Smokey Brandon's Back
Noreen Ayres adds to her Smokey Brandon series with the darkest and most moody installment yet. The suspense is as heavy as fog, and the menace of the narrative is unrelenting. The novel asks you in, and it won't let you leave.

Proverbial-Nostalgia
This book had a great underlying proverbial theme to make us think about how we look at life. It left you feeling nostalgic at times and fascinated at others. What keeps us from giving up? Blair Buchanan, the main character, makes you feel like there actually might be a purpose to this crazy game called life.

clear and accessible
Chang's text was my choice for my General Chemistry course this year. It includes very basic material, which is very helpful for heterogeneous courses or courses where students have limited background in math or chemistry.

There are some odd mistakes in the text, but they are primarily when Chang editorializes and do not involve important facts or concepts. For instance, Chang states that water in the ocean has the same chemical structure as water on the ice caps of Mars.

Chang intentionally avoided presenting a great deal of real-world examples or applications, but he does have a short historical or biographical sketch at the beginning of each chapter.

A great book on history without being a history book
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I usually hate history books. It describes all the details of the characters and the time period and really made me feel like I was there, too. I have hated history ever since it was required in college, but this story and the detailed characters have made me long to understand more of the actions of the people involved and I'm now voluntarily going to look into more books on the lives and times of the main kings involved: Henry VIII and Louis XII. I definitely recommend it!

This was Jim Lee's first creator owned project!!
WildCats: Covert Action Teams was Jim Lee's first Creator owned projected published by Image Comics in 1993. The story centers on the formation of a new superhero team to doing covert missions against an evil alien race called the Demonites. Void is the spiritual, cosmic, time, lady of the lake Russian entity who finds the chosen one, Lord Emp. He is a short, homeless, drunk, White male who wines off the streets of New York city. Void tells him he is the chosen who will defend human life against the Demonites. At first he thought he was dreaming but then Viod takes him to his future and learns the Lord Emp will become a billionare and will have his own covert superhero team called "The WildCats". This introduces the whole bunch of new characters that started Wildstorm productions which is now at DC Comics. This introduces Spartan, the combat leader of the team, Maul, the big purple guy with muscles, Warblade, warrior that can longgate his figures and hands, Zealot, the barbarian female take no prisoners type warrior, and Grifter, the mystery man with the guns. This book started Wildstorm productions for Jim Lee and his publishing company , So if your fan of DC comics an never heard of Wildstorm, I recommend that you read this book! Buy it! Great Jim Lee artwork!

My hats off - Great Book!
I found this title to be informative and provide a well-rounded balance of parapsychology information. This book is prefect for ghost hunting beginners and professionals. The author cover many aspects of a ghost hunt that I have never seen listed in other books of its type. The book covers witness interviews and details what questions should and should not be asked to an eyewitness. It talks about simple ghost hunting techniques and rolls into a great question and answer section. It has a good parapsychology section (something that I think many ghost hunters are missing) an easy to use reference section and some good stories. Overall, I am very impressed and I look forward to future works from this author.

Ghost Hunting at it's Best!
The Ghost Hunter's Bible is a great book! My daughter bought it for me as a gift. I've been telling her for months that I think our house is haunted but I did not know what to do about it. This book was everything to me at a very hard time! The ghost experience and this book have helped changed my life for the better. I would definitely recommend this book to anything looking for ghost hunting info. It was easy to read and it is filled with endless facts on ghosts. If the author ever reads this page then I just wanted to tell you, thanks a million!

Shocked by some Negative Reviews
I have owned this book for about 6 months. I am currently part of a small ghost-hunting group. I recommended this book to my group and everyone loved it. I have been conducting real scientific ghost hunts for about 4 years and I found that this book hit the nail on the head almost every time. I have to believe that many of the negative reviews are false because they talk about Witchcraft and Satan none of which is even talked about in the book. There is nothing in this book that bashes occults subjects. The author is very straightforward on the subject: if you are conducting a true scientific ghost hunt do not use psychics, mediums or magic because these are not scientific tools. That is not bashing that is just the truth. If you are a true scientific ghost hunter then this is a good book. If you are a burned out hippy looking for Wicca rituals then this is probably not your book. But seriously, if you are into scientific parapsychology pick up this book.

