Beautiful. . .
I first read this trilogy in the sixth grade, and then later was striving to find them again. They are excellent books that everyone should read. Prince Tebriel is an inspiration to all who have no hope.

This series will remain a trilogy
As Webmaster for Shirley Rousseau Murphy, I'm posting her
reply to the comment here mentioning a possible fourth book
in the Dragonbards series. Long ago she considered writing
such a book, but she has no present plans to do so. She is
now fully occupied with her adult cat mystery series, and is
no longer writing Young Adult novels. However, she does hope
that the Dragonbards trilogy will someday be back in print--as
I do also, because I think it's a beautifully-written fantasy
that more people should have a chance to enjoy.

wow
i read this book a while ago but i have to say if anything that of all the books i have read in my entire life none of them kept me as entranced as this one it is my all time favorite book and i have a feeling that it always will be if you like fantasy, with magic, and dragons, and an evil lord, than this is the book for you, definitly

Implementing World Class Manufacturing - Shop Floor Manual (Includes Lean Manufacturing)
Published in Spiral-bound by WCM Associates (01 July, 1998)

Great training resource
Though the title implies implementation, I see this more as an educational resource used to train both shop floor workers and management alike. Under this context, this book is outstanding.
Excellent diagrams, charts, and photos make understanding 5S, manufacturing cells, kanbans, and techniques for setup reduction easy.
In fact, the basic concepts behind lean manufacturing are simple. The problem with most lean manufacturing books is that the authors often complicate the subject to make themselves seem as though they are smarter and have something unique to add (when they really don't). This book keeps lean simple.
Great book.

One of the best "implementation" manuals I have seen.
We are going through a major re-organization from push system manufacturing to pull manufacturing in our facility and throughout the company. This book fits in quite nicely with this endeavor. The book does a nice job of explaining concepts and implementation of the principles. It is easy to read. Additionally, it has forms for suggested use in organizing information, AND it explains the forms and how to use them. I am purchasing multiple copies for distribution to all of my Manufacturing Engineers. Too I am recommeding it for use throughout the company.

An excellent training book suited for shopfloor associates
This is a book that small and medium-sized manufacturers can use to develop in-house training materials for educating their workforce on the how-to's of WCM. The explanations are succint with simple and well-written examples, backed by the rich experience of the authors. Supplementary materials available from the authors would allow any Plant Manager to develop customized training materials specific to his/her shopfloor. A particular merit of this book is the that it recommends the sequence in which the various elements of a WCM manufacturing program ought to be taught/implemented for best results. I plan to recommend this book as a reference to undergraduates who co-op or intern at companies as part of their educational experience.

Opposites Attract

Lessons in forgiveness
Opposites Attract by Shirley Hailstock was a good read about childhood influences and how they affect our growth into adulthood. The two main characters Nefertiti Kincaid and Averal Ballentine were completely opposite, based on family connection. But when they connect, how they help each other grow is a joy to watch.

Never, as she is called by family and friends has elevated herself in corporate America which has allowed her to raise her two nephews following the death of their parents 10 years ago. But a corporate merger is threatening her career, and she is concerned about how she will fare. Adding fuel to her dilemna is the fact that she has to work closely with Mr. Ballantine, the corporate management expert hired to ease the transition between the two companies. Resentment is high, and fear of the potential impact Averal may have on her career has Never denying the physical attraction between them. Averal, a successful author and management expert, needs healing from wounds of a painful childhood that has distanced him from his family. He needs to overcome the resentment of having had to face his mountains alone. Can Never help him climb his mountains of resentment? And can he ease her troubled thoughts about job security? As they discard old fears, readers will be rooting for them to follow their hearts and climb those mountains.

Ms. Hailstock has written a soothing sensual romance read with emphasis on family values and forgiveness. Interesting information on the Sickle Cell disease is handled to the story's advantage. This was a wonderful read.

Good book....lousy cover
The cover of this book was no indication of the content and probably kept me from re-reading it. However, the second time around I "remedied" that situation and again "thoroughly enjoyed" this sensual romance. Ms. Hailstock's depiction of characters, family values and a love that triumphs keeps you interested and "coming back for more". I think Ms. Hailstock's writing style incorporates just the right amount of love/sex scenes to create a sultry, yet truly interesting and well-developed story.

I'd love to see a sequel to this and find out what happens to James, Averal's brother, and Leslie. For that matter, what about Averal's other brothers? The Ballantine's would be an interesting family to follow.

Opposites do attract!!
I absolutely loved this story. This was my first story by Hailstock and to this date she has not disappointed me with her work! Nefertiti and Avery ( don't you just love those names) had me laughing, love them two together! Please go out and get yourself a copy, you will not be disappointed. Great Read!

Shirley, Goodness and Mercy
The antics of the angels kept me laughing through the whole book. I was so impressed I ordered the entire series. I look forward to the further adventures of these unique angels.

