A powerful look at who we are and why we are.
You knew it best when you were a child but forgot it along the way. Jennene R. Macklin urges her readers to not only remember, but more importantly to act, in her powerful examination of life and all it's joys and struggles,'Faith the Size of a Mustard Seed'. This book challenges it's readers to examine and adjust their daily thoughts, actions and words in a way that no doctrine has or ever will. It trully is a book for Daily Living, a must have and a must read!

An excellent companion for applying faith to your life!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Faith and utilizing the excercises which lead me from being a person of faith to a "faith full" person. Faith is written with such simplicity that it is easy to apply Ms. Macklin's principles to everyday life. I found "Let It Go", "Looking For Love", "When In Doubt", and "I Know Better, But I Do It Anyway" to be right on point. I highly recommend Faith The Size of A Mustard Seed!

Informative and Provocative!
A book that not only explains exactly what this controversial subject is, but does it in, dare it be said, a very entertaining way. A book that gives you all the tools and information you need in an interactive, down-to-earth way. An important book!

Great Book!
This book is a good guide to what you can and cannot do in the workplace or even in general. It is very informative and shows many different situations. He is a man with a mission and he has done it in this great book which talks about the topic like no one else has ever done before. Steven Dranoff with his partner Wanda Dobrich is also a very brilliant person who contributed a whole lot to this book to achieve its greatness. I think that if your in work and you want to keep your money if you work with any kind of people then you should pick this book up and learn about it so that you can make sure you don't ever have to deal with this problem. Better to be safe then sorry. I hope that you all enjoy this book.

Gender Scripting Made Simple
Gone Is Gone is one of the great children's books, not only because of its prose style and the beautiful illustrations, along with the wonderful humor, but because it sends a message that reverberates in this day of women's lib and gender-neutral family roles. It SHOULD BE REISSUED in an affordable edition!

Timeless
This is a timeless story of the question that has plagued every couple...who works the hardest? It is such a great story for little girls (and boys) and my daughter loved it! Now every time we get to the part where the husband asks to take over the wife's tasks for a day and says "how hard could it be?", my daughter rolls her eyes and says "Oh sure"...

Invisible Currents: Nature's Lessons for the Mind and Heart

observing ourselves in our external world
Wanda McGee uses beautiful prose to evoke images of nature. From these images she draws analogies to our daily lives, teaching us that our external world abounds with lessons for those willing to quietly observe. Her book has encouraged me to take notice of my surroundings -- of beautiful trees, birds, landscapes --which I otherwise would have rushed right past.

I find her poignant descriptions of nature relaxing to read. I have really enjoyed unwinding with this book at the end of the day.

Looking out to see in...
In a world that most often pushes velocity, this book emphasizes the direction part of the velocity equation. It gently and effectively pulls us back into ourselves to look at where we're going.

Wanda McGee's little book with evocative illustrations by Cindy Mueller is like a spring that begins by nourishing you as an individual. When used with a group it joins other springs, creating a new flow, potentially moving the group to a new destination.

Composed of brief, simply illustrated descriptions of nature observed, and a provocative pattern of questions with each, the scenes evoke associations and spark light onto our own subterranean flows. The underground streams of our own lives get brought to the surface with the questions.

They all start with queries that tap into us at the individual, reflective level, appropriately since that's where the scenes evoke a reaction. Then they weave in questions about the meaning of our associations with the scene, flowing to questions that ask us to sense implications for our lives in groups and organizations. One is left, after flowing down this very gentle stream and around several bends in the river, with a clearer view of where to steer next, or what needs a closer look.

As an individual tool for reflection, the book gives one a wonderful view of the world. Used with a group it can work magic with creating a strong dialogue using inquiry and reflection. The secret is that they start with a place far away from the here-and-now and metaphorically work our spring of discovery towards the edge of a clear brook, running into other streams.

Inspirational
Jesus in my Golf Cart is a humorous, yet down to earth chat with Jesus as the protagonist goes about her daily life. In this case it is playing golf. Bub (Satan) puts in his two cents worth from time to time, just as in life.
It is a book worthy of the author's faith and talent. It reminds one that whatever you go or whatever you are doing, all you have to do is ask Jesus what he thinks.
A fine inspirational piece of work.

Inspirational yet funny
Jesus in my Golf Cart is a fasinating book with Jesus and occassionaly "Bub" (Satan) butting into the conversation to get his point across. Ms. Brown has caught the essence of religious belief that stays with a true believer as they go about their daily tasks or play.
This book provides insight into walking with Jesus and a few laughs besides. Who ever said Jesus didn't laugh?

Little Thumb Ventures Beyond the Usual
Little Thumb is a delightfully humorous story told partly from the thumb's perspective that includes a positive, playful plot and imaginative suggestions for engaging one's thumb. Having taught preschool for 20 years, I was glad to see Ms. Dionne address this sensitive, timeless topic so creatively. And the illustrations are charming and colorful. This story guides teachers and parents as well as young children.

A fun-filled way to discourage thumb-sucking
Little Thumb is a delightful blend of rhyme, imagination, and fun. Instead of lecturing preschooler to early school age boys and girls about thumb-sucking, it uses child-friendly illustrations and verse to encourage little ones to put their thumbs to better use. Highly recommended for parents, daycare centers, libraries, and dentists' offices.

Addendum.
Ms. Coleman's powerful collection MERCUROCHROME has just been nominated for the National Book Award in poetry. Quite an honor. Her last collection of poetry, BATHWATER WINE (Black Sparrow, 1998) won the 1999 Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize, and her memoir LOVE-INS WITH NIETZSCHE (Wake Up Heavy, 2000) was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. It seems the literary world is standing up and taking note of one of our greatest modern poets.

One of America's Best Writers!!
Wanda Coleman has been publishing with Black Sparrow Press for nearly 25 years, which is amazing since she's only 55, and looks much younger than that. Even more amazing than the devotion she and BSP share, is the strength and vitality encompassed in each new volume they produce together. MERCUROCHROME, her latest, may be in fact her best. It is not too long, as the review above would suggest (her last collection of poems is nearly three years old now so there's plenty to print), nor is the power diluted. On the contrary, Coleman's voice is as strong as ever. And as diverse. I don't know if I've ever read a collection of sonnets or transliterations of mainly dead-white guys, that was so compelling. This book is as red-hot as the title suggests. Huzzah Wanda Coleman! P.S. I also wanted to praise the wonderful cover design by Barbara Martin on this, and so many other Black Sparrow books.
