We have read a lot of biographies, but this one was different. I don't really know why. My son, 6, was captivated by this book. He now devours EVERYTHING he hears about Martin Luther King, Jr. My son learned about a man like himself in many ways who experienced difficulties and fought unfair laws just because of his color. He also learned about a man named Gandhi and the influence he had on Dr. King. I was so impressed by the impression that this book made on my son. And he recognized scenes from the book when we watched the movie "KING." Rarely does any book have this much impact on a young child. It definitely deserves 5 stars.

This is the perfect biography for kids around 8-12 years old to read. It has lots of information and is a little more advanced than a Martin Luther King biography you would find in a first grade classroom would be.This would also be a great book to read if a child has to do a report.

As a born and bred New Yorker who now lives far away...my heart still belongs to my birthplace. Larry King and Tom Cook have truly written a valentine to the city I love so much. Wow! Larry King, Tom Cook and New York...three great ingredients...mix them togther and you get a fantastic read! I loved this book! After all the sturm und drang of these past few years, finally something I could laugh out loud at! It's not just light-hearted...it's really smart and timely too. And it's certainly not just for New Yorkers!

When I purchased the Newberry Bible I was so impressed with it that I stopped using the New American Standard (1977) and switched to the King James Version. This Bible, when used in conjunction with the Companion Bible by Bullinger, the Cambridge Reference Bible, and the New Analytical Bible (Dickson) truly provide a wealth of information.

I believe that a true study Bible should provide you with information and not tell you what to believe. These three Bibles do this and have become the starting place for all my studies. I recommend the Newberry Reference interleaved edition because the alternating blank pages provide plenty of space for taking notes. The paper is thin, so don't write too hard!

Thomas Newberry's efforts are amazing, but I just wish he had done every word in the Bible, not just the selected ones.

If you really want to learn about what God has said, BUY THIS BOOK!

This is the reference bible for scholars and people interested in the real truth. As we all know the King James Version of the bible was translated from either Greek/Hebrew or chaldee. While the scholars of the day were very intelligent and able. They were prone to error as any man or woman might be. The Newberry is an attempt (a very good one) to allow you to observe the true literal retranslations of the actual texts based on translations from a concordance. They are embedded within the writing of the Newberry right where the word would be found. It makes no attempt to try to persuade you to any type of belief system. Rather it displays the actual re-translation of text right on the page. Beware however...if you are looking to prove false doctrine you may find yourselves at odds with this book. It may even change the way you perceive your faith. You will find that it is a wonderful study tool as well as an indespensible tool for putting your teachings together. If you strive to find the real truth you will need this book.

i love the precious moments bible. it is so cute. it has wonderfully illistrated pictures that go along with the bible's teachings. the age level says 4-8, but i am 13, and i still use this bible, it is a lot easier to understand! i would suggest it to any child!

I have had many bibles through the years but none have compared to this one! This bible is easy to read, easy to understand, and a pure joy to read. The comentary on the verses is beautifully blended with the art work of Precious Moments, and the full color pages of Precious moments art with scriptures is absolutely beautiful, and inspirational. i recommend it for anyone!

Princess in the Pigpen is the best, I want to give it 5 stars. Elizabeth was really sick and Sukie first gave her a bath and dried her off and then put her in bed.
When she lay down in the bed, this light struck her in the face when Sukie opened the curtains. When she rolled over away from the light, she was in a different place. This man was standing by her.
He asked her "What are you doing here, miss?" in amazement. She started calling for her dog and Sukie but they didn't come. She tried so many times but they still didn't come. Than this woman came in and put her hand on her forehead. The lady said that she (Elizabeth) was ill so they took her to the doctor and she took a look at her. She took off Elizabeth's dress and gave her some medicine to make her feel better.
After they took her to the doctors, they took her to get their daughter. They hate each other at first, but after a little bit later, they become friends. They have a lot of fun together.
The girl goes into the barn to get Elizabeth back home to get some medicine for her mother. They do a lot to get back home. I know I left out a lot but I'm running out of time. Trust me, you'll love this book!!!!!!

this book details the story of a young princess from the 1600's who is transported into the future to the year 1988. the charming fairy tale of sorts follows her story as she befriends the family whose pigpen she has appeared in, manages to find her way back home, and saves her dying mother in the process. well written to be pleasurable reading, its the perfect choice for that special little girl in your life.

This is an excellent read with detail about the rapture and endtime happenings. This book adds over 300 pages from John Haggee. There are several time lines to help in determining upcoming events.

Of all the newer editions of the Bible in the last 50 years, this ensightful and thought-provoking edition by John Hagee proves to be an extremely easy-to-use and user-friendly volume and a very welcome addition to my Library of Bibles.

Even though the book was written in Europe (it refers to some materials, which are hard to find in the U.S.), its quite useful and well written. I consider myself an experienced scratch builder, but I found a lot of useful information, building techniques, and construction ideas in this book. Highly recommend to everybody using foam in the airplane construction.

I purchased this Bible about one year ago. I keep it in my purse or in my car at all times. It is compact yet is complete. I love it because when I need a scripture it is literally at my fingertips. It is well read!

the languange of this version is so simple and understandable that even those who are not familiar with biblical concepts will find it very gratifying

Anyone interested in learning about contemplation, either Christian or Buddhist, will find much to think about in this book.

I am excited each time I open the pages of this Woman's Study Bible. I own over 25 bibles and this is one of the best I have used.

The study group I am in will be looking at the lives of most of the women in Scripture to see how to apply or avoid the things we learn from their lives. This bible has profiles on many of the women, deals with subject matters that help you to apply biblical principles, and shows you the role women played in the life of Jesus. Their commentary on the text is very insightful and gives clarification according to the context of the verses.

It is hard to find fault with this study bible. It comes in softcover, hardcover and leather (at reasonable prices). The print is good, nice margins, NKJV text, cross references, concordance and an index of the charts, notes and profiles. There is also historical information. such as, Women and Archaeology, at the beginning of the bible.

I am familiar with several of the contributors and have heard them speak or have read their works. These ladies are of sound reputation in their doctrine and their dedication to the Word of God.

I thank God for this resource and hope every woman who is serious about studying the Word gets a copy for their library. I highly recommend The Woman's Study Bible.

This bible is a wonderful resource for any woman who wants a little extra information to go along with the Scripture readings. The print is large and easy to read, and the extra notes are clearly separated from the actual Scripture text. The notes are informative and thoughtfully written, and are specifically geared to issues and concerns of today's woman. I would recommend this Bible to any woman actively involved in a bible study class or any woman wishing a more in depth look at the Scriptures.
