I read this book at first with a bit of apprehension, would it turn into a "men are evil and women are sinless" kind of a story?
I am happy to say it did not. It is a fresh story of love and partnership set in ancient France 14,000 years ago. Alin and Mar learn to see eye to eye in their two seperate views of life. A good yarn followed by the just as good "The Horsemasters", which is set several years later.(the young girl Fali is now the Old One)

An enchanting tale about life in prehistoric France. How tribes interacted and customs change. A love story with a great ending. I enjoyed this book more than Jean Auel's books. Quicker paced, harder to put down.

I read this book in my late teens and found it to be completly spell-binding. My first book that actully held me with pleasure for reading! Note; i do not believe that this book is sutiable for people under 16 years of age. But for us adults, it is wonderfull!

This is far and away the best edition of the original novel you could read. In addition all it's footnotes and explanations provide a trail for any curious reader to explore for just about any particular aspect of the novel. From legends of Vampires, historical facts of Vlad Dracul III, all the way to obscure but curious details of the lendary Scholomance School Of Magic taught by the Devil himself!

While this exhaustively (at times exhaustingly) annotated book may overwhelm the reader coming to Stoker's novel for the first time, those who are past reading for the plot alone will definitely appreciate Wolf's additions, which include detailed footnotes on everything from the train schedules to literary allusions to inconsistencies in continuity. Most chapters feature brief articles by modern fantasy writers, who comment on the novel's influence in their lives and writing. The filmography and introduction are excellent. Those who enjoy looking at the fine details will certainly appreciate this scrupulously researched book.

This is probably one of the best books on Primal Type Therapy available today. While Janov's books reached a large number of interested readers, promising early "cure" for neurosis, he never explained the actual process of the therapy. As a result, a number of people who had to go it alone, were very confused. Some of them did well, but others (both patients and therapists) misunderstood the therapy and landed up in difficulties. Ms Sheppard Alexander's book is unique in that she describes the process, step by step in a way that the unsophisticated reader can understand, and the professional find meaningful and helpful. I have personally passed this book on to several clinical psychologists and their response has been most enthusiastic. Lay people who I have shared it with have also found it moving and helpful to themselves. The writer describes her own childhood traumas in a way that anyone can understand and identify with. More importantly she talks about how, through the therapy, she was able to start working through these traumas, and transform her life from being a frightened, bewildered 20 year old, who dropped out of college, into the successful mature professional she is today. I see I can give this book only a five start rating. My personal rating is a ten!

Its just a very good book. Its not just for those in pain. Thersa Alexander had a horrible childhood, and yet she came out alive and well, and has thrived as a thearpist and a person. I highly recommend this book.

Theresa Alexander documents her own Primal Therapy experience in a direct narrative form depicting her intital three week intensive. Chapters alternate between client point of view and therapist point of view. Insightful, poignant,and ultimately hopeful. I cried my way through the book, and sighed at the end.

The O.T.s where I used to work recommended this book to me and it has been invaluable! It is enjoyable to read, with useful information that is easy to understand. I hesitated to buy it, initially, because of the price, the "line" drawings and the fact that it was written by O.T.'s (I thought I might find it too technical). It turned out to be well worth the cost and the illustrations work just fine. Anyone who needs to feed or work with moms feeding their babies should buy this book; it is incredibly useful and enlightening! It's a shame this book has such limited availability......

An excellent book with all the concepts clearly written. It also provides in depth practical treatment approaches that is very valueable for both new and experience neonatal professionals.

This book was required reading for a placement I did on a feeding team at a children's hospital. It is very thorough in describing assessment, treatment, and home suggestions related to infant feeding. It also describes the diagnoses and relevant characteristics of conditions which accompany feeding and swallowing disorders. I wore my first copy out. It goes with me everywhere. It is, by far, the most comprehensive, relevant and useful book on the subject that I have seen.

I've read this book no fewer than a dozen times and would put it on a par with "Ball Four" as the two greatest sports biographies. It tells the story of a ghetto kid who is used and abused by the system who ultimately triomphs in the end. I recently had the honor of Connie signing my copy of this great book. The book shows that big-time college sports will off a player the world if he can play ball, but abandon him like a hot potato when he needs help the most. I find it extremely ironic that Connie's freshman coach at Iowa later went on to become the director of the NCAA. I can't recommend this book enough, especially for basketball fans.

