Musical Origami
This book is totally awesome! Really hard origami, though. Still, if you can do it, the models are totally impressive.

A most excellent book!
Marc Kirschenbaum's book is a wonderful collection of origami models with a fantastic theme. The models are high intermediate in difficultly, but clearly diagrammed and should prove a pleasant challenge for experienced folders. The theme of all musicians is delightful and unique among origami collections! In addition, Mr. Kirschenbaum has prefaced each model with insights to his creative process as well as friendly folding tips which anticipate the trickier folding manoeuvres he's created. This really gives the books a personal touch and makes the diagrams much more accessible. Thank you for creating such a wonderful book!

Welch a master of images
I love this song. Although made famous by Peter, Paul and Mary, the creative genius stems from Willy Welch. He perfectly captures the memories and emotions of the young daydreaming ballplayer in all of us. This is truly a magical book, and I recommend for any parent or grandparent.

Wonderful witt from Willy Welch!
Every man who ever played any form of baseball needs to read this book to a youngster, especially if he was always the last chosen for a team. If "Playing Right Field" by Willy Welch doesn't stir the reader's emotional caulderon, be sure and check their pulse. Not only do I relate to this work in my own childhood, but also as a former baseball coach. Welch captured the essence of how one might reflect on those childhood days, filled with a mixture of happy and painful memories. How well I remember being chosen last for the team, being last to bat, playing right field...and of catching a difficult popup-fly ball. The artistic work of illustrator Marc Simont beautifully adds to "Playing Right Field." And the poetry was a natural to be matched with music, and is performed by folk artists Peter, Paul and Mary, on their albums "No Easy Walk to Freedom" and "Peter, Paul and Mommy Two." I rank this on the top rung of children's poetry, along with such greats as "Where The Sidewalk Ends" and "The Butterfly Jar." This is a book everyone should own!

Behind the glitter
Friedman's dramatic, richly detailed book is essential reading for those wanting to understand the Nobel physics and chemistry decisions in their first fifty years.

Behind the scenes good stuff
This is the 100th anniversary of the Nobel prizes, and it's a wonder it took this long for someone to take a good look at what went on behind the scenes in Stockholm for all these years. Friedman's book dishes dirt but does it with white gloves and a magnifying glass. The footnotes are just as much fun as the book itself. The book answers some of the questions about the wierdness associated with the Nobels. For one: What did they have against Einstein? The conspiratorial answer is here in the chapter - "Einstein Must Never Get a Nobel Prize." For another: Who got the money when they didn't award a prize?

This book is eminently readable from several professional angles. It has delicious Nobel trivia hidden on every page. It explains science so that I can understand most of it, even quantum theory. I wish there were photographs of the winners and the major players, and I wish the list of winners would have included descriptions of what they won for, but those are only slight criticisms.

The story of the intrigue and pettiness behind the Nobels is presented chronologically. Most important to me was that Friedman not only explains what happened - and he deserves extra credit for cheerfully explaining the tedious machinations behind Swedish scholarly politics - but presents the motivation, much of it a surprising pro-German bent, behind the events.

I am acquainted with Prof. Friedman, and only a fellow with a deep sense of professionalism and and an equally sharp sense of humor and irony could have pulled this off.

A book to be read many times over.
A fantastic story of good things happening to an unassuming work horse who quietly lives her life in the shadow of three very spoiled and malicious show horses. A story that shows us that it is very easy to take the good things in our lives for granted. The number of times my mother read this story to me as a kid are countless. I only hope that my own children will remember this story as well as I do when they are grown up. A story to be passed on for generations.

A charming book for young readers
Polly's Oats is a truly wonderful tale about a poor old work horse who saves the day and the other posh horses that live on the farm. This book demonstrates that goodness always prevails in the end. I am now 34 years old and think of my grandmother reading this book to me often. It was my favorite childhood story. I own this book in its original hardcover form, yet have searched out to obtain another copy only to find it was out of print. This is a joy to find!! I'm grinning ear -to-ear. In order for my husband to marry me, he had to read this delightful tale to me the night before our wedding. God bless you for putting this back in circulation. Aside from the story line I also have always enjoyed the pencil drawing illustrations in this little jem.

The Private Interest Foundation of Panama (Harris, Marc M. Harris Offshore Manual.)

Panama has a lot going for it
Panama has many good things going for it. First, it's the safest place in Central or South America (the Pinkerton Global Intelligence Agency recently gave Panama its highest rating for tourist safety). It's also one of the most developed countries south of the United States (home to some of the biggest companies in the world, including 120 banking giants and other Fortune 500 companies, including Federal Express, DHL, Sears, Price Costco, and Bell South).

Plus, Panama has a stable government, a stable currency (the U.S. dollar since 1904), and virtually no inflation. In other words, this country is the exception to the rule in Central America. As The Economist recently reported, in Central America, "Panama has stood apart, sustained by its Canal, its banks, and its free-trade zone."

