AWESOME!
THIS PACK MEANS SO MUCH TO THE FUTURE OF WOLVES! THE EDUCATION & NEW FOUND KNOWLEDGE GAINED FROM THIS PACK, ALONE, IS THE FOOT IN THE DOOR FOR WOLF RECOVERY IN THE LOWER 48. NEVER HAS A WOLF PACK BEEN SO CLOSELY STUDIED WHILE STILL LIVING A NATURAL LIFE. THIS PARTICULAR BOOK IS NOTHING SHORT OF AWESOME! THE PICTURES ARE AMAZING, AS IS THE ENTIRE BOOK! A TRUE INSPIRATION! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK FOR ALL, THAT MANY MORE WILL UNDERSTAND THE TRUE LIFE OF THE WOLF.

The Sawtooth Wolves
This book is awesome!! I have sponsored the pack for nine years now and never get tired of looking at the book. The photography is exceptional and for anyone who loves these majestic wolves they have to buy the book!!

Big Wow! Awoooooooooooo!!!
This is about the most interesting book I have ever read! I started reading and I couldn't put it down! The pack of wolves takes you to daring moments when the pack mobs Lakota or quiet times when two wolves rest together. They are not the horrid creatures imagined in stories, but beautiful creatures that this book explains.

Spiritual Formation Workbook exercises useful
The practical exercises in the Christian traditions are useful, and cause growth. (Romans 12:2) This book is useful for any spiritual formation group and increases awareness of need to grow in Discipleship. Have used exercises in my Walk to Emmaus(spiritual formation/accountability) reunion group--leads to Christian action.

Learning Balance in the Christian Walk
This book will help you discover where you need more balance in your Christian walk. As you learn to practice the 6 different traditions; social, contemplative, holiness, charismatic, evangelical, and incarnational, your walk with the Lord will become more balanced. This has been a life-changing study for me!

This has been update and replaced.
This is a very good book for starting a Bible study that is labor intensive versus study intensive. I do recommended this for all people to lead after they have to a personal study with Celebration of Discipline materials. To my knowledge, this version is out of print because it has been revised and replaces by ISBN 0062516264. This new book includes the sixth tradition of incarnationalism. Also recommended.

Beautiful with great information
Ancient West Mexico is a fascinating region that has been overlooked by many scholars through the years. Finding very good information about the cultures of West Mexico is difficult. This book is wonderful...it has the latest archaeological information, beautiful photographs of the pieces and the landscape, and great detailed illustrations and diagrams. I often teach about the ancient cultures of Mesoamerica and this is a perfect resource.

A step forward for West Mexican History
This work provides a nice look at a part of what we know about this area. Western Mexico has a largely unappreciated history even among scholars in the mesoamerican field. It's probably safe to say that the written history of this area has only begun to develope despite a long record of investigation.

The photography in this work is excellent. The text is informative. Anyone interested in this area owes it to themselves to read this.

beautifully excecuted book with a well written text
This book is a delight to read and look at the photographs. Very unusual samples of ceramic art. The text is as the title indicates rather on the archeological side. The only thing missing is a description of the actual clay technique used (coils). Highly recommended.

Required reading for derm residents!
I just read this new edition from cover-to-cover in preparation for the dermatology boards and I am very impressed! The new edition is updated not only in therapeutics but also in the latest in genetic defects underlying the genodermatoses that the boards love so much. It concisely covers clinical dermatology in a very readable format. One thing it lacks is an organized chapter on therapeutics.

A must for your dermatology library!
This edition was long overdue. The previous edition was excellent, and this one adds alot to it. Many updated therapies...several new chapters...a slightly different format...excellent new edition. The only criticism I would have is that there are still no color pictures in it. I would recommend this for all dermatology libraries and would consider it a must for all dermatology residents.

a must for dermatology residents...
this book is essential for all dermatology residents...the new edition is out now which i highly recommend, being that it now has more chapters and many updated therapies...this is a book you read from cover to cover...

A Must For Anyone Who Loves Puns
An absolutely brilliant collection of puns riddles and groaners from two award winners in the field.Richard Letterer is the author of the acclaimed "Anguished English" series and is probably the most quoted author on internet joke lists. He is a recipient of the Punster of the Year from The International Save The Pun Foundation, the premier body for paronomasiacs. James Ertner placed second in the 2000 International O. Henry Punoffs and is the author of a previous animal pun book. All the jokes are clean enough for a nine year old but sophisticated enough for English scholars. What a bargain. Over 4000 riddles and groaners, over 600 pages for $. The paperback sells for $ and is worth it. I would rate this as the top book of puns available today in print or by electronic media

the biggest and best I've ever read
My biggest concern is that amazon is not crediting the real brain behind this book- james ertner.

the book is absolutely the best- I chuckled all the way thru. there is material here for business talks, church talks, and great laughs around the dining room table- highly recommend it.

and why not credit jim ertner as well as mr lederer?

