Excellent standard textbook
I have used this textbook for 5 years for my marketing diploma students. The book has proved itself in South Africa and used by hundreds of students with success. My only wish is that the authors change the attiutude measurement section and add clearer examples.

Fickleness of Consumer Behavior Defined and Described
The textbook used in my Graduate Diploma in Marketing course, it gave me great insights in the fields of Consumer Behavior. I especially enjoyed the many interesting ads used throughout the text to illustrate certain learning points. Very readable.

Dance, Sing, Remember : A Celebration of Jewish Holidays
Published in Library Binding by HarperCollins Children's Books (2000)
Authors: Leslie Kimmelman and Ora Eitan
Amazon base price: $18.89
Used price: $12.99

A great guide to Jewish holidays
"Dance, Sing, Remember: A Celebration of Jewish Holidays" is a book that is both enjoyable and educational. Although it is directed towards children, it is a good resource for all ages. Leslie Kimmelman's well-written text is effectively complemented by Ora Eitan's colorful, impressionistic illustrations.

The text covers the major Jewish observances: Rosh Hashahah, Yom Kippur, Yom Hashoah, etc. The name of each observance is given both in Hebrew characters and in English translation or transliteration. The text gives definitions of such relevant terms as shofar, sukkah, and latkes.

There is a lot of fun supplementary material: a recipe for harvest muffins, instructions on how to play the dreidel game, a retelling of the story of Jonah, and more. Eitan's illustrations are excellent: they range from the solemn to the whimsical. Overall, this is a good book for children of all religious and cultural backgrounds.

Entertaining and Informative
I bought this book for my five year old in order to help explain the significance of certain Jewish holidays. He thoroughly enjoyed it and it encouraged lots of great questions. The illustrations are wonderful and I learned a lot too! Highly recommended for any family as a great holiday book and reference book.

speechless
this is a book about the 1960's in lebanon. it paints the real life there, and the true religious conflicts back then. even though these conflicts are hard and ugly enough, this book has something that'll make you nostalgic, you'd want to read it again, again and again. it is definitely one the best novels written in the arabic language.

Incredible Novel
This is an amazing book with a great heroine that forshadows the conflict in the Middle East. It is also a great insight into Beirut's glory days just before the outbreak of war. Smart, sexy, and suspensful, it is a book that is definitely a must read!

Developing Your Child for Success
Published in Paperback by Learning Potentials Publishers, Incorporated (1991)
Authors: Leslie Young and Kenneth A. Lane
Amazon base price: $24.95
Average review score:

Easy Activities
This book has simple activities that are designed to help give a child the necessary perceptual motor-skills needed to succeed in school. The activities are in 8 categories: motor, visual motor, ocular motor, vision, laterality, directionality, sequential processing, & simultaneous processing. The things I had to purchase were a chalkboard & metronome. The other materials needed I had on hand; examples are index cards, dictionary, rulers, paper, pencil, colored chalk, etc. These are actual activities you can do and not just theoretical. They are simple and easy-to-follow. I am doing these with my dyslexic son & plan to use with my not dyslexic younger daughter.

Excellent Resource
I purchased this book to help with my 3 year old son who just didn't seem to be learning things very well. The book has helped tremendously! I would recommend it to all parents of young children. It is easy to read and the exercises are easy to follow and do with young children. Dr. Lane explains well the reasons for different activities, which has enabled me to incorporate more learning activities into our "normal" routine.

Forget the doomsdayers - let's rejoice!
Many futurist, spiritually-based writers seem to find reasons why the future is disastrous and find ancient-derived and channeled insights to justify their pessimism. Leslie and Hugh, on the other hand, using wit, extraordinary insight and intuition, well developed reasoning powers, and some of the same information sources, show the extraordinary future that lays ahead for us. All we need to do is claim it. A well written, optimistic and joyous handbook that does and extraordinary job of boiling down complex and sometimes-difficult-to-understand scientific and metaphysical subject matter into easy and entertaining reading. It is medicine and inspiration for all on a self-discovery journey.

