As published in the magazine(FHM May 2001)
The story of Chopper is very frightening and resulted in a massacre.A person can think may be he is insane but he wasn't like that.He did that as to out-jail himself.Actually he is highlly intelligent as he always strategise whatever he intended to do.He is cruel and behaves as a" satanist".I don't know how come he ende up having a wife.

A truly violent and psychopathic man, with a good cause.
I have read all of his books and he continues to astound me with his tales of unspeakable acts of violence and other criminal endeavors. He is truly a fascinating man who i believe is mostly(is the key word)justified in his actions.Adding to this I truly believe that the man is in the unfortunate situation of having the police holding a bias view towards his value to society which is based on past actions.I think that the police where too scared to release the man due to them being scared of him and also if he were to be released the coppers may have to try to stop him,god forbid that

The luckiest criminal to ever live
The autobiography of Mark Brandon Read 'Chopper' gives us a unique and seldom told insight into the criminal underworld of Australia, particularly Melbourne. The story begins by an infatuation with guns, explosives and military history crossed-wired with a young child who spent a lot of time drugged up in a psychiatric rehabilitation prison. Mix two vital ingredients together and you're left with a dangerous man.

Probably the most sought-after criminal in Australia, Chopper acquired his enemies through his friends' enemies and from robbing the bank robbers and other similar criminals. He's killed plentiful, but protests "I'm no murderer...I'm a garbage disposal expert" and from a certain perspective, his tales hold a strong point of view. The only men he has claimed to kill are murderers themselves, drug dealers and rapists. Any other men he has killed may well have been innocent, but Chopper was acting purely in self-defence.

Spending most of his life behind bars, Chopper inevitably made friends with other inmates and also confronted his worst enemies. Cleverly thought out antics and plots to burn down prisons are just a range of things Chopper and friends would execute in an attempt to relieve boredom and pass time. Nevertheless he claims: - "It is a madhouse in prison - and twice as bad outside,"

Packed with hilarious non-chronological stories about imbecilic big shot gangsters; Close attempts to wipe out Chopper; And a world where criminals fear Chopper over the law; this book will keep you thoroughly entertained from start to finish.

In his own words; "You can fool some of the people all of the time, And you can even fool all of the people some of the time, but in the real world of blood and guts you don't fool Chopper Read any of the time."

Passionless Prosecution
Author Jay Brandon sends state prosecutor Kelsey Thatch into the murky enclave of Galilee, deep in the Piney Woods of East Texas, to pinch hit for local DA Morgan Fletcher, who's got a major conflict of interest--his brother Billy's been indicted for a double murder. This is a whodunit and armchair sleuths too easily focus on Morgan instead of Billy. And that's without the aid of the Texas Ranger assigned to help Kelsey with the investigation. He only shows up long enough to say he can't stay. (A Texas Ranger derelict in his duty? Unbelievable!) Apparently, Brandon forgets about the Ranger to bring on a local deputy as his surrogate and Kelsey's romantic interest. To find the facts, Kelsey struggles with the social labyrinth of the inbred East Texas town. The plot twists become fairly predictable and the story never catches fire. In the end the reader really doesn't care what happens to any of them.

Cute
If you're looking for a light and frothy quote (or one with a bit more bite), this is a great choice. If you're seeking one with weight, choose something else. The book includes a good range of contributors, with mostly familiar names (Rock Hudson, Truman Capote). Interestingly enough, it also includes quotes from 'zines and chat rooms. However, it focuses mainly on gay men and lesbians, and is fairly stereotypical in that content. If you want to enjoy some cute quips, and don't expect too much, this book should have you set!

MCSE TCP/IP For Dummies®, Training Kit
I found this book to be quite informative and knowledgeable the extra material that comes with the book was also well set out and to the point. There is enough information to pass the exam with and the tests that come with the kit make you think. Once you have done a couple you can see what sections you need to brush up on.

The thing that I found wrong with the book was that the author was rather prescriptive in his view of what I should and would want to study and the book was outdated so what he was prescriptive about was not necessarily relevant now.

Andrea Cunningham has been ordered by her doctor to take two weeks to rest and relax. Andrea lives in Phoenix and is vice president of an advertisement agency. Her work is her life, but she needs a break. Andrea agrees to the two weeks and books a room at Prescott's Hamilton House Hotel.

Brandon Hamilton grew up in Prescott by left to work in New York City. Brandon's work was also his life until he showed all the warning signs of an early heart attack. Brandon left New York and returned to Prescott to renovate and run Hamilton House.

Brandon is immediately drawn to Andrea. Both never thought about settling down to marriage and babies. Brandon has his priorities in order once he realizes how deep his feelings are for Andrea. Andrea, however, has a hard time putting anything other than her career first.

After a week, both characters have conversations with themselves about how much they love each other to the point that it gets ridiculous. Andrea's reasons for denying her love for Brandon are hard to accept considering she suddenly changes her mind after suddenly remembering memories from her childhood. I hope the next book in the series is better.

