Kinda confusing!
Psyduck is a Pokemon with a constant headache, and if you try to say these tongue twisters, chances are you'll get a headache too! The tongue twisters can be very difficult and confusing. My favorite one is this: Newlywed Ninetales nuzzle whiskers. This book wasn't made to teach your child lessons or something important like that; this book was made solely for the purpose of fun.

Samuel J. Tilden and the Stolen Election,
Published in Hardcover by David McKay Co (1968)
Author: William. Severn
Amazon base price: $4.95
Average review score:

Excellent and highly recommended
This book has inspired me as a producer/writer to tell the story about Samuel Jones Tilden in either a documentary film, feature or WEB site...Any of the above would thrill the viewer or reader. The author, Bill Severn captured the reality of what really happened to America and Tilden during the 1876 Presidential election. The author through his story clearly describes what happens when one party, Republican or Democrat lost sight of the peoples Presidential choice and how politics, power and greed rose above the peoples will. The book should have won a Pulitizer for it's content. It reflects what is happening today with the Clinton scandal and what has happened in the past with other Presidents who found themselves fighting the opposition party. The story of Samuel Jones Tilden, authored by Bill Severn, fasinated me so much, I have dedicated countless hours of time, money and energy researching Tilden and the American political system. It has been amazing to me how acurate Severn was and how much more should have been uncovered about the dishonest election which put Rutherford B. Hayes into the White House. Severn's book should be back in print and available to the American public, or anyone else (foriegn) who would like to read it. I salute this author for the time I know he spent researching Samuel Jones Tilden who bequeath most of his estate to build the New York Public Library. Mr. Tilden's famous quote, (which is on his gravestone) "I still trust in the people". A real American hero!

Shakespeare at Work
Published in Hardcover by Oxford Univ Pr (1996)

Exquisite dissection of text
John Jones has previously written on Keats (and Embarrassment) on Wordsworth (The Egotistical Sublime) and on Dostoyevsky (Dostoyevsky). He is probably one of the two or three best critics writing in English at present. At one stage of his career he worked in naval intelligence, at another in the law: traces of both disciplines lurk in his approach. He specialises in a kind of poetic-cum-forensic close-reading of text which stays with you long after you have closed the book. All of his books fall into the category of: "If you only read one book on X, read this."

Shakespeare is big game for Jones, the biggest. Most critics give up when they get to Shakespeare. Borges famously suggested Shakespeare in some crucial sense lacked identity. "I am not what I am," as he makes Iago say. It was the Argentinian's explanation for the mystery of how one person could create so many characters. As they used to say about Clapton, Shakespeare was God.

Jones doesn't cop out so easily. He tracks Shakespeare by his spoor, so to speak. The highlight of the book is the chapter where he looks at "Hand D" - a crowd scene in the fragmentary manuscript play "The Boke of Thomas More", echoes the convincing argument that it is by Shakespeare and persuades the reader that it is in many senses deeply revelatory of who Shakespeare was, or at least, how he worked (hence the title). The passage about "watery parsnips" is a gem. It's the most useful work about Shakespeare to be published in many years.

The price is prohibitive, I know, but get your library to order it!

Word-music
This is a wonderful collection of poetry readings by some of the best actors in the world. If you allow yourself only one tape of poetry, I would recommend this one. The rendition of Lawrence's "The Snake" is spellbining, and the reading of Macneil's "A Death in the Family" is quietlly gut-wrenching. And you will be surprised how well Bill Shatner recites about whales. Buy this tape, and you will listen to it again and again.

Good, yet very twisted.... o.O
I don't have much to say, so unlike my other reviews, this will be relatively short, but.... this is a good, yet very twisted book.

Snorlax has one of the biggest appeties in all of Pokémon-dom, so how does he satisfy such a hunger? Well, when you're surrounded by Oddish (looks like a raddish) and Tangela (oodles o' noodles), I guess you'll have to make do....

Cannibalism amoung Pokémon.... weird...

How's Snorlax to get himself out of this predicament? I guess you'll have to find out yourself, because I'm sure as not going to tell you! So :P

A deeply spiritual and inspiring autobiographical treatise
Teaching The Dead Bird To Sing: Living The Hermit Life Without And Within is the memoir of theologian and former social activist W. Paul Jones, who describes the phases of his life and meditations as he progressed toward an internal and external retreat from the evils of the world and the self. Teaching The Dead Birth To Sing is highly recommended reading as a deeply spiritual and inspiring autobiographical treatise about embracing a solitary life for greater understanding and clarity.

A superb treatise for the theoretical physicist.
This book is indeed the 2nd volume of Theoretical Solid State Physics: Perfect Lattices in Equilibrium. As the subtitle specifies, this 2nd vol. refers to non-equilibrium and disordered systems. It is very complete. About the first 100 pages are dedicated to transport theory, Boltzmann equations and relations to density-matrix approach. Other long chapters are about optical properties and superconductivity; about 50 pages are dedicated to excitations; about 200 pages to the defects of solids. I particularly like this book because the authors make often use of self-consistent methods, like Thomas-Fermi one. The unique pity is that the system of units used in each section is not always clear. No mentions also of the most recent nanostructure objects and atomic-force microscopy. I nonetheless highly recommend it, especially to persons who yet have a knowledge of quantum mechanics. For a good and simpler introduction to solid state physics Kittel's book is probably better; about transport theory I'd recommend also the book by Ashcroft and Mermin. These three, I think, are a really must have.

One of the great literary wonders? No...but...
...one of the lord's finest men! It doesn't get any better than Stanhope...I mean...I MEAn...how could it get any better than Stanhope?! The man's name has become synonymous with ecstastic exaltation...I mean he symbolizes all I hold dear and virtuous in this sometimes dirty world...trust me, there's nothing better...nothing even compares...this is in its own category, its own stratosphere...orders of magnitude clearer, less perverse, and more shiny than any other...you gotta do it...do it!...please, i beg you, get it done. O'Ransky, progeny of the Bull Even if you don't, make sure someone else does...someone you love...or someone with whom Stanhope could share.
