This book was laden with improbable characters and situations throughout. From the wimpy girl who spent her whole life fixating over a kidnapped friend and still blaming herself for his disappearance as an adult, to the serial killers and cops who spoke with perfect diction, to the cops allowing the said wimpy girl to join in a SWAT team stake out - and many, many more, the book kept me shaking my head throughout. The other major problem was that the reader is told how the characters feel, over and over and over and over again. Save your money!

This was a fun book... I normally don't read suspense but my 11 yr old daughter said it was great. It's a clean book with no objectionable language... there is intrigue, antagonism, humor, sadness and much emotion. It may be considered "unsophisticated" by some but it's a very good story which makes for a good read.

This was a livey story. Full of supence from the begining to the end. What I didn't like about it was the main girl Jeri was portraied as a sheepish little cry baby. When she should of been strong and gutsy. Kathy

He my Professor, so of course I think the book is excellent. Of course I am not lying. Well I think it is good if you like those detective stories. He is a non-traditional mystery writer, so if ready for change read this book!!!

Only a Memory Away is a good read for anyone who loves amnesia stories. The prose is smooth and so is the pace. While I found some minor logic questions, I had no trouble following the story. St. Clair does a good job with her setting, and I could easily see all her scenes and characters. She really keeps you hanging right to the very end.

Richardsons' chartbook and cruising guide, including Lake St. Clair, Detroit River, Niagara River, St. Clair River
Published in Unknown Binding by Richardson's Marine Pub. Co. ()
Amazon base price: $
Average review score:

The 5th Edition (6/9/00),... has the lakes, rivers and ports covered, but in black and white; all land formations are sepia. No greens, no blues, no magenta. Using Richardsons' is like going back to 1-2-3 V.2.2: the data is right but the data is unfriendly. Colors are there on NOAA charts to make navigation buoys leap out, starboard or port, to cite only one use of color.
This criticism aside, lots of good information is assembled here, general as to navigation and specific as to port facilities. If the chart reproductions were not so insipid, Richardsons' might take two more stars.

99 Ways to Drive Your Child Sane
Published in Paperback by Families by Design (1999)

I am shocked that any health professional would recommend this ... collection of parenting activities (organized like a recipe book). Apparently St.Clair's basic idea is that parents can build trust with their children by humiliating them and by acting irrationally and unpredictably. St. Clair promotes the notion that home life is a game that parents must win and children must lose. This is just more abusive nonsense from the "Holding Therapy" cult.

In 2001, the book's author was sentenced to probation and community service as her penalty in the "rebirthing therapy" death of Candace Newmaker. Enough said to be very wary of the contents of this book and the mind that wrote it.

As a psychologist, parent and foster parent I found this book to be a wonderful resource. This book consists of 99 specific activities / responses for a wide variety of situations. This is a "must have" for parents dealing with children with any emotional or behavioral problems. It is also a great book for anyone wishing to improve their parenting skills. With ideas ranging from "SLOW PRACTICE" for those kids who express their passive aggressive tendencies by doing things purposely slowly to "MUMBLE AWAY" for those kids who you have to ask to repeat themselves - repeatedly. This book should be named "99 Ways To Drive Your Child Sane" (Without Going Crazy). I strongly recommend it to parents of all children.

Aesthetic theory as an ontologized by Clair recasts work that has been done in different disciplines for hundreds of years. There is nothing new about the content of the book or the way in which it is written. Import-heavy, poor in possibilities, quick to be politically correct- this is communication studies at its very worst.
