A Wonderful Book
This is the most easy to read & comprehend book about houseplants that I've ever seen. Each plant is shown in color and rated on an very easy - very difficult basis, which is extra important when deciding on which plants to purchase. The book tells you commom problems of each plant and tips & hints on how to care for them. I check with this book before I purchase ANY plant!

A must buy for the houseplant lover!

We now have plants that are thriving!
Before this book, the few plants we had were just barely surviving. Plants received as gifts invaribly died. It was horrible.

Then we got this book. We have filled our house with a variety of planets and our plants are doing extremely well. We now give cuttings and detailed care instructions to other people who love plants. Evans' book is very easy to use, it is an extremely attractive book with a color photo of each plant, and we consult it all of the time both as a reference and as guide to which plants we would like to add to the house. It is a pleasure just leafing through this book!

Comprehensive help/advise
This is a great reference book for all levels of houseplant lovers (I have about 30 houseplants spread throughout my small house). I think the most useful part of this book is how the author rates each of the 200+ plants referenced as "Very Easy, Easy, Difficult, Very Difficult." These ratings refer to the ease (or difficulty) in growing these plants indoors. I've already consulted the book probably a dozen times before buying a particular plant, i.e., if I know a plant is going to be "difficult" or "very difficult," I usually think twice about the amount of time and work that might be involved with sustaining the plant.

In addition to ranking the plants like I've described, the author lists common problems associated with each plant, the fixes for these problems, how to proprigate, the average life-span, where to place the plant, how big/small you can expect the plant to get, and much much more information.

I'm a plant lover and consider myself knowledgeable on houseplants, but I get this book out at least once a week to either reference something about my existing plants or plan my next purchase. I enjoyed this book so much, I recently purchased one as a gift for my mother, who is also a plant lover.

If Amazon has this book in stock (it frequently goes on backorder I've noticed), get it. You won't be disappointed.

Wow!
I was spellbound by the biography of John McAfee on TV and simply had to find out more about him. I borrowed his book from a friend at work and finished it in one sitting. All I can say is WOW! I feel like my brain has been sucked out, rearranged, and siphoned back inside my head. I sat, still, after putting the book down, and felt like I was in a dream. I was awe struck. This book has given me glimpses of the reality behind our computers that I never dreamed of. My problem now is (since it's out of print and I can't find it anywhere for sale) how do I tell my friend that I lost his copy:)

Profound description of virus technology. Incredibly good.
This book is a mind blower. McAfee's genius shines through every page. It brings computer technology to life in a way that's indescribable. You have to read it to understand. Beg, borrow, steal or buy this book. You won't regret it.

Delightful Reading
I dug this book up at the library after the recent PBS television special highlighting John McAfee and his early shareware successes. I was amazed at the insights McAfee had at the dawn of the virus age. Over ten years ago he acurately predicted almost everything that has occured in the area of computer security and hacker intrusions, including viruses like the "Love Bug", and the confusion surrounding the millenium bug. Once I started the book I was unable to put it down. It's written in an easy to read style and unfolds the world of virus writers and virus technology in a compelling stream of revelations. While this book is one of the older books on viruses, it is a fresh and current today as any book on the subject. If you have even the remotest interest in the subject you've gotta get this one.

A stunning visual record of a great American design team
This is THE book about Charles and Ray Eames. Beautifully printed and designed and with more than 3500 photos to explore the work, year by year, of these two famous designers. The range of work is amazing, furniture (domestic and commercial) films, exhibitions, architecture, books even toys. I have a set of his 1952 House of Cards, a deck of fifty-four playing-card size cards that can be interlocked to create three dimensional structures, a very simple idea beautifully conceived.

I think the book easily reflects the joy and stimulation that Charles and Ray Eames got out of the creative process.

The Definitive Text
An exceptionally comprehensive year-by-year summary of the work of the Eames Office from the early 1940s to the late 1970s. Covers everything equally -- from wartime plywood experiments and herman miller furniture to toys, exhibitions, and, of course, films. A must for anyone interested in Eames design. Full of hard-to-find information and photos of rarely seen items.

