A really neat book!!
P.W Atkinks is one of the most respected authors in the field of chemistry textbooks. He has a rare talent of explaing complicated subjects like physical chemistry and molecular quantum mechanics in a way students can understand. This book is different however. In its pages you will find picture of common and not so common molecules followed by a 1-2 page description of this molecule (where it is found, some history, its significance). I read this book when I was a seventh grader (8-9 years later I am a senior chemistry major)and absolutely loved it. It won't bog you down with confusing technical details but rather will stimulate your curiosity. The ultimate molecular museum!
Explains the basics of chemistry better than anyone else
An easy read (a bright sixth grader should be able to handle it) that gives a better understanding how chemicals work than a year of honors college chemistry.
A Patient's Guide to Dental Implants
Published in Paperback by Addicus Books (01 April, 2003)
Amazon base price: $14.95
Average review score:
Very informative
I had a general idea about how dental implants work, but this book really educated me. If you're thinking about implants, this book will really help you understand what to expect. Easy to read and understand.
The only book you'll need to read on the subject
I have heard so much about dental implants in the past few years, with more people asking for them, and more dentists offering them. I have a crown that really should be replaced, and I wanted to get an implant. This seemed like the best book to read on the subject, based on the title, so I got a copy. It's everything the title says. Easy to understand, a quick read and a thorough explanation ... in language that I can understand. Thinking about implants? Read this book!
Reading Romantics: Texts and Contexts

Peter Manning is a scholar without parallel!
Professor Peter Manning has allowed me to appreciate and understand romantic literature to an extent which I would have never thought possible. Professor Manning's passion for the subject shines through every sentance in this scholarly masterpiece. Dr. Manning's years of study and reflection in the Lake District of England, a source of inspiration (and often an adress) for many of the masters in his study no doubt contributed to his abilty to achieve a higher level of understanding of the beautiful poetry to which he has devoted his professional life. Dr. Manning represents all that is good about scholarship and intellectual pursuit in this country.
My Dad is Great!
Peter Manning is a deeply insightful human being and a great father. His cutting analysis and exploration of the works and lives of the Romantic Poets is must reading for anyone who considers him or herself to have even the smallest of romantic leanings.

Richard Ballantine: Cycling's Friendly Fanatic
I've been a cyclist for about twenty five years and in that time I've managed to accumulate a library of books on cycling. Books on everything from custom frames to offroad riding technique. But by far the most enjoyable to read has been this and several others by Mr.Ballantine. Many of the newer cycling books have a compulsive, competitive tone to them, as if the authors assumed the reader was bent on entering the Tour de France. In contrast, Dick Ballantine infuses the reader with his sense of joy and enthusiasm about the pure act of riding and the pure form of the diamond frame bicycle, a design that has accomodated over a hundred years worth of cyclists. But he also manages to cover practical matters--everything from hub overhauls to recumbents. The first chapter is entitled
Get A Bike! Since I first started reading Mr.Ballantine, I've "gotten" five and partly due to him, I've loved them all.

Best character/diversity/art bicycle book...
This book should have never been let go out of print. R's 'Ultimate' book does not replace it. This book has much writing of great character and insight. It covers the whole rainbow of cycling with proper respect and depth, with particular nods to velomobiles, trikes, recumbents and folders. This edition also has the finest assortment of B&W bike sketch art ever published, with superb highlights by the incomparable PAT.

Harrison's Shakespeare
This is the version used in my college Shakespeare courses, way back in 1972! It was lost in a housefire, and I haven't seen it since. The one hundred page introduction is dense and rich in historical detail. This IS the best version I have ever encountered. What a find!
This is an excelent compilation of the works of Shakespeare
This is the most excelent compliation of the works of William Shakespeare that I have ever seen. The introductions to the works are thorough and the footnotes are easily understandable. I highly recomend this book to any Shakespeare fan

Memories of Vail
This is a must read book for any Vail skier. I am the son of one of Vail's pioneers (Sigi Faller) and enjoyed many wonderful days on the Mountain in the "Glory Years". The book provides a perspective of Amercian history (Camp Hale and WWII) and relates a romantic business success story, especially for those who are independent, entrepreneural and have a love of the outdoors. It's a fascinating account of finding recreational "gold" in the Colorado Rockies. An excellent collection of photos is included.
If you're a ski fanatic - you'll love this book
This book captures the spirit of Peter Seibert and Earl Eaton and the early days of their lives and their dream to build Vail and Beaver Creek. The trimuphs are great. Hiking Vail for the first time with skins on the skis and seeing the bowls, what a trip! Getting fired from his dream and then getting asked back during the '89 World Championships - wow!! - what a roller coaster of emotions. If you love great stories and you know the Vail Valley and the ski industry - this book is a must read!!
Wie, bitte? : Introductory German for Proficiency

Excellent Beginning German Program
As a student of Professor Richardson for the last two years, as a student of several languages, and a French major, I can say with some experiece that this is an excellent beginning language text and workbook. The books in combination with the tapes help to accelerate a student's vocabulary aquisition and is able to teach even the trickiest nuances of the language through a series of practical scenarios. I visited Germany and Austria after only a few months with the Wie Bitte program and was able to interact with German speakers quite well. Wie Bitte provides the motivated beginning German student with a solid basic foundation in the German language.

William Morris: (1834-1896) (Big Series)

The work of William Morris is shown beautifully in this gorg
I enjoyed both the text and the pictures in this book. Certainly this is a fine show of Morris's decoration. It is also a good starting place to begin exploring the Arts & Crafts movement that followed from Morris's work.
SO MODERN
We would need William Morris'ideas nowdays. He understood the importance of hands and mind in art and hated the guilty factories and industries that killed arts and crafts...that's why he is so modern...Was he wrong? Absolutely not!
