The Authoritative Kosher Dining Guide is a comprehensive guide to kosher dining in NYC. It basically performs the same function as Zagat, plus it has comprehensive information on Kashrut status including hecturim and whether or not the restuarant is open on shabbat. It has discounts in Kosher restaurants and has on line updates available so The information therein is always up to date. If you keep Kosher and dine out it is an excellent resource.

While reading B. FRANKLIN, PRINTER I felt I was immersed in the 18th century with Franklin. I felt I really knew him. I loved the escerpts from colonial newspapers, especially the ones from 1775, the first-hand reports from the firing at Lexington and Concord. I was never bored!

Great introduction of everyday household activities. Good supporting pictures.

Benjamin Takes Care of Mommy is my 4 1/2 yr. old daughter's favorite book! We bought the book originally for my baby nephew whose name is Benjamin! My daughter Madeline wanted to read it before we wrapped it up. It became an instant bed time (or any time!) hit. The book is about a young bear whose mommy is sick and has to stay in bed for the day. Benjamin takes it upon himself to bring his mommy honey rolls and tea to bed, sweep the kitchen floor and wash clothes. My daughter has read it so many times that she has memorized all the words so now she "reads" it to me. It is the first book I've ever read that focuses on children taking care of their parents. Mommy's get sick too you know!

This book has increased my 15 month old son's vocabulary immensly. The layout is perfect for a child to make day to day associations. Should be followed by "Benjamin's First Word Book".

My son loves this book. At age 10 months, he will sit and look at it for 10 minutes as intently as if he were studying for a major exam! It's pretty funny!

This book is a good introduction to the basic terminology of the Fourth Way tradition. What is most essential to understand is the irreplacable and unavoidable necessity of objective self-observation; the ability to see ourselves as we really are, not as we THINK we are. Unfortunately, self-observation and self-remembering are grossly misunderstood these days and the Fourth Way is rapidly degenerating; but this text can be helpful for the serious student who is willing to genuinely seek self-knowledge, not mere book knowledge. We must be on guard moment to moment, in clear observation of the mind, the false sense of self, and be remembering ourselves, our consciousness, by being fully present, rather than being identified with thoughts, feelings and sensations. I use this book all the time as an artist and a teacher. I wish there were a book for each one of the fantastic artists in the book, but so glad that here is a book about us (Black Women) by us (Black Women). The reproductions are many and excellent. A great introduction to Black Women doing art that get exposure on a more national scale

I am a music composer and I have found the essays by Bartok compiled in this book very interesting and helpful. For example, there are several essays describing how Bartok organized many of his compositions. There are also several essays describing different types of folk music such as American, Rumanian, and Hungarian. There is an essay on the 'So-called Bulgarian Rhythm.' I definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in learing about different types of folk music or anything about Bela Bartok and is compositions.

This is a wonderful book! My own daughter (now an Attorney) still quotes lines from it. Any two children growing up together will enjoy the humor. Our twin godchildren howl at this story. We would be so happy to see it return to print. Children deserve a chance to read this classic Rosemary Wells title.
