this nicely printed book contains several essays by peter and other authors. in this book, peter goes beyond DIAGRAM DIARIES to focus on the blurring process which materializes the figural from the diagram, to explain why and how to destable the relationship between the diagram and the figural. it is not only an extension of DIAGRAM DIARIES, but also self-systematic.

other authors' essays refleted his idea in other veiwpoint. very helpful for understanding his theory but also inspire your own idea.

A refreshing change from the cultural norm-
In a world where sex, drugs, and violence tops the market, a light romance that touches the heart is the missing ingredient we all need in our soups of life. The detailed and vivid images of Brooklyn, NY gives the story and characters to a certain vitality. You feel as if you've known them all your life and have seen them on the streets. For anyone who's looking for something to bring a smile to their face, Brooklyn Ballerina dances it's way to the top of my list!

Perfect mix of Brooklyn and Ballet.
If you ever lived in Brooklyn or know someone who did you will love this book. I did.

A Bullet for Lincoln

An incredibly believable Lincoln Assasination theory.
Mr. King presents the next chapter in the exploits of the Assasin "Anderson," whom we met in "A Bullet for Stonewall." This is another extremely well researched book. Mr. King blends actual events and historic characters with his theory of the "real" reason behind President Lincoln's assasination. Incredibly, it makes more sense than the widely accepted version that was a product of the Assasination Conspiracy Trials. Mr. King spares no details in this book. His thorough research is evident in the inor details of the book, such as the pocket watch that "Anderson" looks at in a pawn shop. I was amazed to read about one of my own ancestors in the book. Mr. King's accounts of this man's actions were identical to docmented family research that I have on this individual. I found it incredible that Mr. King had gotten this information through public records of the conspiracy trial. For you history buffs who might view this book with scepticism, I think that you will be very satisfied with its quality. After reading it, you will begin to wonder if the widely accepted version of the assasination is actually true.

A Good Read
A Bullet for Lincoln is a sequel to a Bullet for Stonewall. It is a fast paced tale of one of the most famous Presidential assassinations in American history. Set in the dying days of the Civil War, the author vividly describes a plot by wealthy industrialists to murder Lincoln. Why? Well, you will have to read the book to find out. And it is a right good riveting read, full of plot twists and suprises. You may well find yourself wondering how much of the book is true (like in Oliver Stone's JFK). The book does have a lot of thoroughly researched historical facts. Mr. King is a very knowledgeable military historian who works for the US Army in the Peninsula area of Virginia

Superb - absolutely so.
I loved the movie Dangerous Liasons with Glenn Close and John Malkovich and decided to try this audio version of the book. I can't say it was better than the movie, but the audio is superb. It is on 3 CDs and so is longer than the movie and supplies more detail. Since it is in letter form, its style more closely follows the book. The readers show incredible and intense emotion in their voices - you can almost see them in your mind. It made my commuting a joy for several days - I was almost sorry when I got to the office or arrived back home and had to quit listening. Such devious-ness! Who is the most wicked? Enjoy.

Info on the tapes
I must admit that I have not listened to the tapes. However, the new movie "Crule Intentions" is based on this book. I have seen the movie and if the two are anything alike, I would highly recommend ordering them.

Disappearing Persons: Shame and Appearance (Suny Series in Psychoanalysis and Culture)
Published in Paperback by State Univ of New York Pr (2002)
Author: Benjamin Kilborne
Amazon base price: $19.95
Buy one from zShops for: $19.90
Average review score:

The Mutifarious Mind
Kilborne's book achieves itself quietly and with a tremendous and subtle power. Interweaving a vast knowledge of literature with a keen understanding of the vissisitudes of language and pychoanalytic practice, Kilborne explores the nature of grief and loss. This book is extraordinary in its capacity to articulate clearly and concisely the private phemonenon by which people come to lose themselves, only to spend their lives attempting to reconstruct that central loss.

Review of Disappearing Persons
This is a wonderful book, filled with psychoanalytic wisdom on an often neglected topic, that of shame and its contribution to character development. Kilborne writes with grace and wit, interweaving analytic concepts and case studies with a rich collection of references from literature, philosophy, anthropology, history and even politics. The book covers lots of territory, but not at the expense of depth. It never loses its focus on the concept of shame, and never descends into the byzantine psychoanalytic jargonizing one encounters so often in books of this type. It also contains abundant references and end notes. I highly recommend it for psychoanalysts, other psychotherapists and anyone else with a humanistic interest.

Quick, easy and you can actually read the print.
A fellow medical student showed me this pocket book and I am glad I bought it. It is very easy to use and the print is readable. The best part of this book is the list of dosing for Peds. I don't have to look up the amount based on the kg of the child; its right there. Highly recommend for those of us who work or do clinical rotations in the out-patient setting.

WOW! From Head to Toe, the way to go!!!
This is an amazingly useful and easy to use book! Unlike most other antibiotic guides this one gives you all the information you need when a patient with an infection is in front of you in the office. Not only the drug of choice, but useful alternative therapies, dosages (adults and children), common adverse effects and other helpful prescribing information. And it's so easy to find the infection you're looking for- since the book is arranged from anatomical top (HEENT)in the front to bottom (GU) in the back. There's a separate section for antimicrobials in addition to the one for the disease syndromes. The book fits perfectly into a lab coat (or shirt) pocket and is up to date and highly accurate. The best antibiotic guide I've seen.

Dutton's Nautical Navigation

Not essential to navigation, but most desirable

The essentials to celestial navigation are a sextant, the current nautical almanac, and an accurate timepiece correctible to Greenwich Mean Time (Coordinated Universal Time.)

Given those things and some basic instruments and charts, and of course the requisite knowledge and skills to use them, you can find your way on the trackless oceans of the world.

If you lack the knowledge and skills to use the above instruments and objects, you can learn to use them, with the application of the necessary dilligence and intelligence, in either of two volumes, this one and the 'American Practical Navigator.' The latter comes in two volumes, and is published by the U.S. government (Defense Mapping Agency Hydrographic Center).

Both volumes are used as textbooks by the United States Naval Academy and the United States Power Squadrons, to teach celestial navigation. I am a full certificate member of the latter organization.

I recommend them to you.

Joseph Pierre, N
Author of THE ROAD TO DAMASCUS: Our Journey Through Etermnity

A systematic and complete book about navigation
This book is very complete covering all aspects of navigation from simple pilotage to gyro compass. The approach is always didactic and very complete describing f.i. not less than 4 methods of sight reduction for Astro Navigation. Although written for merchant navy, it is also suitable for small craft navigation.

This is an excellent book. Not only is it clear the authors are extremely knowledge but the organization of the book makes it easy to find the information you need quickly. The recipes not only provide the needed information to solve problems but also lead you to better overall design decisions. Also the intoduction to XDoclet was appreciated.

Excellent quick reference
This book does just what it claims. I don't need to read the whole thing to learn something new, I can open to any recipe. I just bought this book, and I really like it. I keep it handy while I am coding. It has a great index that makes it easy to find what I need. Definitely recommended.