In other words, Panama has its act together. And is poised to become one of the most attractive overseas havens in the world in years to come.

All of these factors add to the value of creating a foundation in Panama, even if you don't choose it as a retirement haven.

A great alternative to Liechtenstein
The Panama foundation described in this book is a modest priced alternative to the Liechtenstein foundation, on which it was patterned. But as the Panama legislation is several decades newer, it is more flexible and offers a useful alternative to the average investor seeking offshore asset protection.

Ribbits New Rug
I really do love this book and my childern loved it, it was one of their favorite books a naptime. It has brite colors, has a good moral ending and is very well illustrated. It was used so much the binding is coming off.
I am looking to buy 3 more books so that i can give them to my grandchildern.
This is GREAT book.

Rabbit's New Rug
This book is a good book for young readers. It is an easy reader with a good amount of text. This book will show children that material objects aren't as fun and loving as a good friend who cares about you. This book will change the way you think about how important your friends and family are.

This book is about a rabbit who got a new rug. His rug was the most beutiful rug that he had seen before. So rabbit decided to call up all of his friends to come over to see his new rug. But when they got there he wouldn't let anyone step on it so they had to stand against the wall. Everyone got tired of standing so they all left. So then for days rabbit would just stay at home and clean his rug. Soon rabbit realized that a rug isn't a friend and found out that he wasn't having any fun at all. So he decided to have a party with all of his friends.

Thorough, up to date (2000) and well written
This book was recommended as a textbook for a 4th year course in real estate development and it reads like one. It is well organized and covers this broad subject with detailed, practical information in a systematic way.

Most of all I enjoyed the two real life case study storys (of the development of an office building and a high-rise apartment) that weave through the chapters. These were very candidly told by the developers themselves and give the real picture of the trials and tribulations of large project real estate development.

Numerous listings of information sources, web sites, and bibliographies at the end of each section makes this book a 'keeper' reference text.

Market, marketability and feasibility studies
This book so clearly articulates the pivotal role of the triad of market, marketability and feasibility studies in the field of real estate development. While the book does not attempt to be all encompassing, the text is dense with financial and other risk analysis distilled from the experience of the authors and contributors.

Although at times it felt like the shudder of taking an ice cold shower, I finished the book feeling refreshed and invigorated to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the risk-reward tradeoff in the development business.

Another version...
... for a 1st book on the subject, I would recommend this version. The author includes chapters on: "planets & character traits", "Rectification using Symbols", & info on using them for daily guidance (by using the Symbol for the sunrise degree). They can be used w/ Horary charts as well. If you've no book on the Sabian Symbols, definitely try this one.

Astrology and Oracle in one book!
Astrology is an area of spirituality that has been distorted by popular use. However, this book opens new possibilities for astrology both as a traditional predictive tool, and as a means of personality integration. The book has 1000 horoscope examples of real people, and some well-considered theory mundane and Horary Astrology, of which the last of these is original. Most importantly, this book presents the Sabian Symbols. To my knowledge this was the first publication of the symbols, yet many books have published them since.

What are the Sabian Symbols? Well, each of the 360 degrees of the zodiac is assigned a "symbol", such as for example "Taurus 22 - White dove over troubled waters". Then, this symbol is given a positive and a negative slant in a paragraph of text, as well as a keyword, in this case Taurus 22 degrees is "Guidance". The symbols add value to any horoscope, but there's more!

The symbols in this book are excellent and practical as a kind of modern day "I Ching". That is, you can ask a question (of your higher self), then select a symbol using a random selection to find out your answer. A good way to do this is for example, to have two stacks of normal playing cards. For the stack to select the zodiac sign use:- Aries - King of Hearts; Taurus - Queen of Hearts; Gemini - Jack of Hearts; Cancer - King of Diamonds; Leo - Queen of Diamonds; Virgo - Jack of Diamonds; Libra - King of Spades; Scorpio - Queen of Spades; Sagittarius - Jack of Spades; Capricorn - King of Clubs; Aquarius - Queen of Clubs; Pisces - Jack of Clubs.

Then, for the selection of the degree of that sign, use: hearts 1-10 for 1 to 10 degrees, diamonds 1-10 for 11 to 20 degrees, hearts 1-10 for 21 to 30 degrees.

So, for example, Taurus 22 degrees using this system would be denoted by "Queen of hearts" = Taurus, "2 of clubs" = 22 degrees.

I have used this book "off and on" over the past ten years together with the similar book by Dane Rudhyar. The latter I found had similar and complementary text descriptions for the symbols. In my opinion, the symbols have even more far-reaching possibilities. They can be used as a device to learn "clair-seeing" where the world we walk in can be interpreted prophetically by reading into the symbolisms noticed. This is a fascinating prospect but I've not seen any book working that way from the Sabian Symbols. The author Marc Edmund Jones spent 30 years on this one; a worthwhile endeavour as you can see from what I've said here.
