, this is a book packaged to sell and, afraid of "hype-stuff," that made me not trust it initially. (It includes inserts of four-color resumes on real stock inside that, later, I came to find extremely useful.)The authors of the book practice what they preach.

I read THE EDGE in its entirety in one sitting, and discovered that after 22 years of being in the job market there were still a few things I didn't know. I reccommend it highly. Even if you find THE EDGE a bit extreme, the strategies presented in it are practical and relevant to today's job market. (One small section includes tips on scannable and electronic resumes. An extensive appendix includes worksheets you can photocopy.) You can aim between THE EDGE ideas and conventional ones, and still come out ahead.

A Revolutionary Approach to Resumes
Creative resume-writing is often the only thing that gets an applicant noticed. This book is a creative resume writing almanac! Authors Corbin and Wright show hundreds of creative resume examples that can be adapted to almost any situation. Creative use of graphics, icons, and paper create a visual image that is sure to resonate with the hiring authority. Especially great for lawyers, teachers, tech jobs, and professionals.

This got me the job i needed
This book helped me out so much I couldnt even fit in this box. But the ideas that suggestions that they make are priceless!

Highly Recommended!
A riveting account of Jeanne Lee's personal journey into the misunderstood world of Alzheimer's. Her story is sad, but allows the reader to get inside the mind of someone whose fears, frustration and worries about this mind-tangling disease provides a road map for us to be forever living in the moment. - Larry James, CelebrateLove.com, Author, "How to Really Love the One You're With"

Wake up call for Alzheimer's Aawareness(she lives it)

Just Love Me, My Live Turned Upside-down by Alzheimer's
by Jeanne L. Lee

I think this book is a wake up to those of us who share in the care with someone with Alzheimer's. Jeanne tells it like it really is in words we can all understand. Jeanne has given me permission to use a few excerpts so that we can all begin to realize just what it feels like to those who have this horrible disease. Through reading this book, you will learn why you as a carepartner or caregiver need to have more patience and remember that it is the disease and not the person you love. Believe me, the person who has Alzheimer's or another dementia sure didn't ask for it. It is up to us, the TAB's (temporarily able brained) to learn to move into their world as best we can as they cannot, try as they may, always be able to cope in our world.

I offer my sincere thanks to Jeanne for sharing her life with us in order to help all of us have more understanding.

Page 26
Did you ever take a full minute to decide which way a key goes in the hole? Maybe once, but five times a day? Or look in a phone book and not know which letter follows which letter? Try to add three numbers together and get five different answers? Walk into someone's house that you have been in many times and take ten minutes to get oriented as to whose house you are in, and what you are doing there? Watch a TV movie and forget what it's about in the middle? Read for hours and hours, having enjoyed it while you were reading it, but then it's all gone? Ride the bus and forget where you're going, and have to hunt through your weekly agenda to see where you're going and why? That is, if you remember you have somewhere to check. Lose or misplace something, not just occasionally, but four or five times in an hour? I can misplace my pen ten times in an hour. I can misplace my glasses, even though I have a pair in my purse, another pair in the bedroom and another "wandering" pair. All of a sudden they're all wandering, and then they're all in my purse. I clean up the same pile of stuff four or five times before it gets where it's going, and I used to be the best organizer in the world. Now it takes me two hours to prepare before I go anywhere.

Page 32
Something that I also find disturbing, especially with groups, is that I have to frequently interrupt, because, if I don't, by the time they're finished with their story I've forgotten what I wanted to add. I have to get people to understand that they can remember their story, and after I've said what I need to say, before I forget it, I'll shut up and let them finish. So, I either interrupt or lose what I was going to say, and what I have to say may be important to the conversation. This is hard for someone like me who was taught not to interrupt when someone else is talking, but it's the only way now. It's an awful feeling, but if people were more aware that this is the case for someone with Alzheimer's that would help. For those who want to say something and can't find the right words, it makes it seem like you have no intelligence. Combine that with feeling rude for having to interrupt, well, sometimes you just feel it's easier to let the thought go. That is why so many withdraw and don,t talk. But I do not think people should have to do that.