Funniest and punniest
This is by far the funniest -- and punniest -- book I've ever seen. And over 4,500 jokes for only [...] makes this the bargain of the millennium.

A Great Storyteller
Mario Benedetti, a Uruguayan writer, is well known in South America and Mexico. This is one of his rare collections available in English. This story collection presents a perspective not often used by US writers: that underlying paranoia, cycnicism, fatalism that anyone who has lived through the dictators and hyperinflation and tragic history of South America and Central America is well acquainted with. With recent events, many who have never had to live in fear are now faced with the kinds of dark powers that many others in our world have known for years. Notwithstanding the darker tone and sadness he evokes, the writing is superb and highly recommended.

REVIEW QUOTES
"Benedetti is Uruguay's most important current writer."--Multicultural Review

"This superb collection...brings together tales of urban romance and political strife from the beloved Uruguayan writer. The fictions, most only a few pages long, are masterful in form, at once succinct and evocative. Many of the early tales...are reminiscent of Kafka-though with none of the weighty mood. Benedetti's language is light and playful..., full of humorous generosity to the reader." --Review of Contemporary Fiction

"What remains...is the singular and surprising nature of Benedetti's stories." --The New York Times Book Review

One of the finest living writers blends irony, compassion.
Uruguayan author Mario Benedetti, one of the most prolific and respected Latin American writers, is little known in the U.S.A. Of 50 years worth of fiction, plays and essays, the two novels published here are long out of print. This collection of 27 short stories should go a long way to bringing him the larger English-speaking audience he so merits.

Benedetti's early work (1940s and 50s) was rooted in and reflective of the middle class milieu of Montevideo. Like all successful regionalists, his keen eye and ear for local ideosyncracy could be bitingly on- target, while transcending the specific to express universal themes. The upheavals of the 1960s added a political focus that was sharpened when he was exiled (and his work banned) as a result of Uruguay's 1973 coup. His writings on political repression and on expatriate life display the same combination of dry irony and warm compassion as his earlier work; while themes change, there is a continuity of artistic vision.

Having enjoyed Benedetti in Spanish, I can recommend this collection. It offers a good cross-section, ranging from 1949 to 1987. I paid particular attention to translation on three of my favorites: "The Budget," a wickedly funny sendup of stultified bureaucracy; "Requiem Over Tea," a beautiful, sad story as told by a 13 year old; "Just Kidding," the chilling tale of a joke gone awry in the era of wiretaps and detention. Throughout, the author's original rythms, his strong sense of narrative voice, and distinctive use of vernacular came across very well.

fantastic
This book is a must for anyone who reads and studies Confederate Civil War History. I have been looking for a book such as this for a long time. It's a great reference.

Great Book
This is simply a phenomenal piece of work! If you love Confederate history or genealogy, this book is a must for your bookshelf!

Excellent reference.
The authors have researched and visited the grave sites of all 425 Confederate generals, even those overseas.
Each is listed complete with a picture of the man, details of his life and military career (with some corrections of errors on gravestones), name and location of the cemetery, (with detailed directions to the obscure ones), and a photo of the grave marker.
The basic layout is by State, but the Table of Contents, Alphabetical Listing, and Index make it easy to find any information. The usefulness is further augmented by tables showing where the generals were born, died, and are buried, the region and branch where they served, when and where mortal injury took place, (where applicable), and the numbers laid to rest in various types of cemeteries.
In sum, an admirable production, highly recommended for libraries and military history collections, and a valuable addition to anyone's Civil War bookshelf.

(The "score" rating is an unfortunately ineradicable feature of the page. This reviewer does not "score" books.)

Couldn't Put It Down
Very good and fast moving adventure of evil and good. Once you started the book it was hard to put down. Every time I walked passed the book I had to pick it up and read a couple more pages....need #2 to come about....I love a book that everyone is not killed off.

An adventure from start to finish
I thuroughly enjoyed this action fantasy adventure. Although this novel is not my usual genre of literature, I must admit it was a joy to read. It keeps you in the thick of the adventure from page to page. I highly recommend this book to any that want a great story with action, romance and conquest.

Fantistic journey from front to back!
This is not my usual type of reading material but I thuroughly enjoyed this fabulous fantasy. It takes you on a journey into the battle that goes on daily as evil tries to overtake good. This is one of few novels I just couldn't put down. Prepare yourself for action, romance and victory. A deffinate recommended read.