Limited use
The games in the book were easy to use and well written. However, I expected a larger variety of topics. I won't be able to use the games very often since the focus is mainly on determining and making career decisions rather than progressing or advancing in your current career. I am a 'corporate trainer' and won't be training staff how to find new jobs!

Santeria from Africa to the New World: The Dead Sell Memories (Blacks in the Diaspora)
Published in Hardcover by Indiana University Press (October, 1993)

Stop With The Title
The title should tell you that this book is written by someone who doesn't have a clue to what he is writing about. How can anybody write a book on a subject they are not well schooled or experienced in? Because they can? The bigger question is how can something like this even get published? Santeria became Santeria when the slaves cleverly blended Ifa with Catholicism,Congo religions, etc. Santeria did not exist in Africa. So the title beginning with, "Santeria, From Africa To...is proof alone this guys a goof. Gonzalez Wippler's books will provide a good understanding about this misunderstood religion. I recommend reading "The Way Of The Orisa", by Phillip Neimark. Bypass Santeria and go the the source and study the original religion of Ifa.

NOT THE BEST BOOK ON THE SUBJECT
If youre looking for a book on santeria and want some introductery material on the religion, this book is NOT for you. It is a heavey read, often confusing and is best suited for classroom/academic situations as opposed to reading for pleasure. While the author has done excellent research, it is the academic, not the practical, who will benefit from this text. Alot of it is also a bunch of mumbo jumbo.

Scholarly Overview
I felt compelled to write in defense of George Brandon's scholarly work on Santeria after seeing it so absurdly misrepresented (...). Brandon is not under any misperceptions about the fact that Santeria emerged as a New World form of African Diasporan Religion. The book begins with an elaborate coverage of the African religious context from which Santeria and other African Diasporan Religions emerged via the transatlantic slave trade. While the title could be confusing to some, page 1 clarifies Brandon's stance that "Santeria belongs to the transatlantic tradition of the Yoruba religion...and should be seen as a variant of that religion." Brandon goes on to examine stages of Santeria's development in Cuba, taking into account religious, political, and economic influences. His book has thorough documentation from the most highly respected sources in African Diasporan Studies. If you are looking for a scholarly, though highly readable, historical overview of Santeria, this book can serve you well. It is not an unannotated, self-help book for Ifa or Santeria wannabes, so if you are looking for do-it-yourself-Santeria, look elsewhere. (...)

The Dummy book that was written by a Dummy!
I'll start by saying that I would recommend The msce books for dummies on networking essentials and the NT Workstation exams. I WOULD NOT recommend paying money for the MCSE NT Server 4.0 dummies book. This book is filled with errors, and inaccuracies. The short comings that I found are in the areas of troubleshooting, Managing resources, win95 admin utilities for NT, and Optimization. I would like to add that the dummies series of books are normally a very well written series that puts the facts in plain english (no techno-babble). This book fell well short of my expectations, if you don't want to spend a LOT OF MONEY taking THE Microsoft NT 4.0 SERVER exam more than once, I strongly suggest finding another study aid besides this book! I used the WINDOWS NT 4.0 MCSE STUDY GUIDE by Alan R. Carter ISBN 0764530879. This is a very well written, concise and easy to read book with lots of good hands on labs! I passed the 70-67 server test with some help from THIS book. Good luck.

909 on the NT Server 4.0 Exam using this book - alone.
Bottom line on any certification book, you're going to get out of it exactly what you put into it. That said, this is a very good preparatory book for the NT Server 4.0 exam. It offers complete and concise coverage of the topics needed to pass the exam. In fact, after reading this book, I merely reviewed the domain and group structure of NT out of the Dummies NT Server 4.0 Enterprise book, and I was able to pass my Enterprise exam with a score of 901. Not all of the Dummies MCSE series seems to be this good, but I was thoroughly impressed with this one. Overall, the information was well presented and explained. Mistakes were few and far between, the editing, however, could certainly be improved upon.

Excellent Book
Unlike most of the other reviewers, I thought that this was an excellent book. The order of content was well laid out. There may have been a few silly mistakes(there are in most books), but an intelligent person could figure them out. I highly recommend this as your first book on the subject.

50 Things to do With a Llama

Llama Bedtime Story
I purchased this book hoping to find out more about these animals and what they were used for around the world. I was disappointed to find that the book really catered to a young audience or someone with a short attention span. O.K. book for children. I ended up donating the book to our local library.

Children's Book?
When I bought this, I thought it was for adult readers while the content is more suitable for an 8 - 10 year old llama affectionado. Still an OK guide.

A sketchy book about llamas for children
I bought this book thinking it was a serious discussion of llama uses and the details of these uses, it turned out to be a whimsical and sketchy tribute to llamas by someone who clearly loves these animals.
