COMPLETE BOOK ON HIGH TECH HYDROPONIC & GREENHOUSE GARDENING
The Best of Growing EDGE is a collection of the best articles, by twenty four different authors, from the first five years of Growing EDGE magazine. It covers hydroponics, greenhouses, nutrients, lighting, and other new and innovative techniques to use in high tech gardening and horticulture. Since the articles are from the first five years of Growing EDGE magazine, each chapter is a comprehensive compendium of cutting edge horticulture without going over the edge! New and innovative seems to be the keyword here. The mainstream gardening magazines and books cover the tried and true techniques of gardening; The Best of Growing EDGE covers the new and innovative. The information can be used by both hobby home gardeners and large commercial growers. The techinques are the same, it is just the scale of the operation that is different. Gardening is possible year round with the information contained in this book

A Book Not to Miss
If the cover of this book caught your eye, wait until you look inside. The story and pictures are a perfect match. A great book for children and dog lovers too. One to read if there is a new baby in the house. This is a story that chidren can relate to.

Chelsea and the New Puppy
When I look for a good children's book, I look for clear writing, colorful pictures, and an uncomplicated storyline with a happy ending. The fact that I own Field Spaniels (one of the two breeds in this book)is beside the point. This is a sweet book that may even help a child deal with his or her own sibling rivalry.

The Complete Handbook to Striped Bass Fishing - Nick Karas
For those fishermen who think you know everything you need to know to catch the lunker we all dream about, you're wrong.

This book delivers useful, real, and interesting information for the beginner to the so called expert.

Karas makes you think about your technique and offers suggestions to improve your fishing and to make it more enjoyable.

If you are serious about your Stripers, buy this book. You will not be disappointed.

1,2,3, Fish!
Very seldom will you find "how to" books with this much REAL information. The kind of info that even casual fishermen will find not only do-able but successful. I highly recommend it for the beginner and experienced Striper-getter. MC

The Doll House
I found the book to be wonderful as it mirrors the delicate sense of imagination that children can bring to doll houses. I plan to use it in my classroom as an example of excellent descriptive writing and mood. The illustrations are also exquisite. Any lover of dollhouses will adore this book!

It was much better than I was expecting!
You would think this book was just about a doll house, but it was about little people who moved into a doll house, and became friends with the little girl who owned it. I wish I had someone move into a doll house in my room! Blaire - age 8

Giving Voice to Bereaved Parents
"Flash of Life," by Kara L.C. Jones, is a beautiful tribute to her stillborn son, Dakota, as well as a great resource for finding online and offline bereavement support. It's a wonderful book of poems that tell Dakota's story before, during, and after Kara's pregnancy. As I read the poems, I felt like Kara was speaking directly to me about her hopes, dreams, and love for Dakota. I was able to relate in many ways to the author's loss and heartache. Kara's poetry throughout her book is easy to follow and understand. I could truly feel the variety of emotions put forth in her writings. I recommend this poetic narrative to anyone that has suffered the loss of a baby. This is a second edition of "Flash of Life" which also includes the full, original narrative, a 2002 Foreword, and an updated resource guide for finding support. "Flash of Life" also offers information about the ongoing dedicated bereavement work KotaPress does to help others.

A journey of mother and son
A wonderful collection of poems!! From the start of a life at the beginning of pregnancy to the end of a life, for Kara's stillborn son, Dakota. Then the continuation of life and the motherhood of Kara Jones. Through these poems we follow a mother and son's journey through life, death and beyond. Beautiful imagery is portrayed to convey the feelings of the greatest love and the greatest loss.

Wonderful and satisfying read
While celebrating her share of the Millionaire, Montana lottery win, normally conservative Gwen Tanner goes wild and ends up in bed with handsome Eli Garrett. She never got his address and is happy enough that she's pregnant with twins as a result of that one night, but when Eli walks back into her life seven months later, he sets off all of her buttons--and all of Gwen's alarms. The town of Millionaire, Montana has been overrun with fortune hunters since their lucky lottery win. Is it possible that Eli is another fortune hunter? The evidence mounts suspiciously against him, whatever his words about wanting to move in and become a part of Gwen's life and the life of their children.

