Great resource for integrating literature and spelling
This book can supplement The Writing Road to Reading for teachers, tutors, and homeschoolers. Wanda Sanseri's book is an excellent resource for those who want to integrate classic literature and a Biblical worldview with spelling and grammar review. Mrs. Sanseri uses the word list from Romalda Spalding's classic book, The Writing Road to Reading, and gives many terrific ideas for immediate application of high frequency words in writing and reading. This resource is like icing on the cake of Mrs. Spalding's outstanding language arts method, The Writing Road to Reading.

lots of color photos and a great stitch dictionary
Just about the best descriptions and drawings of stitches I've ever seen. The projects are lovely and neoclassic. I marked every other page as a "do this" project.

A must if researching Switzerland Co., Ind.
The book is well researched and laid out. I had talked and written to the Author both before and after publication, but have lost contact. Was a real help on my family research and she had taken photos of some of the hard to find small cemeteries including all the stones, which I was able to obtain. A must for every Library.

WONDERFULLY OUTSTANDING!
I have had this book for YEARS, recently re-covered it in a bookbinding workshop and LOVE IT! The stories are not sappy or sticky like that of the Disney versions and not dark and scary like that of the Grimm Brothers style. Their just a little scary and still have an amusing yet pleasant ending. I have been reading these stories to my kindergarten students for years and they truly enjoy them - often using "advanced" reading skills (predicting, applying themes and ideas etc...) while I do read aloud. Many of the tales are classics (Rapunzel, The Fisherman and His Wife), but the two that stand out are Cinderella (3 balls, a GOLDEN slipper and pitch...) and The Six Servants (many subtle references to the trinity with it's multiples of three in the story line - early "Christian" propaganda). The language is rich, vibrant, alive and classic - just classic enough for excellent questioning. I highly and strongly recommend this book to collector's as well as teachers, and parents alike. I have a lengthy background in children's literature and this is in my top 10 list...If you find it - buy it!

tanner's empire
I was enthralled with the epic diameter of "Tanner's Empire"! It is only 200 pages, but what a 200 pages! It held my interest from beginning to end. I was so disappointed it ended, but am happy to have learned that a sequel of larger than life characters will be submitted to Ms. Cullen's publisher this year! Hurry! Hurry!
"Tanner's Empire" was wonderful and full of western characters with character! The action never ends and its realism held me until the very end. The character, Ethan Tanner, stirred emotions of hate and respect in me. His sons, Nathanial, Jebediah, and Benjamin were so much like the sons of any powerful and wealthy man today....with values! I can't wait for more. This is a book for everyone who enjoys a good old-fashioned action western with human attributes that ring true! You've got to read this one! I promise you'll be looking for more after the last page! Thanks, Ms. Cullen.

A superior reference for anyone involved in Youth Ministry !
Of the thousands of references I've used during my ten years in youth ministry, Quick Studies, "Acts & Romans" would have to be the best. It is always effective. The questions that are asked to support each chapter are intellectually stimulating as well as age appropriate. So often, youth ministry resources that claim to be for high schoolers are better suited for junior high children. Not so with this wonderfully researched Bible Study. Getting kids to enthusiastically focus on Romans used to be like pulling teeth, but the authors of this reference hit the mark. Alot of the 'Opening Acts' are less than adequate, subsequently I rarely use them. The questions are excellent. Adults are asking to join my high school class, and a major reason is because of the resources I use, such as this one. Tom Van Wyen : Youth Director - Willow Street Mennonite Church

A classic by the master
This comic book, originally in Dutch, is one of the finest ever made by Willy Vandersteen. A classic here in the Netherlands and Belgium and hopefully in the US too. Pre-school reading is not the excact phrase to describe the contents of this book. A lot of Willy and Wanda fans are well beyond their teens, as am I and I enjoy(ed) this book very much. I have the complete Willy and Wanda (Suske en Wiske) collection in my bookcase (about 200 books)and this one is absolutely one of my favorites.

A Well Used Reference
I bought this book for Freshman English Composition four years ago. I've kept it since. I'm in my last year of college and have used this book as a reference for every paper I've written in either MLA or APA format. It's easy to forget how to site things so this has been a great reference for my college years! I highly recommend this book! I'm buying it for my brother who is just starting his freshman year. I really believe in keeping this as a reference. Add this one to your shopping cart!

Their detailed table of contents, thorough index, and menu plans guide you easily through the book, and the recipes are divided into these convenient sections: appetizers, soups, egg dishes, pizza and focaccia, pasta, couscous, rice, meat main-course dishes, fish and seafood main-course dishes, vegetables, salads, desserts, wines and liqueurs.
I, personally, am on a high-protein diet, and one might wonder what someone like me could possibly get from a cookbook whose recipes all hail from the land of pasta. Actually, quite a lot. The vegetable, meat and seafood dishes are delicious, low-carb, and not horribly time consuming to make. And it is crucial on a special diet to, as much as possible, find things that taste good to eat our you won't stay on it. All of these recipes are packed with flavor. Here are some examples of my personal favorites from the vegetable-dishes section: Syracuse-Style Peppers (olive oil, salt, mint leaves, garlic, and vinegar for seasoning), Country-Style Eggplant (olive oil, vinegar, oregano, mint, and hot pepper flakes for seasoning), Gangi-Style Artichokes (onions, green olives, capers, celery hearts, vinegar, and pepper for seasoning).
In addition, even those of us on a high-protein diet can occasionally have bread. And, as for me, if I am going to indulge, I much prefer to eat really great bread, such as the terrific focaccia in this cookbook. The authors furnish a basic focaccia dough recipe from which you can spring off into many variations such as broccoli focaccia, focaccia with onions and tomatoes, spinach focaccia, and focaccia stuffed with arugula, sun-dried tomatoes and/or cheese.
I highly recommend this cookbook for inexperienced as well as seasoned cooks, whether cooking for themselves alone, or for their families and friends. If you love Italian cooking, you'll adore these Sicilian recipes!
