A different kind of adventure
Mark Wellman lost most of the use of his legs in a mountain climbing fall when he was a young man. This book tells the story of his accident and journey through recovery and development into an elite athlete and outdoor adventurer. It is an adventure story that not only includes exploits such as Wellman's ascents (post-accident!) of the big walls in Yosemite but also his "adventure" of adapting to his situation so he could continue doing the things he loved. Quotes from various characters that Wellman meets during his journey are included in scattered excerpts and add interest to the story. The story slows a little at the end as Wellman finds his way into the nation's limelight, but overall it is an engaging telling of an uplifting story. I also highly recommend this book for persons who have undergone a spinal cord injury (like myself) and are looking at an uncertain future.

Really Good Text. Great for Exams.
This is a book and series that I would recommend to any law student. One of the problems I have found about law school is there is a lot of reading without very much learning. The essence of it is that the case method doesn't work and the practical skills you lack are blaring on the first day you show up at your job.

The nice thing about this book is that it acknowledges that the cases don't do you much good unless you understand how they affect the client or his circumstances. This book is filled with examples and answers for each type of case you study. This proves extremely, extremely, valuable when its time for the exam and you are looking at fact patters.

In addition, I have hated previous guides because they don't recognize that we have gone to class and we need a new way to look at the issue. This book gives you short introduction, so your not reading twenty pages before actually trying to learn something.

The only weakness with this book is that Crim Pro is almost exclusively constitutional law and not statutory. As a result, the brevity of text I just praised makes it a bit difficult to see how cases at times might work together. This becomes a little more apparent when you switch from issues with the Fourth Amendment to issues with the Fifth. While the two work together much of the time, I wanted more of a line in the sand.

This book is great though if you are using it with a casebook. You will be very glad you bought it. I would also highly recommend this book to those of you who freeze up in exams. The examples in this book will allow you see the fact patterns before and save you time under pressure.

Encyclopedia of Artists' Signatures, Symbols & Monograms
This is a massive collection of signatures that is probably unequaled in any single reference. As a collector of moderately priced regional art, I found it lacking the examples I would be most interested in. On the other hand, the more famous and well known artists are represented well. This book is probably more suited to the experts rather than the weekend treasure hunter.

For the Love of Golden Retrievers
This book is a pleasure to read, because it not only contains beautiful full-page, color calendar-quality photos of Goldens, but also gives the history of the breed as it became differentiated from other retriever breeds. The author has carefully documented the early geneology of the breed, and describes the scientific rationale for the program of inbreeding, line-breeding and outcrossing which established the breed characteristics. It was a real treat to find such depth of explanation presented so clearly. Experienced breeders as well as newcomers to the fancy will enjoy and learn from this book.

America's most entrepreneurial inventor.
The title of this book is long, so it is cut short on the listing. That is why it has that freakish title in the online listing, which ends "America's Most Entrepreneur." What it really says, (on the cover of the book) is: "What you can learn from the phenomenal story of America's most entrepreneurial inventor."

The cover also informs us that the author is founder and ceo of Hayes Inventive Research Corporation.

It is an interesting book. Personal stories are mixed with information and advice. Some diagrams, some photographs, some charts and drawings. The format is similar to How I Made $1,000,000 In Mail Order (and you can too) by E. Joseph Cossman.

The book contains a variety of topics and writings; and this leaves me with 2 thoughts to express. 1-You probably won't like the entire book. 2-You will certainly like some of the book, and that may be all that is relevant to you.

Robert M. Hayes promotes and is upbeat on the idea of obtaining patents and using patent attorneys. In those areas, some of the harsher realities seem left out.

Distribution is discussed, as is the idea of sales, and both of these are handled well. The book is interesting and inspirational, though you will probably need more technically candid information to fully implement such business activities. Nonetheless, the book is good.

interesting
This collection of unfinished stories was very interesting. It's very cool to know these unfinished tales. This product is not quite as good as the original Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer novels but is defenately a good collection. Some of the stories aren't as good as others but there are several that are very good.

Intellectual Property in the New Technological Age
This book is an excellent text dealing with multiple aspects of American intellectual property law. As a Canadian law student I found its approach of using first principles to introduce readers to the basics of intellectual property law very useful. From the first principles of copywright, trademark and patent law the book proceeds to give an insightful exposition of the developments of each of these areas of law in response to recent developments in the sciences. While some attention is paid to biotechnology in the patent section of the book, most of the work focusses on the impact of developments in intellectual property law as a result of information technology. Not only is this book timely but it also gives a very in depth analysis of these timely issues that I have not come across in other texts on the subject. I have just completed my LL.B at an excellent Canadian Law school. I specialised almost entirely in intellectual property law and found this to be my favourite text. Not just amongst my IP courses but amongst all the courses that it was my pleasure to take. If you are interested in IP and you want an understanding of it based Utilitarian first principles this book is an excellent resourse.

Very interesting, but sometimes too technical
This is a very intersting book regarding philosophy and biological origins, but in some places, it is bogged down with technical discussions that may be hard to comprehend by those lacking a strong physics background.

Mark Time
Published in Paperback by D-N Publishing (15 December, 1998)
Author: Robert Hinson
Amazon base price: $5.95
Average review score:

An exciting traipse taking young adults back in time.
Mr. Hinson presents an interesting adventure in science and history. Todd's date with Tina becomes a trek back in time, and his interaction with cavemen and prehistoric animals brings the ancient past to life.

His knowledge of the period and teenagers vividly show how modern teens might react in a setting free of TVs, CDs, and computers. He has given his characters depth, insight, and street-smarts in a world they never dreamed they would encounter.

A book like this could be an asset for augmenting a science or history class.
