Excellent reference
This text has managed to do the impossible - succinctly summarize the vast and complicated field of GU oncology into a single volume readable precis. The chapters cover all aspects of the relevant malignancies complete with clinical manifestations of disease, current staging systems, pathology considerations and finally standard, novel, and experimental treatment protocols. Fun.
These plays are fun to read. They might seem old fashioned because they were written two hundred years ago, but actually I think they are relevant today and any day. I've read all four plays already dozens of times, and I wish more people could become acquainted with this period's marvelous literature.

4 1/2* The Play's the Thing--and More!
This book transports you to 1602 London and its famous Globe theater, the venue for some of Shakespeare's greatest plays. One of its many strengths is that it is told in first person narrative by multiple characters: A young male character actor playing a woman as well as Richard Burbage, perhaps the most famous Shakespearian actor of the time, an apple seller struggling to make a living during a time of plague, a wealthy theater-goer and a poor one, a pickpocket, and Burbage's brother, Cuthbert, the force being the building of the Globe.

The narratives and sidebars are full of interesting facts and" asides, from the major types of plays and play-goers ("people whose clothes were thought to be too expensive [for their station]...were arrested and fined." There's an excellent section on Richard Burbage and his techniques, along with details on stage production, the history upon which Henry V was based, and the tricks that kept audiences spellbound.

Highlighting both the high and low culture/classes of the period, "Welcome to the Globe" gives a fresh and colorful presentation on a subject many school-age children might otherwise find distant and boring. There's an intimacy to the narratives that complements the panoramic view of the broader culture in which the plays thrived. The book may interest readers into further exploration not only of the theater, but of culture, history, and science. The scope and quality here yields yet another DK hit!

Enamelling (The New Craft Series)
Published in Hardcover by Lorenz Books (1998)
Authors: Denise Palmer, Peter Williams, and Jane Moore
Amazon base price: $16.95
Used price: $35.00
Average review score:

Quality book with fun and worthwhile projects.
This book contains projects that are easy to get started on, and are very worthwhile projects to complete. The author makes it so easy. The language is concise. The photography is stunning, and illustrates the needed techniques very well.

I do not know of any other enamelling book that has projects of this quality. You would be proud to give these to your friends and relatives. By making simple adaptions you could create your own designs. The projects require simple tools often found in consumer jewellry work.

Easy to read, very well edited, richly illustrated, great projects, great price. What else could you ask for?

impersonating Shakespeare: a bastardisation of the Bard
Spawning forth from the new breed of cloned critics, Peter Holland IS William Shakespeare. Working alongside the man who gave the world Dolly the Sheep, Holland has altered his genetic code to that of Shakespeare, gleaned from the first folio of one Shakey's toenails. Holland (hereafter known as Shax90) tours around various theatre bars and gives the definitive account of what it is like to be the reborn Bard in fin-de-siecle Nineties Britain. Foreword by Tony Blair.

The European Organ, 1450-1850
This is an excellent source of information in preparing for masters or doctoral oral exams in organ. Peter Williams discusses the nationalistic differences in organ design and construction as the pipe organ came to be what it is today. Many examples of stop lists, features, and specific builders are discussed. This book needs to be in print again! It is absolutely necessary.

a love theory divine
Iraqi chilled with the best of 'em.
a dervish that wandered into the same konya that was home to Rumi. a student of Rumi's friend Sadruddin Qunyawi(disciple to Ibn Arabi). Iraqi's Flashes are the synthesis of Ibn Arabi's metaphysics and the love theory from Ahmed Ghazali's Sawanih(the oldest persian work on sacred love by Abu Hamid Ghazali's younger and more mystical bro). while Chittick's great prose translations may never compare to the beauty of the persian originals, the powerful ideas expressed in the poetry trigger enlightening thoughts and awaken the soul.
so...while Muslim philosophers say technical things like:"GOD IS THE NECESARRY EXISTANT" or "ALL EXISTANCE IS a Manifestation of DIVINE ATTRIBUTES". the poet Iraqi says NOTHING EXISTS BUT LOVE.
You are a LOVER, you just don't know it YET.
The book is smack in the face of all who say Islam is a religion of Hate that believes God as a distant vengeful one to obey out of fear.
peace.

Figured Bass Accompaniment
Published in Paperback by Columbia University Press (1971)
Authors: P. Williams and Peter Williams
Amazon base price: $68.00
Average review score:

The best continuo manual around
It is a great pity that this book is currently out of print. It is the most helpful and thorough "how-to" book for basso continuo accompaniment that I have seen. As well as giving many graded examples and exercises from original sources, Williams includes notes on style and interpretation, which are a great help. I would recommend this book to anyone who is studying harpsichord.
