Terrific collection
It's curious to note, however, that the movie-spawned error of calling Dracula's key London residence "Carfax Abbey" and not "Carfax" extends even to Wolf's canny writing.

TELLS A LOT ABOUT THE HISTORY OF DRACULA AND VAMPIRES
I have just recently bought this book (from Amazon) and have found it very interesting. Wolf explains vampire lore, the importance of blood, the vampire bat, and find out about the real Dracula, Vlad the Impaler. Dracula; The Connoisseur's Guide also includes the history of horror in ficton and the precursors of Bram Stoker in vampire ficton. A brief biography of Bram Stoker is in this book, followed by another chapter with a over 30-page "summary" of the original Dracula story. The next part Wolf discusses the vampires tales of 1898-to the present. Leonard then has another chapter in his book about all the Dracula films, from Nosferatu, to Bram Stoker's Dracula.

This book is a wonderful addition to all the books on Dracula and vampires.

In addition to all the great writing, there are loads of pictures, including stunning illustrations at the beginning of each chapter. Also there are maps, film stills, photographs, and drawings.

This is a great book for vampire and Dracula fans everywhere.

Earth Signs - Understanding the Medicine Wheel
I loved the simple, straight-forward way of presenting a complicated system of magic. Integrating the Winds with the Moons, the people and the animals of the world has laid out a basis for a lifetime of self-introspection and awareness on a universal scale.

The beautiful presentation of words and illustrations are icing on the cake.

Well worth buying!
Earth Signs is a great book and has given me a new and different perspective, I would like to wish Grey Wolf and his co-authors every success with this book, and I hope they will follow it up with other works of just as high a calibre. Julian de Burgh Astrologer.

One of the better from Dever
This book, written in novel form and taken after the Lone Wolf Series (writen by Joe Dever), takes place in Magnamund, a vast world where the peoples only real protection from their mortal enemies, the Darklords, are a few handfulls of the finest warriors: the Kai Lords.

Vonatar, an apprentice in the Brotherhood of the Crystal Star (a wizards guild) kills one member after secretly learning the forbiden Right Hand magiks. He goes to meet the Darklords and start the fiercest war ever seen in magnamund, one which would almost completely wipe out the Kai Lords.

Only one boy can save them. A mere Kai Initiate, Silent Wolf must track down the mighty Vonatar and stop him at all costs...but can he endure all of the harshness of Magnamunds terrain, creatures and enemies? Read Eclipse of the Kai to find out!

Lone Wolf - need I say more?
I have been THE Lonewolf fan since early childhood. My collection is vast, and this is one of the books I have. Purely wanderous, mythical, and what pure fantasy is all about.

Starting of as a setting for the gamebooks, starting of with Flight from the dark, this novel, being the first Legends novel, sets the scene and explores te world and characters which are included in the game book.

So good, written well, and fantastic for the imagination. Some one PLEASE make this into a film.

my all time favourite book!
It is the second time I have had the pleasure of reading this novel and weeks later I am still thinking and talking about it. Alfred the Great...what a man! I was so enthralled by the life and times of this English King, his insight, morality and courage, an inspiration thanks to Joan Wolf. Alfred was not expecting to become king of Wessex, one of the four kingdoms in England, with five older brothers. Different to his brothers, Alfred was well educated, sensative and very pragmatic. When the threat of a Danish invasion caught England on the back foot, Alfred united his kingdom and led the only kingdom to withstand the Danes. Entwined with passion, love and heartwrenching suspense, the reader is captured by the characters and their lifestyles. This novel enables the reader to experience the thoughts and issues of the time and gives insight to the only king of England to be called "Great". Do yourself a favour and read to your heart's content, you won't regret it.

My all time favourite book
Albert The Great..what a man. I have read this novel twice and what a thrill. Albert, the youngest of five princes in line for the throne of Wessex, different from his brothers, being well educated and sensative yet strong and forthright never expected to be king. The tale unfolds as this young, extraordinary man finds himself the leader of a realm threatened by the devastating onslaught of Danish Vikings invading England. These torrid times of the mid to late 9th century are softened by the passionate, accidental union of Albert and Elswyth. Being both down to earth and haughty, Elswyth captivates the reader by her eternal strength and aggressive personality which compliments Albert's thoughtful and assertive nature. Together, they hold the West Saxons together in a totally captivating and heartwrenching read. I was so absorbed in the lives of the charachters and the trials they faced, but Albert, King of Wessex is the most enthralling charachter I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

Elements of Photogrammetry
Published in Paperback by McGraw-Hill Education - Europe (1983)
Author: P.R. Wolf
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

Excellent Resource
This book is an excellent resource and covers all topics in a sufficient and easy to read manner and definitely covers all the "elements". Anyone that is interested in Photogrammetry will find this book quite useful.

Book Review: Elements of Phtogrammetry
This book is substantially revised from the previous edition in 1983, some 17 years ago. Consequently, new topics are added, particularly on GIS and digital photogrammetry. The appendixes on least squares adjustment, co-ordinate transformations, collinearity equations and digital resampling are particularly useful.

This book is clearly one of the best ones around in the area of photogrammetry. The chapters are properly organised and the concepts are explained clearly.

Of course, every book has to focus on its intent and target audience. The authors did this with flying colors. If there is anything missing in the current photogrammetric literature, it surely must be a book that reorganises the chapters into an operational book of case studies on photogrammetric practice.