Excellent Survey of Eames Studio
This is an excellent survey of the work of the Eames studio. It provides a chronological survey of the furniture, films, exhibits, and other work of the studio. It even provides a listing of the Eames staff at each point and time. Lavishly illustrated, it provides photographs of furniture, exhibits, and stills from the over 100 films produced by the Eames's. Highly recommended as the one book you must have about their work.

A great theologian
I can't say that I have read this book...yet, but what I can say is that anyone who endeavours to read any work of Dr. Haykin is in for a real treat. He was my prof. for Church History, and a man whom I am thoroughly impressed with. He is a humble, diplomatic, professional person with a strong heart for God and His glory.
His knowledge on Church History is incredible, especially his understanding of the Reformation, the Puritans, and the Particular Baptist movements. But he cannot be limited there even. I could literally listen to him speak for hours.
I strongly recommend anything by Dr. Haykin as you will become well informed on the topic that he writes about, whether it's Cromwell, Bunyon, Edwards or anyone else.

God bless and enjoy.

I LOVE IT
The Pilgrim's Progress is the 2nd most famous book in the world. John Bunyan is a genious and the arguments in the book are very convincing and hard to deny. Anyone who believes in "free will" would be turned around if they read this book. It clearly explains that we do not choose God, He chooses us, or rather, he CHOSE us before the foundations of the world. Everything in his book is scriptual and I love it!

Bunyan, my brother
John Bunyan's journey toward saving faith parallels my own more closely than any other fellow sinner's. When I first read his story, I grabbed a pen and filled the margins, and all the while my heart whispered, "Comrade!" At once, I was comforted by the realization that though Bunyan was long gone, there had been another human being who had known the same fearsome battles waged on our behalf by the God who never relinquishes what belongs to Him. Those years when I had felt strange and apart from other believers, suddenly became "safe" to recall. For anyone who is still holding on to the arrogant belief that a person chooses God, rather than the other way around, Bunyan's story is for you. It puts all arguments to rest, leaving only humility and worship in its wake.

captivating!!
Anyone who is interested in taking up photography should have this book. There are many emotions "pictured" in this book, a wonderful and artful way for people to get in touch with themselves.

Fine Artistic Commitment
When a Photographer has done the hard work necessary to become a portraitist for many of our modern musicians, screen personalities and others of note there is always a danger that his or her work will lose its innovative drive. Greg Norman has managed to avoid this pitfall and has retained his ability to make deep, searing penetrations into the personae of his subjects. There is a natural intensity to Norman's work that often disguises the tremendous control he actually exerts over the process.

Greg Norman's career started as an amateur taking shots at rock'n'roll concerts. He went on to document the protest era, film work in Los Angeles and portraiture. Always showing a fine sense of the moment, his images breathe with life. He works almost entirely in black and white, creating strong, graphic prints.

I love the perfect contrast of a shot of the Barbi Twins, the incredible expression on a photo of Nina Hagen, the frequent glimpses of Keanu Reeves, and many, many others. "Inside Life" has about 175 beautifully printed photographs in it, and very little distracting text. There is a foreword by John Waters, an introduction by Dave Fulton, and a short afterthoughts section for reflections from some of his subjects.

"Inside Life" is a remarkable testimony to the work of one of America's notable photographers during the 90's. It has value as a source of inspiration for other photographers as well as being a beautiful coffee table book.

A great book
If you are thinking of buying this book because you are a Keanu Reeves fan, then go ahead and do so. It is definately worth it! It is a great quality book.

Inspiring
This book told the of the accounts of a man dedicated to One. This is no ordinary account of a missionary in a foreign land. We read of his good days and bad days. We see John pouring out himself to the people of Norther Afghanistan. We see him at times fustrated and angry. John came accross as just a regular person with an irregular call on his life. He is God's man in Northern Afghanistan.
This book will brings both laughter and tears. It will have you cheering and booing.

