A Testament of Love
I highly recommend this book to all bereaved parents that have lost a baby. It warmed my soul and offered me comfort shortly after my loss. I've had this beautiful book for nearly 4 years now, and I still read it. "Mrs. Duck and The Woman" has helped give me hope for better days ahead and offered me insight into my own feelings of grief. This short but very touching and sweet story let me see that my little angel continues to live on within my heart.

Excellent book for the newly bereaved
A beautifully written story about a mother coming to terms with the loss of her son, Dakota. She befriends a duck who has shared a similar loss and it offers a new perspective on what has occurred. Wonderful imagery, wonderful story. An excellent book for the newly bereaved.

Excellent
Kara has an extraordinary way of explaining grief and its processes. This book touches your heart and makes you understand.

My activity of a translator was hardly sped up. And I have counted, that a purchase of this CD Polyglossum save to me about 800 dollars on a purchase of the paper dictionaries.
Thank!

Welcome news ¿ free update!!! And MORE 2.000.000 search word
I have purchased this CD with Polyglossum-dictionaries two years back. Also is completely pleased with activity of the Polyglossum-2 dictionary.
Unexpectedly I have received from ETS Publishing House mail, in which one was writen that I can free download new version of the program - Polyglossum-3. I have downloaded from page of ETS Publishing House free update to version Polyglossum-3. This is really essential updating. A new principle of search of the words and simultaneous search under all dictionaries. Search both on headers of entries, and under all words in all dictionaries etc. At the expense of it quantity of the search words was increased approximately at 30 - 40 %. The program very correctly works with Windows XP. A thank for good user support. A thank to the Amazon.com employees for so useful contacts.

Powerful
Mr. Kara has written a riveting, realistic portrayal of a part of our history that is embarassing and shameful. I did not expect to like this book, and yet could not put it down once I began. His writing style is lyrical and soothing, and I hope he writes another book soon!

This is a tale of greed and power, selfishness and ignorance. But is is also about hope, kindness, love and yes - the triumph of the human spirit!

A powerful story
A very powerful story. Well written, a very descriptive portrayal of man's inhumanity to man and the inherent instinct to survive. Part of our history that must never be forgotten. Stories and portrayals such as this will insure the preservation of a proud and noble race. Submitted for Josh Shea, St. John's,Nf, Canada

Life's Only Promise
I found myself not wanting to put this book down. Mr. Kara's descriptions of the atrocities born by the inhabitants of the Mississippi penal farm are both graphic and poignant. To me he is in the tradition of John Steinbeck, a painter with words.

Love it!
We found this book in our dentist's office and it kept my kids occupied with no thought of their about-to-happen visit. What a stroke of brilliance to have this in the waiting room. When we left, I saw an older man reading it and he had a big smile on his face. My dentist said she's been giving a copy to graduating dental students ... of course. My cousin's graduating from dental school next spring, so I'm glad to have THAT gift problem solved. Besides, it's fun to read. Who would have thought that tooth-losing traditions would be different all over the world? My kids started asking what else is the same but different with kids in other countries--good question.

I loved it.
I am a second year dental hygiene student and have recently been reading many tooth fairy tales. I loved the way the author showed the similarities as well as the differences of the world tooth traditions. I brought the book into our college clinic; those that had the chance to read the book loved all the different stories as well. Throw Your Tooth on the Roof: Tooth Traditions from Around the World, by Selby B. Beeler, was a joy to read.

Great Fun for Little Ones
The kids love this book! Concerned about losing their baby teeth, the kids with whom I've read this book are intrigued to learn that they are not the only ones in the world who lose their teeth and do something special with them. A must-read for the tooth-losing age group!

Best book I've ever read..... 20 times!
This is one book that'll never get old. It carries the reader on a whirlwind adventure full of intrigue, magic, danger and... comedy? Try drawing a family tree after reading it, you'll be at it for hours, if not days. Enjoy, and happy reading.