I strongly recommend the book to you.

Epistle to the Son of the Wolf
Published in Paperback by Baha'i Publishing Trust (1988)
Author: Baha'u'llah
Amazon base price: $4.95
Collectible price: $14.95
Average review score:

Compliation of Baha'i Teachings By Baha'u'llah Himself
Epistle to the Son of the Wolf By Baha'u'llah, is one of the author's last works. In it he summarizes his Faith to a Iranian clergymen who was responsible for the deaths of some of his early followers in Iran. What stikes one about this work is that is Baha'u'llah quotes many of his own works throughout his ministry, in which he demonstrates that his peaceful, non-violent approach to religion was seen by some as threat to their domination of Iranian life. Since the Baha'i Faith has become a worldwide religion, and still his Iranian followers are still persecuted in the land of their faith's birth, this work takes on an enormous importance. Baha'u'llah summarizes for this clergyman many of his essential teachings, quoting passages from many of his most celebrated works. This book is an excellent introduction to the Baha'i Faith, since it covers the history, teachings and scripture of the Baha'i Faith with the Founder of the Faith himself explaining his teachings. That alone makes it a unique book in religious history. Baha'u'llah counsels religous cooperation among people of all faiths, urges that women be given equal rights in society, that prejudices of race and creed be removed. For these and many other teachings, he was exiled and imprisioned out of Iran (Persia)eventually going to a prision in what today is modern Isarel(but was then the Ottoman Empire). Epistle to the Son of the Wolf is a dramatic summary of key pieces of Baha'i scripture, summarized by Baha'u'llah himself. I strongly recommend the book to students fo comparative religion and history, students of the Middle East, and to seekers after truth. It is a dramatic book that makes one curious about the life and sufferings of Baha'u'llah, founder of the Baha'i Faith as he was exiled futher and futher away from Iran. It is fascinating story and one that the book gives a fascinating glimpse about it his own words. I highly recommend to everyone.

The letter to the Persecutor of Baha'u'llah's Faith
This powerful letter written by the founder of the Baha'i Faith, Baha'u'llah, in the late 19th Century was masterfully translated by the Beloved Guardian of the Faith, Shoghi Effendi. This book is a letter to a leader of the Islamic Religious Order that ruthlessly persecuted thousands of Baha'u'llah's followers for following the teachings of religious tolorance, equality, peace, and spiritual rejuvination that the Baha'i Faith has brought to the world. In these pages, Baha'u'llah writes lovingly to this man, pleading with him to investigate the Baha'i Faith for himself and try to find anything that could possibly justify such actions of cruelty and intollerance that were taken upon the Baha'is. Written in the closing years of Baha'u'llah's Ministry, it re-tells the tale of the Baha'i Faith and serves as a mini-compilation of Baha'u'llah's Writings, teachings, and the stories of heroes who laid down their lives for this newly born Faith.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful book
I teach "toddler church" for 2 and 3 year olds. I have tried various kinds of lessons--things found on the internet, lessons from other books I've checked out from the library, etc. I finally found this book and it is absolutely fantastic. It is one of the few "preschool" lesson books that is actually age-appropriate. The activities are simple and fun, and the kids love them.

What makes this book really special is every part of each lesson is focused on the lesson topic. For example, for the story of David and Goliath, you have a song (set to the tune of "The Muffin Man"), the story, told with a wonderful fingerplay, a fun craft (making shields out of grocery bags), a game, and much more. Even the snack holds meaning (make "stone" cookies)!

Don't worry about a lot of preparation time for the lessons. They are simple to prepare for, they don't require expensive materials, and the directions are clear. This book is truly inspired....the authors have been given a blessed gift by God, and I'm so glad they shared it with the rest of us.

Excellent for beginnner teachers
I bought this book about 3 years ago, and I still use it every chance I get. The stories are easy to present, with lots of teacher helps, perfect for the beginner Sunday School teacher. The kids go crazy for the stuff too, they really enjoy it. I use both this book and it's companion, Volume 2. I found the lessons appropriate for ages from 3 up to about 7, which is good if you are teaching a lot of different ages in the same class. Highly recommended.

Just back from my Bermuda Honeymoon
This book was our Bible in Bermuda on our honeymoon! For the most part this guide was right on the mark. Some of the restaurant reviews were off (The Shepards Pie at the Swizzle Inn is little more than chilli with mashed potatoes on top, and jackets really weren't required for men at dinner anywhere we dined over the week) but for the most part it was very helpful.

Excellent!!! All you need to plan your trip to Bermuda
Amazon's synopsis is right on. The book is thorough, concise. Covers every aspect of planning your trip, then is a constant companion while you're there--restaurant recommendations, sightseeing guide, good maps, guidance on finding the best beaches.

I disagreed only with Fodor's take on the dress code. Guys, you don't really have to wear Bermuda shorts if you prefer other styles. And you won't feel bad without a tie in the nicer restaurants. I saw a lot of mixed-dressing couples (no, not cross dressing!)--she's wearing a nice dress and he's in shorts and loafers without socks.

I found it helpful in selecting my hotel to look at lush color photos available on the Web (always lacking in guide books due to cost and space).

Finally, as always, Amazon will get your book to you real fast.