This book is about Connie Hawkins, an inner city kid from upstate New York. Connie is one of six children who live only with their blind mother. Connie struggled from the beginning because he was too weak to be in a gang, but yet he didn't make many friends. So, in turn, he played basketball, all day, every day. He fought through those years in the ghetto and finally rose to the top of it. He became one of the top prospects in all of the country. But from there, it becomes a battle. When a huge gambling scandal goes down, Connie ends up right in the middle. With no education and no self-confidence, the police are able to break Connie with threats, and he eventually gives in to them and admits to things he didn't do. This was my least favorite part probably because I knew at this point it was going to be hard for Connie to regain his status. As is happens, Connie is kicked out of school and then banned from the NBA as well. Connie knows only basketball and without it, he is nothing. After years of tearing apart the ABA and the Globetrotters, a lawyer friend has come to his side. He believes that Connie was wronged and he wants to fight to get him reinstated by sueing the NBA. It's only an outside chance, but some say Connie is the best player to ever live and that it's an injustice to not let him showcase his talents on the biggest stage basketball has to offer, the NBA. This is a powerful book that is hard to put down, it's exciting, action-filled, and it gets you involved emotionally. You find yourself fighting and hoping for Connie. It's an easy read once you get started and I recommend you try it out.

The "World of Lone Wolf" series was, without doubt, the most enjoyable role-playing gamebook series I ever played.

The combat/survival system is similar to that employed by the Lone Wolf series, but with the added concept of "willpower" points, (which represent, essentially, Grey Star's magic resources). The player selects five of seven magical powers to use before starting the adventure.

The series is lavishly illustrated by Paul Bonner's artwork, and each volume contains a colour map of South Magnamund.

I was quite young when I played these adventures, and I would wait breathlessly and impatiently for each new volume to come out. The world which Ian Page and Joe Dever create is romantic and captivating. All the magic creatures in the story are unique to the world of Magnamund - no elves or dragons - which adds the special feeling of the books.

Grey Star always has companions in his adventures - giants, theives, ape-men (sorry, Kundi), but the most notable is the wytch girl, Tanith, who continues throughout the whole series.

If you want to get this book (which is a good idea if you like fantasy), be sure to get the other 3 books! Very adventurous and fun.

This book is the companion book to postcard sized reproductions. This book explains how to introduce children to art without turning them off. There are several levels and different 'lessons' in each level. However, these are NON Stress 'lessons' (for lack of a better word). My son, who is two, enjoys looking at the pictures and talking about them. He has also enjoyed matching the pictures and I look forward to continuing this with him.

If you are interested in introducing your young child to art, this whole series is very good. Based on post card sized reproductions that kids can touch and manipulate, this book takes the parents/pre/elementary teacher through a series of activities that will help both adult and child alike learn about art. This book is the companion to the postcard reproductions. It explains why you should do an activity and how to do each activity. It is simple and straightforward. My only thought is that if you do this and you buy the books of postcard reproductions that go along with this program, you are into the whole thing for about 80 bucks. However, you do not need to buy all the books of postcards.

This book is amazing. Having 'Asta Bowen, whom I was a student of, read this outloud it was incredable to hear Marta's voice and experience through the person who gave that to her. I hope she will write more books about herself because she has many tales to tell that haven't been told. Great job Ms. Bowen, you're a great inspiration, an excellent teacher and a wonderful writer.

Soon she...oh, I can't say or I'll ruin the book. You have to read this book! It's a sad book but a good one, too. This is a must read book.

this cookbook has a wonderful variety of great, elegant, and easy recipes for casual entertaining with friends and families. i happen to love cookbooks, and this is a wonderful addition to my collection.

As a collector of cookbooks (more than 600 titles) with an emphasis on the "Junior League" books, this is one of my all-time favorites. I have tried many, many recipes and they are all great. I found lots of "different" recipes that were simple to make and tasted great. Definitely add this one to your collection.

The cookbook has never failed me. I have given it to several people as a gift and they also raved about it. Has both simple and complex recipes. Also need tidbits about Cincinnati in the margins.