Spiritually enspiring
I truely enjoyed this wonderful Christmas Story. Shirley,
Goodness and Mercy are up to their devine enterventions.
I read this book in one day. It really gets you into the
true spirit of Christmas. Greg Bennett really finds out
how important it is to do the right thing.

Unexpected Kindness
Three inept angles find their latest project to be a man much disliked. When he finds himself on the bottom, about to lose everything, he asks for help but does not really believe he will get it. Shirley, Goodness, & Mercy find a warm, and satisfactory way to help him. I liked this book because it reminds me that everyone needs a little kindness and we often find it in unusual places. There are both tears and chuckles in this book. It is short, sweet, and a wonderful read aloud book.

Tempera Mental
My prayer of thanks goes up for this incredable explanation of why those "experts" who talk all about how the Horoscopes can be real know nothing about the real facts of the TRUTH about Jesus and God, as Miss Miller explains based on Biblical Facts! How can they talk about the "stars" like their Gods??? This is the book I have prayed for years! I cant wait for her new book, "A Sign in The Heavens, The Truth About Astrology"

Revelations!
I was ecstatic to receive the word from Ms. Miller about how the satanic-astrological conspiracy is based not on the true biblical facts. It had sickened me to read other so-called "theologians" disparage our God with their star-loving rants. Goodness knows we don't need any more unfactual stories going around, and I for one have already cleared a space on my devotional shelf for Ms. Miller's new book, "A Sign in The Heavens,The Truth About Astrology".

The Straight Dope on the Birth of Our Lord
This brilliant book by Ms. Miller is filled with enlightening new information regarding the birth of Lord Jesus Christ, and exposes how godless pagans have co-opted this beautiful story of salvation with their morally questionable "Astrology." Miller has sounded the clarion call to all true Christians who want the whole story on the stars and religion, and I will definately pick up her latest volume, "A Sign in The Heavens, The Truth About Astrology."

Whispers of Love!!
Talk about an unforgettable love! Those would be the words to discribe Robyn(Brooke), who gives up everything but her child to protect the person most important in her life, her husband. Only getting in contact with him when her child's life was in danger, she could not lose her too! But the love for Robyn never died for Grant. Grant loved his wife so much he wants her back with her new life and all!! Talk about true love. This book had me crying. Not many love stories get a reaction like that out of me, but this one did! Gread Read! Much Love Hailstock!

This was just too Good
This was a story of intrigue and undercover. So much so, one of the characters was hidden in the protection program, to protect a mate. I've often wondered if one person would know a loved one even after plastic surgery and voice altering techniques. Well if you want to know, read this book. Robyn and Grant will pull all of your emotions and make you smile. A good, good read.

Intriguing, Captivating, Exilarating
This was much more than a romance novel. This story eased you into a protection program, and then kept you in suspense. I uncrossed my fingers so many times it was comical. Absolutely a good book to read. Ms Hailstock is fastly becoming one of my favorites.

Lies and Spys
Shirley Hailstock is an amazing author. More Than Gold was a wonderful novel. The story of Morgan Kirkwood and Jack Temple was truly an enjoyable journey. This novel was simply explosive from start to finish. I just wanted to say I liked this novel very much and Ms. Hailstock keep doing what you're doing and I'll be there to purchase them.

A Truly Non-Stop, Action Paced Romance
Wow. This book just kept going. Ms. Hailstock put more action in one book than you might read in 10 books. And it was all believable! The previous 5 reviews made me purchase this book. Take my advice: Read this book. It is an intelligent novel that just happens to be a romance.

If you like Linda Howard and Andrea Kane
You'll love this book! It's got to be one of the best finds I've made in a long time. Its got mystery, suspense, and best of all romance and passion. It keep you guessing about the good guys and the bad guys. I've read romance for so many years that it's hard to keep from skipping pages - the stories are so predictable. But, this one isn't. If you like your romance with a great plot and sexual tension - buy this book!

We knew Chip could write like this...
Chip Emmons is a wonderful storyteller. He knows each word by heart and loves to tell this tale, which is truly touching. I recommend this book highly, it's a wonderful story and gives me a cozy warm feeling when I read it to my son. I gave this book four stars because I'm not crazy about the illustrations, but the author's words more than make up for that. Congratulations, Chip!

Wonderful For the Whole Family
Chip Emmons is a talented writer and Shirley Anger's illustrations compliment the story perfectly. An interesting and meaningful book for the whole family. My daughter can't wait for the next book. Mr. Emmons please keep them coming!

A warm, thoughtful book well-suited for young readers
Sammy Wakes His Dad by Chip Emmons is the story of a young boy who loves going out early to fish more than anything. His dad used to come fishing with him all the time, but ever since an accident left his father in a wheelchair, his seems to do nothing but hang around the house and mope. Longing for the good times they once shared, Sammy finally decides to speak out, and tell his dad how he feels. Filled with hazy yet charming color illustrations by Shirley Venit Anger, Sammy Wakes His Dad is a warm, thoughtful book well-suited for young readers ages 4 to 8.

