Super guide to American casinos
I first purchased Mr. Bourie's annual book many years ago, andlook forward to each new and expanded edition of his work. He tellsyou practically everything you need to know about casino gaming, then describes the basic offerings of every casino in the country, and then provides coupons that will save you hundreds of dollars when you visit many of the casinos listed. What else could you ask for? Any casino player who doesn't purchase this book every year is missing the boat!

Gambling--Yummy
Like to gamble? Me too! This guide tells you where all the casinos are in the good old USA. There are maps, plus detailed city maps of Las Vegas, Tunica, Biloxi, and others. It has strategy tables for blackjack and coupons for various discounts and freebies. You'll find me at a video poker machine--see you there! Good Luck!

comprehensive book with lot's of help for the daily work
A shame this book is out of stock... The book puts at your hand all the (more technical) mean to perform efficiently in your sales job. The book contains lots of tabels and worksheets which are perfect for the start. Of course - if you don't want to have any system in your work behavior then avoid this book! ;-) The book does not contain anything much about psychology, closing, arguing etc. For this I refer everybody to the topic of NLP (neuro-linguistic programming). There are even some books who make it explicitly clear what are pros of NLP to the sales person....

ITS ONE OF THE GOOD BOOKS I HAVE READ.
IT IS DEEP ROOTED IN THE SUBJECT AND I GAINED IMMENCE KNOWLEDGE FROM THIS

Introduction to Biblical Studies
This is not a scholarly book in the sense that it's not part of any visible academic debate. It does not treat any particular issue in enough depth to be so.

It is, rather, a sort of textbook. Call it "Introduction to Academic Thought About the Bible." Following the order of the biblical texts and with detours to discuss such topics as the pseudepigrapha and the inter-testamental period, the book lays out basic issues of historical, archaeological and textual biblical criticism, such as, for instance, the idea of the J, E, D and P-authored components of the Old Testament, or the question to what extent the books of Joshua and Judges present different narratives of the conquest of Palestine by the Israelites, and what archaeology has to say about that conquest.

The book does not discuss theology (at least, not modern theology). If you're an inerrantist, this book is not what you're looking for. If you're reading the Bible for the first time, this is probably too much information and not the kind you need to help you follow the narrative. Though it has a section of color plates (and black and white photos throughout) and a limited number of maps, this is not an atlas. This is also not a debunk-the-Bible book -- mainstream believers in the inspired nature of the Biblical should by and large have no objection to the contents of this book.

But if you're generally familiar with the Bible, and interested in increasing your knowledge (in particular, I would suggest reading this alongside a reading of the Bible itself, a method to which the organization of this book lends itself) about Bible studies, I recommend this book without reservation.

Readable, yet scholarly
This book goes through the Bible historically and gives you the latest in textual and archeological research. It is an easy read, and it seems written for mass consumption, but it is not unscholarly. It is for true students of the Holy Scriptures and not for people who think the holy books are magic words from God. It is a sane, yet reverent approach to the study of ancient literature which we believe is inspired by God. It is NOT fundamentalist. If you are serious about Bible studies, then I recommend this volume whole-heartedly.

Don't give up on this one
"Dr. Thorne" is the third in the series of Barsetshire novels by Anthony Trollope. But unlike the first two, this has little to do with the politics of the Church of England. It is the tale of two lovers from different classes, and their struggle to keep their love alive in spite of social pressures to go their own ways. Unlike the first two novels, the plot starts out very slowly, with long descriptions of the history and conditions of the fictional "Greshamsbury" estate. The author even apologizes about 30 pages in for trying the patience of his readers.

While "Dr. Thorne" lacks the crispness and economy of the first two novels ("The Warden" and "Barchester Towers"), it builds to a satisfying conclusion, and the author paints his usual precise characterizations.

If you are a fan of Anthony Trollope, be patient with this one. You will be rewarded.