Excellent Original Story
An excellent book that has somehow gone out of print. Very humorous title with lots of action and mystery. If you can find it at the library or a used book store you wont be dissapointed

One of the finest fantastical comedies you can read.
The Curse of Sagamore should have never been allowed to lapsefrom the shelves. Within its pages you will find more than thetypical magic, maidens, and mischief that is part and parcel of good fantasy. You encounter wicked limericks, charades, and a wonderous sense of humor. The author knows she's telling a grand jest and yet she carries the reader along with her until the punchline.

A BEAUTIFUL ALLEGORY
This is truly a lovely allegory. Kara, the central character in this story is a large, powerful falcon. He is a predator by nature, devouring smaller creatures. During one attack, he swoops down on a dove. The dove begs for her life and when Kara looks into her eyes and sees her fear, he relents and releases her. From then on, Kara changes his priorities. He learns to eat berries and vegetables because he can no longer bring himself to kill another living creature. The gentle dove in turn, welcomes Kara into the woodland creatures' community where they bond and welcome even more animals of all species.

Kara is a symbol for St. Paul, the former Saul known for his persecution of Christians. The gentle dove is a symbol of the Angel who appeared to Paul and who helped him rethink his priorities and become a Christian. (The dove, long recognized as the symbol of peace is often referred to in Scripture). The woodland creatures could be the Disciples or as a Christian community of caring. The end of the book reinforces the Christian theme beautifully by describing Kara's ultimate sacrifice -- he eats Manna (communion, perhaps) and takes a swan song (falcon song) flight into the sun. At the end of his life, he is transformed into a myriad of beautiful colors that his woodland friends know as being him. It is one of best books in Christian literature. It is a heart warmer. Please read it. It will really touch your heart.

The Falcon-KARA- transforms, consciously in this short story
I found this book yesterday in my search for a 'spiritual' book for my 13 year old female cousin. I started to read it to see if it was appropriate for her and ended up reading the whole story in less than two hours. It is beautiful- my thoughts are with it today. An adult wanting a short story...get it, also it could be read outloud to a small child, it is basically an animal story. Any reader of any age would enjoy its inspiring simplicity. Hint: The powerful Falcon becomes conscious of its predatory nature and chooses not to kill. Humanity's same struggles of right and wrong begin to stir in a Falcon's thoughts.

Wonderful!
My 7 month old loves this book. His face lights up when he hears the rain "plinka, plinka" and the wind "Wooya, Wooya". He also loves the pictures. I know this will always be one of his favorites.

A Fun Read
Both my three year old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's rhyming verse is fun to read and the pictures are captivating. The actual story of how the carefree monkeys avoid making their night-time nests is light-hearted and amusing. My daughter and I borrowed this entertaining book from our local library. We liked it so well that I intend to buy it for her collection of favorites.

My boys love this book!
Never mind the review that says this for age 3+. My 14 month old won't go to bed until we've read this at least three times. He's barely talking but he picks up the books and says "Whee!" And his older brother (age 4) chimes in with the "Jibba Jibba Jabba" every time!

A delightful book!
Kara Lennox has given us a wonderful story for her first Harlequin American--a dark, gorgeous hero sweeps a down-to-earth heroine right off her feet--and into his bed. Or was that onto a rooftop?

This book is a bit sexier than most Harlequin Americans. I loved the interaction between the hero and heroine, who just couldn't seem to keep their hands off each other. I'm looking forward to Kara's next book!

Hot
Harlequin American has never been so sexy. New voice Kara Lennox has created a sexy romp. Vic Steadman (just a little symbolism in the name) may be steady, but he can be a bad boy as well--just the man beautiful virgin Angela Capria is looking for. Believe me, she's no angel--although Vic may think she is.

It's a fun romance with just enough friends and family to make it real, but with the real fireworks reserved for the main characters.

Hot book--great writing
Angela Capria wants a steady, boring man--but her friends know better. They hook her up with a dark dangerous, sexy type. Vic Steadman can play dangerous and he's definitely sexy. But when Angela finds out he is a regular guy, is he out of there?