An important and compelling book
I found this description of the lives of orphans and abandoned children to be moving, heartbreaking and compelling. There was so much about the Vietnam war that overshadowed the great humanitarian effort to save children -- one of the few uplifting aspects of the war. This is a story that needed to be told by someone closely involved. Personally, I found the story about the last days in Saigon and the final hours at the Embassy to be quite gripping. I could hardly put the book down. The testimonies by the children leading new lives in the United States are bittersweet and worthy of reflection. I recommend this book to anyone who missed this dimension of the Vietnam story.

The Incredible Story of the People Who Organized "Babylift."
This is the story of "Mister Ross" (and includes his extraordinary photographs) and the other unforgettable characters who risked their own lives to bring life and joy to the most innocent victims of the Vietnam war. I was riveted through the account of the orphan children making their way through hellish circumstances and onto the evacuation planes. The story of Mister Ross climbing the Embassy stairs, small child in his arms, to the waiting helicopter on the roof, captures the spirit of the national drama that unfolded that day and belongs in our nation's lore.

From war's hell to a new home
Shirley Peck-Barnes' book is a very graphic (literally too) depiction of what happened in 1975 at the fall of Saigon during Operation Babylift. It was a God-awful time, and things were happening rapidly, without the benefit of thinking things through properly. She captured it all through many interviews with those involved. She offered her own services by letting 600 orphans stay at her facility in Denver without thinking twice!

She, fortunately, had the ability to interview those directly involved because of her involvement as secretary with the Department of Defense during the Korean War, which led her to get untold stories during this horrific period.

If you want to know the truth, read this book.

Cold Nights, but warm hearts
Francis Ray's, "Until Christmas" is a touching novella about a young woman who not only touched the heart of the high school principal, Ethan Rawlings, but Samantha also won the hearts of Ethan's twins, Alan and Alex. Samantha, aka "Sam," was hired as a combination housekeeper, babysitter temporarily, but only until Christmas. At least, that is what Ethan told the twins and Sam, as well as himself. However, it was much too late for all of them to abide by this decision. Each was starved for the other's affections and each had become too attached to give up. The twins, not only saw Sam as their housekeeper/babysitter, but they saw her as a friend. She could play ball and was not afraid of their dog. The twins' affection went deeper still. Although they were in contact with their grandmother, they were still minus a mother figure. Sam with her winning ways, not only because she was a good cook and let them help her in the kitchen, but because it was who she was, had become special to them and they wanted her with them full time. Not only had Sam become special to them and the twins had become special to Sam, but Sam had also affected the twins' dad. Ethan's feelings for Sam were more than that of an employer, more than that of a friend. Somehow, in that short time, Sam had imbedded herself into Ethan's heart. Was he willing to allow a new love interest into his life or was he still shadowed by the deceit and experience of his ex-wife and the deceased mother of his twins. Ethan thought he had a solution to the problem when he reluctantly agreed to keep Sam, "but only until Christmas." However, love does not have a set time to go away. Therefore, until Christmas, turned out to a lifetime of love for Sam, Ethan, Alan and Alex. "Until Christmas" was the best. Way to go, Ms. Ray.

"Kwanzaa Angel" was a sweet remembrance into the past with a chance to correct the future. Erin had been hurt in the past by Raimi, who had reentered her life. Would Erin give in to her feelings that never dissolved for Raimi and become involved in a new relationship or would she revert back into the past? "Kwanzaa Angel" was about the Kwanzaa celebration, but with a twist of love for Erin and Raimi. Good story.

"'Round Midnight" was about the New Year's celebration. I loved the story of Dr. Summer Lane, the psychologist who now has a job at the radio station as a counselor on the air. Her show airs around midnight. It is at the radio station where Summer meets Tre Holland, one of the bosses. Everyone thinks Summer is a snow or ice maiden because Summer stays to herself and does not socialize with the others. However, Tre is attracted to Summer and sets out to melt the snow. Summer also has feelings for Tre and wants the ice to melt from around her heart. However, after getting together, somewhere while the ice is melting another freeze comes along and the ice around Summer's heart becomes another block of ice. Summer and Tre suffer heartship and are temporarily separated. Tre sets out to recapture Summer's love and to permanently melt the ice. He knows a new year will be approaching and is determined to be in Summer's life when the new year begins. So, he sets out around midnight to make it happen. Will Tre succeed in his endeavor? Read "'Round Midnight" and see what the New Year has in store for Summer and Tre. Great story with just the right amount of heat.

No one was cold on those "Winter Nights!"
Again my girl Ray out did herself with another great read! "Winter Nights" kept me up all night! I encourage everyone to go out and get a copy. They even have it in paperback now!

I loved it!
Winter Nights was a beautifully written book by three extremely talented authors. I really enjoyed reading the book. Ms Ray, Ms Hailstock, and Ms Hill are some of my favorite authors. They have brilliant writting styles that not just I enjoy! The novellas by the above authors are a must read. Much love to all three authors!