The End of the World (a handbook for the practical idealist)
If you have, even for a moment, ever thought about how quickly things around us are changing in the world we live in, then you definitely want to dig into this thought provoking...and extremely timely book. Will it scare you? It may. Will it disturb you? Perhaps. Will it empower you? Most definitely! The End of the World mixes humor with well thought out cultural research, it blends a refreshing spiritual optimism inot a subject that has otherwise been described by calamity, disaster and catastrophe. It's a fantastic book for anyone looking to shed some spiritual light onto the perceived darkness of the 'end times.'

GOOD TEXTBOOK -- MUST HAVE FOR THE PRACTICING ENDOCRINOLOGIS
As a practicing endocrinologist in New York, i have found this book to be very useful. The text explores all areas of endocrinology in great detail and is an excellent board review tool. There are many diagrams. The section on gestational diabetes is especially well written. I saved over $100 dollars by purchasing this book through Amazon as opposed to buying it from my local university bookstore. A multi volume edition would be a good thing to have as this is a very big heavy book.

For 17th century dancers
To my fellow reader I give my heartly welcome.

John Playford is one of the most know dance teacher all times. So this book is a must to everyone who is starting or has danced historical dances. Music is no problem if you know how to play violin or recorder, because there are notes for every dance.

If you don't know how to play that isn't a problem at all. In the internet you can find freely copyable music to almost every dance.

English country dances are easy and fun to dance. And you have to use your head in these dances that is very different to modern discodancing. So buy the book, start to dance it keeps dementia away.

Happy dancing.

Excellent usable guide to 17th century dance
The English Dancing Master has been most useful to our theater company in staging authentic ancient dance. The single line of melody in standard music notation is easy for musicians to use. The dance instructions are clear and make it easy for a small group to learn the dance. The dances are beautiful, and there is a wide variety of styles and partnering.

the short skinny on latte
Caution: reading this book while talking on your cell phone driving down the freeway increases your risk of spilling your coffee. Loved the helpful hints for removing coffee stains from uphostery!! (and the cover photos of the authors are great)

It made me laugh till my latte came out my nose!
I saw so much of myself and my caffeine addicted friends in this book. I felt empathy for Linda Latte and her plight to kick the coffee habit. I've given this book as a gift countless times and every time it is well-received (albeit in hands that are shaking and sweaty) but they love it none-the-less. I even put the first five pages in my Braun coffee grinder and created my own blend, "Linda's Blend", it's light, lively with mocha afternotes and it's a good source of fiber. Please E-Mail me and tell me if you've found any great uses for this marvelous read

Sharp Writing, Beautiful Illustrations
This book is a wonderful combination of storytelling, illustration, and biology! Kids meet all sorts of creatures from the Hawaiian seascape-eels, shrimp, limpets, squid, seabirds, and more--and learn valuable life lessons told in a clear, humorous text.

Many of the fables teach respect for kids' peers and the environment-while celebrating both. This is a book to read-and re-read with enjoyment.

Learn a lesson and smile!
Fables span time and space; they date back many centuries and can be found in all cultures. Handed down from generation to generation, the purpose of a fable is to teach a particular lesson, value, or to give sage advice. They also provide us with the opportunity to laugh at our foolishness and cry and comfort each other when faced with tragedy. They connect us not only with the world of nature and other cultures but ultimately they define what makes us human. In Fables from the Sea, the author has studied what the sea has to offer and discovered ten lessons, reminding us of the importance of kindness, honesty and perserverance. Her illustrator, a childhood friend, has taken those lessons and illustrated them in the most splendid and vibrant watercolors. A must for readers of all ages! Even adults can be reminded about what happens to complaining cowries! Like Fables from the Garden, Fables from the Sea is a beautiful and lasting gift, just one of the sea's many treasures.