Kara Lennox is an exciting fresh voice for Harlequin American. This is the hottest American I've read in years, but it still preserves the family and friends that make American distinct. I'm looking forward to more Kara Lennox titles.

Babies and books -- Very highly recommended
Rand Barclay believes himself to be headed for a doomed life as a cantankerous bachelor until he develops case for his carpenter. He didn't expect a lady carpenter, and he certainly didn't want a pregnant one. Not that he has anything against pregnancy. He's well rehearsed having practically raised several younger sisters and their offspring, but a pregnant woman shouldn't be doing all that physical labor. But then, physical labor while he's working in the same office is good when she has such a shapely behind. Too bad pregnancy usually means there's a man in the picture. When Susan goes into labor in his office, however, she confesses her single hood.

Susan arrives at Rand's prepared to work. She needs this job. The death of her father the year before through her world into a tailspin, and meeting Gary at the hospital provided even more long-term grief. When Gary disappeared leaving only a note alluding to a clinging vine and a parasite, Susan used the money he left to pay the bills and grieve. Worse, he left before she could tell him that she's pregnant. Now her money's running out, the baby's due in a few weeks, and she needs to move. If Rand will give her the job, maybe she'll manage the challenges ahead. Then her baby comes early, she has no health insurance, and the apartment she's rented is unlivable. Rand wants to be her knight in shining armor. She wants to be independent. They both want to be a family, but neither has the courage to risk admitting it.

As author Kara Lennox shows in BABY BY THE BOOK, babies write their own terms when they enter this world. While I was much younger than our thirty-old heroine when I had my first child, I still could swear Lennox stole a page from my diary. Alone, afraid, and overwhelmed with love with this small, perfect life, Susan's a believable mother with an imperfect past. Susan proves that the first diaper and the first bottle can be quite intimidating if you've never handled either until having your own child. Rand's an imperfect hero, as well. Sexy, well-meaning without a clue about women expect how to happily live around them, Rand lacks the easy social graces that characterize most heroes. Still, he's wonderful. Indeed, this is a heart warming romance that deserves to go on the keeper shelf. Very highly recommended.

Wonderful and heart-warming
It's easy to see why Kara Lennox has quickly become one of the hottest authors in the Harlequin American stable. BABY BY THE BOOK can't help making you smile and feel good.

Abandoned by her boyfriend, pregnant Susan Kilgore needs to get back on her feet and rebuild her carpentry business. She's not going to let a little thing like an almost due baby stop her from taking the job Dr. Rand Barclay offers her remodeling his office--even if Rand does have a way of getting her all excited.

Rand needs to finish his book and he's way late. What he doesn't need is the distraction of a pregnant woman. Yet his protective instincts don't let him just walk away from a woman in trouble. Yet, can Susan ever really be his, or is her heart still owned by the ex-boyfriend who walked away--before he even knew he'd be a father.

Author Lennox has definitely turned up the emotional intensity with this one. It's sexy, funny, and definitely a heartwarming feel-good read.

I loved it.

The Seals on the Bus

Average review score:

The perfect first book
I started reading to my son Owen when he was just a few months old, and this charming book was one of the first ones he reacted to. Now at 19 months, it's still his favorite. Colorful pictures, repetitive text, and the opportunity to use puppet-style hand gestures while you read make this a great interactive story for very young children. This book has earned its place, at least on our bookshelf, alongside classics like Bill Martin/Eric Carle's "Brown Bear, Brown Bear..."

Great Prek book
This book is a throw off of the popular wheel on the bus song for young children. the words have been changed in that instead of a lot of humans you have various circus and land animals acting in crazy outlandish funny ways . Great gift idea!!!

Old favorite with new fun
This book brings new fun to the kid-pleasing song, The Wheels on the Bus. In this version various animals board the bus with increasing chaotic results. Until, in the end, the people on the bus are crying, "help, help, help." The pictures are delightful. This is a great book to share - especially with children who already know and love the original song.