Do you really need this?
My review isn't a slam on people that use cheat books like some of the reviews here. But, the game flows so smoothly, I just wouldn't see why you would need one. The game pretty much only gives you one option in which way to go next. Either every thing else is blocked, or all the other doors are locked. I liked that because I don't like games that you have to run all over just to figure out where to go next. There is even a level in the middle of a swamp. I thought I would have a tough time figuring that out, but there are lights here and there that kinda show you the way. Very good game. If you are thinking of getting this, get it. I just had a friend over who has a PS2, and is thinking of getting an XBox just for this one game. That's how great it is!!!

Useful
The strategy part of this game is not really necessary. Halo, being possibly the best game of all time, does not have any segments where the game is frustratingly difficult, only challenging and entertaining. You will not need this to complete the game, unless you really [stunk] and need to know the locations of all those hidden overshields and health packs, or are too stupid to realize how to kill those big fat covenant dudes. This guide is very useful in one aspect however: multiplayer.

For your friends who have not played Halo as much as you have, if at all, it will be useful for them to know tactics and item locations on multiplayer maps. There's nothing more annoying than being shot with a rocket launcher 5 seconds into a game while you're still trying to find out how to get out of the room you're in.

The guide also has interesting extended background information about many things in the game.

Excellent
Maps, weapon descriptions, level maps with corresponding screenshots, enemy weaknesses, great-lookin artwork, step by step walkthrough...what else do you want from a strategy guide? Perfect guide for a perfect game.

A great book about a hasbeen, only good for AIC stories!!!!!
I have been a fan of Alice In Chains since they first came out. It's a shame Michael Starr really blew it so badly...but thank God he was replaced by a real bass player. All in all, this book is definitely worth reading. I found out what really happened to Layne Staley (the book predicted his death) and Jerry Cantrell (I hear he's now with Roadrunner Records...who in the world are they? and why was he shut out of Sony?) but who really cares about Michael Starr. It is definitely inside and accurate and if you're a serious fan I recommend it...otherwise, go read about Jim Morrison or Motley Crue. I'm glad someone published this. It looks sort of half-ass...coming from a serious drug addict and a tv news reporter but I'm sure it was difficult to pull out of Starr and his messed up mind and get it so convincingly. Where is Starr now...in some gutter somewhere?

Unchained Rocked
I honestly never read an entire book from start to finish but I read with great interest John Brandon's "Unchained. The story of Mike Starr and his rise and fall in Alice in Chains." Great book. From the moment I started reading, I did not set the book down until I was finished. I was extremely into learning the life of an outstanding bass player addicted to heroin and how it can destroy anyone. The final chapter was a great addition to fully understand the dead end road to heroin as described by Dr. Irving Schwartz. I highly recommend this book.

PRETTY SAD STORY ABOUT A GREAT BAND...
I barely even remember Mike Starr but Alice In Chains is the greatest band ever to come out of Seattle. All in all, I'm glad they replaced Starr with Inez to keep the band moving forward. Otherwise, we never would have gotten "No Excuses" "Grind" "Heaven Beside You" and the live stuff. Starr seems like a creep for blowing it so badly but I do feel sorry for him and his music will live forever. This guy had a little courage to tell the truth about Layne and Jerry when we couldn't get it from anywhere else...rolling stone, mtv, any seattle writers...that alone makes this book worth reading. But who really cares about Starr? I barely even remember him. Not the greatest rock and roll book I ever read but it's the first one I ever read cover to cover in a couple hours. I couldn't put it down.
