No Way Winky Blue
This book is an interresting true story that many children can relate to in terms of dreams for the future. My daughter and I enjoy Pamela Jane's writing and the illustrations go well with the text.

A really funny book
I like this book because it is funny. I also like "Right On, Winky Blue!." Winky goes to New York City because he was chosen to be a guest on a radio show. This is a funny book too.

Fabulous
I have loved using this handy resource with my children. In the past week, I have used it for contentment and anger. We went over the definition she gives and I had my children learn one of the verses. It gives us all a point of reference - we know what we SHOULD be doing!! It is great!!!

Wonderful resource for parents
This is a great book for parents who want to teach their children to apply God's instructions in their lives. I can't think of Bible verses for various things my children do so I appreciate having something in a condensed form for reference. Kara uses topics we all face as parents: anger, giving, cursing, kindness, etc and gives several verses that talk about that particular behavior. She then gives ideas for discussion and activities (for both parent and child) to instill God's words in their lives. This is appropriate for all ages from toddler - teenager. I've used this book a couple of times and it's already saved a few battles with my 8 year old. I even learned a thing or two to incorporate in my life! This would make a great gift for new or expectant parents.

The agony of memorizing multiplication tables!
Remember grade school when your teacher made you memorize the multiplication tables? Remember how hard it was to keep them straight long enough to pass off each set? Remember how much you wanted to earn the ice cream reward once you learned them all? Remember how everyone learned them faster than you? Wilson Williams knows exactly how you felt. He's stuck in the middle of multiplication and everyone in his class-Heck, even his little brother!--is doing better than he is. Wilson just knows he will be the last to finish. That's not his only worry. Wilson wants a pet, but the closest he will ever get is being able to take home the class hamster, Squiggles. Whether it's been years or days since you learned how to multiply or taught your child to do so, you'll suffer right along with Wilson. Be sure to treat yourself to an ice cream when you finish reading his delightful story.

Bebe's Bad Dream
Bebe's days and nights are haunted by some not too menacing green aliens. In a clever twist, Bebe deflects her own alien abduction in a bait and switch maneuver that will delight kids who have to tolerate a sibling. G. Brian Karas captures the way girls think about boys, especially mean older brothers named Walter. A girlfriend says to Bebe, "Let's pretend all boys are diseases and we have to find a cure." Karas' whimsical colored pencil illustrations could charm the nightmares right out of a child's mind. Or was I just dreaming?

Enjoy this delightful story!
This simple little story is tailored for beginning readers, but the reassuring and loving attitude of Ms Darcy warms the hearts of my husband and mine. We've all been there. Remember ourselves being kids? Like Bunny, we had the strongest sense of self - we loved being the center of attention; we hated to be laughed at our foolishness; we were reluctant or actually afraid to ask questions from our stern teachers although we were trained to follow instructions. The only difference, maybe, instead of being hugged and comforted, we would be punished for the mess we made up.

I wish our kids would all meet a kind-hearted teacher like Ms Darcy, other than a pure disciplinarian, to make them feel secure in this changeable world.

The touching story of a deaf puppy who finds a loving home.
The story of Ceasar is based on a true story. It is an endearing story of a deaf puppy who is given a second chance to become someone's beloved pet, rather than being "put to sleep" as an unadoptable stray. It is shows the triumph of determination, on the part of his human companion, to train Cesear despite his handicap. The companiaon tape recording enhances the reading experience.

This is a thorough easy to follow manual that takes the guess work and the pain out of certification for adult leaders as well as youth leaders. It is a must-have for all those working with girls camp.

Changing the World: One Relationship at a Time: Focused Listening for Mutual Support & Empowerment (Personal Power)

Want to change your life? Read this book!
Want to change your life? Get together with a trusted friend and spend an allotted amount of time each week focusing on truly listening to one another. Sheryl Karas recommends focused listening as an ideal way to change yourself, your relationships, and your world for the better. Karas, who has a Masters Degree in Transpersonal Psychology, is a practitioner of re-evaluation counseling. Her second book, Changing The World One Relationship At A Time: Focused Listening For Mutual Support & Empowerment, is based on over fifteen years of experience in helping people improve their lives. Karas teaches people "how to create partnerships and alliances that have the power to change the world. Starting with a few simple techniques, you and a friend can learn to empower and support each other to take charge of your lives and go after your dreams." Once you learn the basic skills, you can then communicate better with a wider group of people, until eventually you've helped make the world a happier place in which to live. She explains that her teachings focus on society, rather than on the individual, asserting that "people in the United States are starved for community and often must struggle to create and maintain adequate personal relationships." Not recognizing the importance of relationships leads to a life that is out-of-balance. Rebalancing starts with listening. Nearly all the exercises in Karas's book require a "listening partner." The key to success is learning how to truly listen to each other. Feeling free to say exactly what they're feeling to someone who is concentrating on listening in a supportive and loving manner is a new experience for many people. That experience often heals old hurts and releases pain, enabling most people to form healthy and loving relationships with others. Karas says that "anything is possible when the appropriate human connections are made." Changing The World One Relationship At A Time teaches readers the needed skills for connecting with others, starting on a personal level and advancing to the community and the world beyond.
