Read it on Best of Thomas
I read this book on my Best of Thomas DVD with and without narration, and I feel like getting this book. I also like to get Thomas tells a lie, and Hooray For Thomas. Percy had seen a dinosaur. He thinks it was a dragon. Thomas goes out. He tells Percy. He goes back to the forest. He doesn't know until the driver said it was a dinosaur model for the new dinosaur park. Harold comes and lifts the model on the flat truck. Men fasten it. Percy sees it. Thomas tells him "Don't worry Percy, this isn't a dragon. This is a dinosaur model for the new dinosaur park." He passes the school, and the children waved. He gets three cheers from Sir Topham Hatt and all the people who are desining the park and his driver, fireman, and conductor.

Thomas stories for younger fans
This is my son's favorite Thomas the Tank Engine story because it is written at his level. The Jellybean Books are written for younger children and this story is very engaging and involves a dinosaur, a subject close to the hearts of many youngsters. This is the perfect book for any young Thomas the Tank Engine fan.

Impartial review?
Chris Yeh is Mr. Kuegler's partner at his consulting firm.

I would question the objectivity of the previous review.

Please also place no credence in my rating of five stars, I have yet to receive my copy.

A clear and practical guide to an often-confusing industry.
The web advertising and marketing is extremely confusing. Almost everything I've ever been told has been a lie. In sharp contrast, Kuegler's book tells hard truths, backed up with very specific examples. He focuses on companies and techniques that have flown below the mainstream radar screen, and delivers information that any marketer or entrepreneur can use.

Fantastic
Fantastic how both illustrator and author can put so much heart and detail into a childrens book. Great story; not one of those nonsensical ones that flood the market today. A delight for both parent and child. So much to see and discover on every page. And during the next read one spots yet another little detail.

It's difficult to take a strangers recommendation, but this book is great (as is Winnie The Witch).

A very stimulating book with superb illustrations.
This story was so good it inspired us to write our own Winnie adventures. The story was fun and made you feel warm and cosy at the end. The illustrations were fantastic - a cartoon witch that was not too scary! Every time we read it we saw something new.

The Agrarian Roots of Pragmatism (Vanderbilt Library of American Philosophy)
Published in Hardcover by Vanderbilt Univ Pr (2000)
Authors: Paul B. Thompson and Thomas C. Hilde
Amazon base price: $39.95
Average review score:

A great contribution to pragmatist and agrarianist thought
The Agrarian Roots of Pragmatism gathers some of the best minds in American philosophy around a single theme: the relationship between pragmatism and agrarianism. The first half provides an excellent introduction to agrarian thought, its history, and its contemporary (and possibly future) relevance. The second, assuming a greater familiarity with the pragmatic tradition, limns the relationship between agrarian philosophy and pragmatism, often using one to advance or bring criticism to bear on the other. The result is remarkable, for the reader not only puts down this book with a better understanding of the roots of pragmatism and its historically contingent relation to agrarianism, but also with an exciting sense of how both of these traditions may be developed in the future. Those unfamiliar with pragmatism and agrarianism get a great introduction; those who already think of themselves as pragmatists, like myself, will find much they didn't know.

Tremendous Book
After six years in the military, I went back to school. Admittedly, my math skills were not as sharp as they should have been. Applied Algebra I, took me step by step through begining Algebra. Very well thought out, one section builds on the next. I would recommend this book for any student starting out in Algebra or as a refresher course for those individuals looking to tune up their skills. Very well done!!

A Classic
This book is a small masterpiece of synthesis and inspired interpretation. Fr. Chenu was one of the leading medievalists of the twentieth century. His work contextualized St. Thomas' thought revealing the deep contemplative roots of the seemingly arid logic of the theological treatises as well as its political relevance for the medieval Church. The author's elucidation of the relationship between contemplation, praxis and "doing" theology in St. Thomas is pertinent to current debates about the nature and purpose of theological reflection. As Fr. Chenu explains, for St. Thomas theology was not only tied to lectio divina, and thus Scripturally based, but also directed to the common good, which "is more divine than individual moral perfection." St. Thomas is portrayed as a contemplative genius whose commitment to poverty, more than the sacrifice of an ascetic, manifested a concern with social justice.

The book is also particularly valuable for its clarification of St. Thomas' realism in contrast to the dialectical relationship between Grace and Nature of Augustinian theologies. Fr. Chenu points out that the modern nominalist assumption that the divine can only be made manifest in irrational thought-forms is countered by St. Thomas' demonstration that the rational is a reflection of God's wisdom. Epistemological realism is thus consistent with God's desire that we should abide in a universe which is knowable through the autonomous (albeit graced) rationality of creatures.

Climate -> evolution
Changes in climate have been important determinants in evolution on Earth. As well as dealing with contemporary climate issues, this reference also describes how data from rocks, ice cores, ocean sediments, etc. is used to deduce the history of the planet's history of climate. This reference gives atmospheric O2 as a percent of present value at 1% at 2 billion years B.P., 10% at 700 million years B.P. and 100% at 350 million years B.P. Ice ages are given at 2.3 billion years B.P., 950 million years B.P., 820 - 730 million years B.P., 640 - 580 million years B.P., brief glaciation at 430 million years B.P. (immediately followed by evolution of land plants), warming of Earth by decrease of reflection sunlight because of plant cover, approx. 300 million years B.P. glaciation probably due to continental drift of largest continents along paths near poles, then warm climate through the Mesozoic and into the Cenozoic until 30 million years B.P. with glaciations periodically until present.

Another excellent compilation of information for Scientist.
A great follow-up book to the Ecology of Bats. A must for any bat biologist who is serious about their work. I cannot wait until Dr. Kunz publishes a work on Bats of the United States with color photo plates.