A Note from Jeanne Lee
Jamie My purpose in writing the book was to help people. You have my permission to use what you see fit. Anything short of cover to cover is open to you. I admire you for the ribbon and if I can help please let me do so. I am on a journey for earlystage awareness and moving right along. I hope to do a greyhound bus tour from LA to Portland stopping at towns to lecture and do book signings. If that turns out OK and the funds last I will do Portland to Vancouver BC. I do not have the support of oour archaic AD association so this is a one woman challenge to open the eyes of all the islands. I even borrowed $6000 from a friend to represent the United States as a person with dementia at the International Alzheimer's Convention in Barcelona. I do not want to toot my own horn but just to show you that I really am an advocate. Aloha Jeanne
Thank you so much for The Ribbon.

My Life Turned Upside-down by Alzheimer's

This life is a many-splendored thing.
One could say that this book has a misleading subtitle: It would appear that Jeanne L. Lee's life has turned right side up because of her diagnosis of Alzheimer's.
She says it like it is for her, and much of what she describes is true for this reader who has come to grips with his own diagnoses of Alzheimer's, unipolar depression, obesity, kidney failure, alcoholism, emphysema, and now diabetics, all within the last two years.
Page after page she describes the various conditions of depression, alcoholism, dropping, forgetting, losing words, endless tests, denial by physicians, et al,, which plague all of us.
But thanks to the diagnosis, she is able to confront the denial of early continued sexual abuse, her own and her father's alcoholism, and multiple relationships.
The book is jumpy, and disjointed, but that is the nature of this species of dementia. Many of us demented ones have a huge sigh of relief, when all the eliminations are done, and the only culprit remaining is Alzheimer's,
This is not a book for those professionals who are determined to establish that those of us with the disease have no valid information to share with them. This is not a book for those who are only interested in working with the caregivers. This is not a book for those who say why do anything meaningful, since we won't remember the patterns anyhow. This is not a book for those who flaunt memory improvement exercises which deny the loss of the ability to learn. This is not a book for those who talk, but do not listen. It is a book for the rest of us.
Her main title says it all for this ALZer: "Just Love Me." But this love comes at a high price in the face of vincible ignorance.
We will talk, even if the words are jumbled. We will read, even if the continuity disappears. We will listen, even if the sentences disappear into a black hole. But most of all, we will love, even when we are not loved by those around us.
Lee has shown us the way out of our tunnels of loneliness and despair.
Lee says: "I know there are many people out there who neeeed to hear from others, like themselves, that it's okay to goof up; it's okay to do stupid things; it's part of what's happening to this body and brain. But it doesn't have to be all bad. There is so much good, and so much you can still do. So what if you can't remember somebody's name. You can still say hello to a little old lady. You can still give flowers to soneone . You can still look at the ocean [like I did on a Senir Retreat last week] and say, 'Oh God, I'm so lucky.'" And thanks to this book, that is exactly how I will spend my time remaining. Thank you Jeanne.

Good
It is a little wierd. You would understand it better if it wasn't a comic book. Some stories are really good, though. The thing I like about it is it introduces a new G-force.

A Great Selection of Godzilla Comics!
I am a huge fan of Godzilla, so I loved this book. I used to read the Dark Horse Godzilla comics, but I lost most of them, so I was thrilled to read this! G-Force is the coolest team ever, I'd love to member of that group! I also liked the many new monsters in the book. Bagorah, Gekido- Jin, Cybersaur, and even Hero Zero. The fighting scenes are great, these comics would easily make great Godzilla movies!

Oh man, if your a fan of Godzilla....
This comic is awesome. It's Godzilla that adults are likely to enjoy. Very well written. One of the best drawn comics I have ever laid eyes on. The creatures that Godzilla meets in this series are rad. If your kids are old enough to read, and they like the original Japanese Godzilla, this comic series will make a perfect gift for them. If only someone would make a live+CGI or an anime version of this comic and bring it to television.

More true-to-life than most
The story is laid out above (Editorial Reviews). So I'll just add that I liked it. It was pleasantly different than most legal
mysteries in that it was about regular people in a rural town, not your wealth blahblahblah clients who can and do buy and
manipulate everything and everyone in sight.
This is the third book by Jay Brandon I've read and enjoyed.

The only blooper I found was that the lawyer went looking to see if the defendant was wearing a ring. Everything is taken
from you when you are processed into jail.

Classic
Wicked. Cool. Sorted. Jay Brandon is da man. Aiiight! Boo ya!

Classic
