The book divides the national parks into geographic sections: east, southwest, colorado plateau, pacific southwest, rocky mountains, pacific northwest, and alaska. Within each section there is a map locating the parks and detailed information on each national park in that area. These individual descriptions provide valuable information such as how to get there and where to go; along with incredibly powerful photographs of each park.
When you decide what parks to visit, there is information about accomodations and special advisories. However, it is probably best to then read specific information on that national park. The NPS operates a great website with a bit of information on each park, and links to more information that you need to visit that park.

I'm putting this on my Christmas list for all teenage people I know, who could use an exotic, creative experience.
The other cool thing about this book is that it's full of websites with info. on every aspect of living, working, or volunteering abroad.
I love the personal stories in the section "A Global Citizen's Perspective" because, as a traveler, you can really connect to the experience of the author and other people who have done what you want to do.
If you are looking for a a life changing adventure, then travel abroad. If you want to stay abroad, then get this book!!

If you are a family member, friend, or mentor of an involved College or University student, this book is a must! Reading it yourself will give you insight into what your student is experiencing, but giving it as a gift can do so much to support and validate your student's leadership experiences.
Keep an eye out for more books in this series! They are sure to be meaningful!
I admit that I'm one of the co-authors. But keep this in mind-- as editor of Student Leader magazine, I don't lend my name and reputation to just any project.
I was, and am, proud to be associated with this uplifting and inpsiriational book. It's written similiar in style to the Chicken Soup series, including lots of heartwarming stories written by campus leaders themselves nationwide.
This book is perfect for leadership retreats, workshops, and seminars. It would be the perfect addition to any leadership classes as well.
If you're the parent, friend, or relative of a student government leader, resident assistant, Greek leader, or other campus leader, this book would be the perfect easy gift!

Written in diary from with drawing and scrapes from hear and there this book was really a very good book that gave great insight into the minds of two Union spies. I recommend anyone who likes this book to read the Dear America Series which is also historical novels written in diary form about different girl's lives in different parts of history.

You and your kids will meet children like Carlitos, a boy who lives on an Argintine ranch in a three bedroom house and rides horses and drinks Mate tea. -- Or Suchart, from Thiland, a 12 year old budhist monk in training who lives in a small hut on stilts, has no toys, and starts his day begging for alms in his small village. He likes the cats who live in the temple, and is always losing his sandals because he has to take them off before he goes into the temple and forgets where he left them. -- And Thi Lien, in Vietnam who wears beautiful batik died traditional clothes made by her mother, helps feed the families chickens and harvest rice, and collects firewood. -- And Celina, who lives in the Amazon Rain Forrest of Brazil in a mud brick two room hut. She likes to paint herself with die made from a local root every day, and has never worn shoes. She likes to take the canoe out on the river her family lives near.
There is information about each child's favorite activities, what they eat, what they wear, pictures of thier home, family members, religious practices, and special things about thier cultures. This book has many children from Australia, Africa, The Americas, The Philipenes, Europe, Asia, India, and more. I have enjoyed looking at all the childred in this book and reading about how they live. Even though it's for children, anyone can enjoy this book. I only wish it had more children to meet. This book shows how children and people everywhere have the same thoughts, and fun, even though they may live in vastly different conditions.
Elizabeth meets up with a girl who claims to be her guardian angel, who shows her how important she really is.
By far one of the more touching books in the Sweet Valley Twins series, "A Christmas Without Elizabeth" is a touching yet funny story about Christmas.
This is by far one of the most memorable books I have ever read, and I read several books each year. This is one of the first books that, although I hated to put it down, I made myself read slowly, savoring every moment. I highly recommend it to anyone over the age of eighteen. (Some situations are not appropriate for younger readers.)
Yellowstone and the surrounding area becomes a battlefield in more than one war, with complex plots intermingling with stunning scenery for a profound effect. This book is unpredictable, engrossing, and very readable.
If you've never been to Yellowstone, by the end of the book, you will feel you have, and will find a desire to want to see it with your own eyes.