One of the best introductory inorganic textbooks around
I bought this book on the recommendation of one of my chemistry advisors. I must say, it is one of the best books available on the market for inorganic chemistry. The chapters on bonding, solid state, and coordination are very well done, but the authors have done a good job on the rest as well. They don't try to gloss over anything and provide references for further reading. I used this book as background for an inorganic synthesis project; I am using it for a one-semester inorganic class now (the book was designed for a two-semester class), and I will use it again when I take a higher class in inorganic chemistry.

great book
Although I didn't read much about it, I still got an A from this course. Hopefully the professor won't see this page.:-)
If you ever need to know anything about inorganic chemistry of today, buy this book. It's almost a dictionary for inorg-chemists.

A comprehensive guide for Inorganic Chemistry
This book is a fantastic approach for Inorganic Chemistry! Far from the usual descriptive inorganic chemistry found in other books, Huheey's work is a complete and thorough guide to undergraduate students; it explains important subjects which are left out in other works.

The chapters about bonding are specially well written and have good information that can be well understood by chemistry students.

There is only one little flaw, its lack of colored pictures. It may seem silly, but some students can be greatly encouraged by this.

It is a great book and I recomend it to anyone who plans to partake an Inorganic Chemistry course.

Transnational Criminal Organizations, Cybercrime, and Money Laundering: A Handbook for Law Enforcement Officers, Audito
Published in Hardcover by CRC Press (13 December, 2002)
Author: James R. Richards
Amazon base price: $79.95
Average review score:

should be a bestseller
This book isn't just for enforcement people. For someone like me who isn't a law officer and just wants to understand how terrorists and drug traffickers work, this book is great.

I always thought of terrorism and drugdealing in simplistic terms of what happens in the street. Now I understand how the system works and why our fight is so unsuccessful.

What I learned:
Our laws change slowly in response to rapid innovation by the traffickers and terrorists.

Horse-and-buggy standards for banks like "know your customer" are pointless in a modern world economy.

The worldwide supply of drugs is variegated and impossible to control. As a result, our approach to fighting drugs by cooperating with drug-producing countries is stupid. My guess is that a bread-and-butter approach of customs inspections and death penalty for dealers and launderers would work better. The mindset of modern law enforcement is dead wrong.

As icing on the cake, it was interesting to learn that the Afghanis, Arabs, and Iranians who attack America for our moral degeneration are number 1 in heroin production and smuggling.

A few disappointments:

Richards barely treated terrorists. If he had, his book would have had more mass appeal.

Some of the explanations would have been clearer with flow diagrams.

I still don't understand why layering is so effective. It sounds as if a simple computer trace would unpeel the layers.

This book is not light reading. But if you really want to know how the world works, it's worth the effort!

An Excellent, Informative Work!
I became acquainted with James R. Richard's Transnational Criminal Organizations, Cybercrime, and Money Laundering : A Handbook for Law Enforcement Officers, Auditors, and Financial Investigators when it was used as a text in Utica College's Economic Crime Management Master of Science Degree program in the Advanced Economic Crime as well as the Legal Concepts of Criminal Fraud and Corporate Criminal Liability graduate courses. After quickly thumbing through it, I immediately recognized that it truly contains a bounty of useful, pertinent and relevant information.

Extremely well written, it is a well flowing, very easy read that is both highly informative and enlightening. The book provides a very extensive and detailed examination of organized criminal enterprises engaged in international financial crime. The book fully details the specific steps of the placement, layering, and integration stages of money laundering as well as fully itemizing the techniques and uses of non-financial institutions (casinos, securities et al.) in money laundering. The expanded international focus documents a very detailed and thorough examination of the scope of global financial crime. The book fully integrates an expanse of information on banking, money laundering and cybercrime basics, international criminal organizations - in both a national and international context - in a manner that is easily understood by the reader.

As a police officer, I would highly recommend this book as a "must have" for the reference shelf of federal, state, local or corporate based investigators engaged in financial crimes inquiries and analysis. For the non-professional who is interested in organized crime of a more cerebral nature, the book is more than worth the purchase price.

As a side note, Mr. Richards also gives an excellent presentation and lecture on the topics and subject matter covered in his book.

A very good choice!
My father wrote this book. Even though I am only eleven years old I already want his job. I love to read and learn and I am very interested in this field. I read his book and I can finally understand what he's talking about at the dinner table! He now tells me about his cases in the car and I love hearing about them. This book helped me learn about things I wouldn't have learned about in college. It really opened my eyes to what was out there. Good work daddy! PS - Your kids books that you wrote for us are just as good! Publish them!