A Picture of Reality in Afghanistan
I hope many will have a chance to read this book. You will get a glimpse of a life changed by God, and how this young man in his desire to serve the underprivileged found himself serving in a Northern Afghanistan refugee camp. The description and stories from the refugee camp are quite interesting and some are inspirational. For those of us who struggle with the question of why God allows all the problems we see in our world, perhaps the reader will find some answers. Hopefully, we will all be motivated and driven to serve and give to those who are less fortunate.

Unveiled Misconceptions
Not only is this book an interesting and insightful picture into John Weaver's experience, it also reveals the true motive behind so much of the work going on all over Central Asia. I am so grateful for John's gift of articulation and his committment to be honest and bold about the commission we have all been given--to use our blessings and resources to bless and help others in the world. This book is certainly not one meant only for religious readers! Definitly an important read for secular as well as Islamic background people. It gives insight into the heart of relief and community development work ... and it, more importantly, unveils the often misinterpreted heart of love and compassion that many Western aid workers have for peoples who are different than them!

Nothing Reads Like A Deere
The Beetles Anthology may have a great beat, but Genuine Value: The John Deere Journey is easier to dance to. It's a must for anyone who bleeds green (or industrial yellow). Genuine Value takes you on a pictoral journey through 163 years of history of one of America's oldest and most respected companies. Great photos, inspiring prose, the only thing missing is more pics of the company's many construction products. The back-of-the-book listing of the corporation's 63,676 current employees and retirees is a nice tribute to the many men and women who have and continue to delver genuine value to hundreds of thousands of Deere customers worldwide.

A photographically illustrated history and tribute
Genuine Value: The John Deere Journey is a magnificent, 286-page, photographically illustrated history and tribute to one of America's most successful and enduring corporations. This is the story of the John Deere contributions to agricultural technology, documented with historical and vintage photos from a John Deere Model A tractor working a field during the Great Depression to today's John Deere high tech, computer-controlled manufacturing line. Of special note is a 42-page timeline describing significant financial and corporate events in the company's history decade-by-decade, and includes a pictorial review of the products of each era. There's even a section which includes the names of every living retiree and employee as of January 1, 2000. Genuine Value will be read and browsed through with enthusiasm by anyone who's life or whose parent's lives where touched by John Deere.

John Deere-The story of the revolution!
I've been a John Deere man for forty years and have often wondered what farming would have been like if John Deere had not revolutionized the farm machinery industry in 1960. Genuine Value tells the story of that revolution. It is full of great photographs of tractors and farming practices (old and new) like many tractor books, but it is more. It is also a unique look at and tribute to the people and business behind the product lines and factories. I love that it contains the names of all the people who have helped to produce these great products, both current employees and retirees.

well thought out
This book contains several rarely seen pictures of the band. Some are action shots, while others are stills.. All in all, this book captures the G'N'R' attitude very well!

An exellent book
As a huge fan of gnr, i was anxious to get some kind of book about them. I had all the records and even some rare bootlegs, but i could not find any literature about them. When i stumbled across this book at this site, it was an instant buy. i was very impressed at the quality and depth of Robert John's photographs. I have happened to see GN'R live and Robert John's photos certainly capture their flare and stage presence. A very good book. If you are looking for a biography go buy "The most Dangerous band in the world" or"The True story" If you want a good book of photos spanning GN'R wildest days, i suggest you buy this.

Brilliant! The pictures are beautiful.
This is the only GNR book I have. I have only started liking them 6 months ago and I'm surprised that book stores still have GNR material around. I'm positive that any fan would love this book. The book has GNR pictured from their early days in 1985 to almost the end in 1992. I love the fact that Robert John shows them from the beginning with their teased hair, and lipstick to a more mature look as they get older. The book has concert photos, backstage pics, GNR rehersing and even some more personel ones with Axl by himself. If you are looking for a biography of the band, then don't buy this one. On the bottom of the pictures Robert John tells you the place and year it was taken but otherwise it is strictly just a photo book, nothing else. I highly recomend it in any way.
