Better than no book, but in dire need of revision
This book is a better guide to fish identification than to fishing methods. Still, identifying certain fish is a challenge due to mismatched descriptions and illustrations. Under the Mediterranean spearfish, you find the right description but a photo of a gar. Under Atlantic sailfish, you find a photo of a juvenile fish recognizable only to marine biologists. Or try identifying a wahoo from the dim and distant silhouette provided. Discussions and illustrations of tackle are also full of errors: a flying gaff is pictured without its quick-release handle, and outriggers are described as "often fitted but seldom used," whereas the photo on p. 58 shows outriggers in use but describes them as "rod-holders directed outward." Better than no book at all, but in dire need of revision.

It was great it told alot to fishermen
This book is great. It is very good for the beginer fishermen. It shows alot of fish people should know about. If your a fishermen you will want this book.

BOOK HAS A LOT OF INTERESTING FEATURES
THE BOOK IS VERY WELL WRITTEN.IT GIVES A LOT OF VALUABLE INFO ON HOW TOO USE PROPER TERMINAL GEAR AND TROLLING TACTICS. IT COVERS A LOT OF DIFFERENT TACTICS FOR DIFFERENT SPIECES OF FISH. THE PICTURES OF THE DIFFERENT FISH ARE SUPERB. I WOULD RECCOMEND THIS BOOK FOR ANY AVID FISHERMAN.

Poor theory, good applications
This text was used at the University of Wisconsin-Madison for an honors OB course. It served the class well by providing relevant and often humorous applications of theory. However, the descriptions of the actual theories themselves were weak and vague often referring to other concepts not yet learned.

Alright
I used this book at Cornell's school of Industrial and Labor Relations in an OB course. It was ok, but I have seen better. The examples are mostly revelant, but sometimes it strays from the covered material. A good book to use to review for the final exam, but if your teacher draws tests from their own lectures, make sure you utilize the index in the back!

Poor text for HR
This was the text for my HR class in 2003. I am pursing my Masters. I found the text to have good examples of HR practices however, to be unorganized in fashion. It was not an easy text to follow as it jumps around a lot. It also introduces many ideas and then tells the reader that it will address the idea in a later chapter. This was very distracting. The practice test from the website are very helpful.

Human Resource Management
As a graduate MBA student using this text in the Fall, 2002 semester, I enjoyed the subject matter covered in the textbook. It opened new points of interest related to Human Resource Management that I have not learned in other business classes.

Jung's Typology in Perspective
Published in Hardcover by Sigo Pr (October, 1989)
Author: Angelo Spoto
Amazon base price: $27.50
Buy one from zShops for: $49.50
Average review score:

Pretentious and boring.
This author, perhaps not meaning to, paints Jung as quaintly disturrbed, and with a disturbingly authoritarian world view -- qualities the author seems to have as well. This is illogically written, pretentious and over all a boring waste of time and money. I rate it 1.

Destined to become a classic in the field.
Mr. Spoto successfully elaborates Jung's original work in typology and provides a sturdy bridge to a deeper understanding of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. I consider the book to be a stimulating read and would expect those who take seriously Jungian psycholgy or the Myers Briggs Type Indicator to find great benefit from the author's insights. I rate it 5 stars.

Organizational Behavior

Common sense in a bound volume
This book discusses a topic that is a grab bag of different disciplines and has nice illustrations but i dont know if it is worth close to $100. Anyone who has significant work history intuitively knows a bulk of the material in this book. The book could be condensed to include the hard data and scientific findings and leave out much of the intuitively obvious commentary. This book is no worse than scores of similar textbooks on 'soft'topics but with the way prices are going many students are captive buyers, forced to buy textbooks at the teacher's request for perhaps questions used in the book for grading purposes while the general info can readily be found in college libraries.

Scholar's choice
The book may be a good choice for a scholar of OB. If you are a graduate student like I am, you may find it difficult to follow and overloaded with scientific terms. To my mind, the simpler the better, which this book is not.

Novell info, at a price
This book offers a tremendous amount of helpful content. However, that content is often blurred by bad attitude and poor writing. Throughout the book, the author makes remarks that can easily be seen as pot-shots at other Novell "experts". This attitude clouds the issues at hand, and in some places completely confuses the reader.

Even worse than the attitude-filled prose are the many typos and poor editing in this book. In some places, these typos and misplaced words completely change the context of the sentence, and the user is left to make up his/her own decision on what was intended.

Buy this book if you must, but don't rely on it as your sole source of info. Novell should take responsibility for technical books sold for its benefit. In the last 10 years, I've read a lot of technical documentation, and this qualifies as one of the top 5 worse books from an easy-of-reading standpoint.

Good--but not quite the Whole Story
I enjoyed reading this book...I learned a lot about the early history of San Diego, but I don't think this is the whole story of the Alessios in Califonria. What about the later years? The arrests, etc. Didn't one of the brothers do time for racketeering or something like that? Anyway, it is still interesting--and I guess we all get to decide what we want to tell in writing our own life story.

Synchronicity: The Journeys of Two Souls
Published in Paperback by iUniverse.com (August, 2001)
Authors: Vincent D'Angelo and Vin D'Angelo
Amazon base price: $11.95
Average review score:

Thought provoking travel through time
Synchronicity, by Vin D'Angelo, is a little book with a big heart. Both poignant and thought provoking, this love story explores some of the possibilities of re-incarnation and the reason to re-live a life with others from our soul group. D'Angelo juxtaposes current events with life in the future to show how the soul carries memories, feelings and beliefs into each life experience. It is an invitation to appreciate the opportunities in our own present day actions.

No Way!
I bought this tape for my boyfriend in hopes he would understand women better. Not this tape. Although it started well with a great understanding of the challenges couples face, it quickly lead to the only solution to handle a problem is to dump her. This tape was no help and would do more damange than good.

Hogwash
I bought this cassette tape in the hopes that my boyfriend would understand me a little better. Although it started well with a comprehensive understanding of the differences of men and women in today's society. It soon turns into an insult to women. Joseph Angelo's solution for any relationship difficulty is "dump her". He describes women as insane and liars. I would not recommend this to anyone that would like to help or improve his or her relationship.

An Author who relates to an honest breakthrough!!
Finally a book written by a man who obviously won the battle of True Love, verses Societal Manhood! This book is written so that any man can understand the changes that need to be made in order to have peace in their lives and tranquility in their hearts! There may actually be a chance for women to find a Real Man out there after all!