Matrimonial dilemma--For love or for money?
Mary Thorne, orphaned (and illegitimate) niece of Dr. Thorne, has long been a favorite at Greshamsbury House--until Lady Arabella Gresham learns that her only son Frank is in love with Mary. The unhappy Mary is banished forthwith, because the Gresham family fortunes are so depleted that Frank must marry money.

Frank, however, is one of the few completely honorable young men in Trollope's novels and remains stubbornly true to his love. Well, he does propose to another woman, at the insistence of his mother, but only with the virtual certainty that he will be rejected--as indeed he is. The lady is Miss Dunstable, one of Trollope's most delightful characters, a fabulously wealthy thirtyish heiress of an ointment company. She is a bold, witty woman, not beautiful, but attractive in her way, whose wealth invites countless proposals.

After the rather complicated plot unfolds, the tables are completely turned, and Mary is eagerly welcomed by Lady Arabella (who, of course, has always loved her) as the savior of the family.

I concede that "The Last Chronicle of Barset" is the best of the Barsetshire novels, but I dearly love "Dr. Thorne." The character of the doctor himself is strong and sympathetic. Frank, Mary, Miss Dunstable, Lady Arabella, Sir Roger Scatcherd, and such minor characters as Dr. Thorne's rival, Dr. Fillgrave (one of Trollope's punnily named characters), form a superb cast. And the outcome is thoroughly satisfying. I probably enjoyed reading this novel more than any of the others.

One of the best introductions to Nuclear energy production..
This is an excellent book to introduce the main issues involved in the production of nuclear energy. Perfect for the beguinner and the non-expert reader. The most interesting fact is the presentation of safety issues and policies as well as reactor desing principles and procedures.

Excelent book for the non-nuclear engineer
A great book to self-teach nuclear engineering. Oriented to the advanced student of physics, or the engineer. Starts with a review of particle physics and modern physic basics, ending in the design of nuclear reactors, safety procedures and effects of radiation on living organisms.

Excellent Book for Exam Revision
I have just spent the last month revising for my medical exams and have found Bray et al an indespensible component of my study regime. The book presents complex topics in a simple understandable format. I would not hesitate to recommend it to any of my fellow students. It gets a double thumbs up from me!!

Forget the rest, Bray is the best.
Bray et.al is the best physiology text avaliable today. This text clearly presents a range of physiological topics and is well written by the learned staff of the Otago University Physiology Dept. Prof. Bray is to be commended for his concise and accurate editorial style. I found the figures particularly understandable and loved thier minimalistic style. A MUST for every med student and those interested in how the body functions. I look forward to the next edition.

Great MM Text.
This text gives adequate explanation of the topics with detailed visual aids and applicable case studies performed by other authors. This is a great text for learning the basis and application of MM. I recommend having access to a program such as Gaussian or HyperChem in order to create your own examples.

This is a very good book, well written with good references
This is a very good overview of molecular mechanics usage in chemistry. It has a very complete coverage of the properties that are computable and and realistic examples of the computations and results. I highly recommend this book to people who wish to learn molecular mechanics uses in chemistry and to those who want to see property's compared at the molecular mechanics level of accuracy.

All You Ever Wanted To Know About Moose
Who knew I would be looking for information about moose? Then I was traveling to Maine and wanted to know all about them. Adult or child, this is the book to start with. Simple, basic chapters explain the strange appearance of the moose, their habits, their habitat, and their social customs. Grand, solitary creatures, members of the deer family, they are actually making a comeback now, particularly in the northern tier of states. The pictures accompanying each little chapter are breathtaking, magnificent and appealing. The text is completely lucid, easy enough for a child to read, but packed with enough interesting information to satisfy an adult's curiosity. (Well, mine, anyway). If you are headed for moose country (or just interested in animals) I recommend this one highly!

The perfect little moose book.
Compact yet complete, less than 50 pages, but packed with fabulous photos and facts. Simple enough for the kids but with enough information for adults. Great buy.