Harlequin American favorite author Kara Lennox delivers a charming and romantic story of broken trust and hope. Gwen is a fully developed character with issues. Her problems with Eli flow naturally from her character and add depth to the story. Eli is a wonderfully male guy, capable of causing heart-throb but of sensitive feelings as well. Familiar characters run through the MILLIONAIRE, MONTANA series and Lennox makes them her own, getting humerous relief from the host of small-town favorites. She also resolves the mystery that has run through the series, discovering the perpetrators behind the pavillion fire.

FORTUNE'S TWINS is pure enjoyment--and a classic example of the best of Harlequin American.

A perfect bedtime book for toddlers!
From the first lines, "NO! I won't and you can't make me!" to the surprise gentle ending, "Mama, I love you." this book is a treat to both parents and toddlers. The illustrations are a total delight and the rollicking, rhyming words simply roll off the reader's tongue. Little ones never tire of hearing these fun phrases over and over and the adults reading them enjoy them just as much. A perfect bedtime book...or anytime book, and one that both you and your toddler will enjoy for years. This is a classic for sure!

Super book for my own Sydney that is the Good Knight Queen!
Loved this book! Our daughter could not get enough of it!!! Probably because she can relate so well to the little guy. I had fun acting this out in a graduate class on childrens' literature. Kudos to the author!!!!!!!

EXCELLENT RECOMMENDED READING
This wonderful book of elementary school life poems was a recommended summer reading for my 5th grader. I thank the one who recommended it. She loves it. I recommend it for all ages...I love it too and I'm a few decades past the 5th grade. Get this one for your child and he/she will thank you with their pleasure of the book and their reading to you.

If You're Not Here, Please Raise Your Hand
This book, so acurately subtitled "Poems About School," is a hit with students and teachers alike. Ms Dakos takes everyday elementary school situations and problems, and -- through her poetry-- manages to pinpoint the goings on in every classroom in America using humor and sensitivity. The student with the messiest desk, the boy who cries at the drop of a hat, the new kid who hates math, the child who comes to class with more alibis than homework assignments, the children who just can't follow the rules, are all members of the class in Ms Dakos' first book, "If You're Not Here, Please Raise Your Hand-- Poems About School." This is truly a "class" anthology!

Kara's Quest Touched My Heart!
Kara's Quest is such a great book! I was eager to read more about the challenges Kara was faced with. This book applies to my life as well as many other's. The book reached out, grabbed my heart and melted it as I read more and more. I enjoyed every minute of reading Kara's Quest.

This book is an inspiration and deals with real life stuff.
Kara's Quest is so inspirational! I was loaned this book, because I hadn't been able to find a devotional book that really inspired me. This one touched me deeply with every story. It's written more as a story, and it is full of support and guidance. God's love is fully experienced with every word. It is great for people my age (college) or even highschool, jhighschool or older than this. Anyone can learn from it. The problems are like one's we really have in today's world. I have gained spiritual growth, as well as confidence in general, from reading it.

Individual chapters address multidimensional issues
Collaboratively written by Mike Ashby (Professor, Engineering Department, Cambridge University) and design materials expert Kara Johnson, Materials And Design: The Art And Science Of Material Selection In Product Design is a thoroughly "user friendly" instructional guide to the scientific and systematic crafting of products from a variety of materials. Individual chapters address multidimensional issues, shaping joints and surfaces, rules of thumb for selecting certain materials over others, and much more in express, college-level detail. Enhanced throughout with full color photography and numerous illustrations, Materials And Design is strongly recommended as an extensive, superbly organized and presented, instructional resource and professional level reference.

A good introduction to design, materials, and processes
I teach product design at Ohio State to students from several engineering disciplines, and this latest book from Prof. Mike Ashby is exactly what I've been looking for. It gives an overview of product design from the perspective of the industrial designer, something engineering students need to appreciate. More importantly, it also provides a wealth of useful data on a wide range of materials and fabrication processes. In addition, each chapter has a thorough annotated reference list - valuable to anyone just entering the field. All this, and it's a beautiful example of book design, in the bargain. Regrettably, it suffers a bit from a lack of proofreading, as many books seem to these days.
