Conte Contes Numero 1 (Pour Enfants de Moins de Trois Ans)
Published in Paperback by French & European Pubns (01 October, 1983)
Amazon base price: $19.95
Average review score:

What Ionesco writing books for children? Perhaps. Perhaps not. I suspect only he knows, but whatever the true intended audience, this book is brilliant! I loved this book! Although touted as stories for children 'under three years of age', these stories are more likely to be enjoyed by adults or anyone with an appreciation for irony. The story is about a young girl whose parents have been out carousing the night before. She tries to engage their attention but they send her away to the maid because their heads hurt. In a bizarre interchange both Josette and the maid glut themselves on the parents' food. Finally the young girl returns to her father who tells her a story about an entire family of people with the same name. His tale within a tale is as bizarre and meaningless as the tale itself. but it all works. The pictures that accompnay the book are rich and beautiful, if somewhat comic like. If you have any appreciation for Ionesco you will love this book, not only for the content but for its conversational value; " Hey did you know Ionesco wrote a children's book?" Buy it and love it!

This is a concise, readable, and comprehensive book about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. The author, Eugene Arnold, is one of the most distinguished researchers, clinicians, and teachers in the field. The book covers all of the essential information regarding diagnosis, assessment, medical therapies (including discredited ones as well as empirically-based ones), and non-medical behavioral treatments. The book is scholarly but readable and well-written. Highly recommended for anyone wanting authoritative but concise understanding of one of today's most important childhood disorders.

A great tale - as usual Rhodes combines the lives, circumstances, and events of people and places HE actually knew and ... you can taste the dust, and smell the sweat of the horse swaying beneath you. Bring a canteen, a good knife, and a pile of hard-tack

The book gives a good insight of all major corporate finance, firm valuation and stock valuation and capital management methodologies and tools. The text is easy to read, provides the right level of quantitative analysis for the audience in order to be interesting and useful. The Excel templates from the book are available for free (even if you don't have the book) at [website] In my opinion the book is a must-have for every executive-level manager, particularly in a public company.

Cosmo Gets an Ear
Published in Hardcover by Alex Graham Bell Assn for Deaf (1995)
Amazon base price: $12.95
Average review score:

This is a sweet story about a little boy getting a hearing aid and all of the issues surrounding that for most children. Cosmo Gets an Ear explains on a child's level what happens when Cosmo must get a hearing aid. How Cosmo's hearing loss was first detected as well as visits to the audiologist are described in a very comical manner. The story is written in a way that the reader or listener can interact by answering multiple-choice questions along the way. Cosmo goes from having no idea what a hearing aid is to talking with his friend about it and finally to realizing the benefit he receives when wearing his hearing aid. Hearing aid care is also shown in the story. Cosmo speaks to his class about his hearing aid and explains his hearing is helping him hear like glasses help people see - ear glasses.

Edelbach and Winston should look to this true professional to create the SET book. He writes with the quality of a true professional, which is why he remains a professor at the wonderful institution of the College Of New Jersey. His writings are genuine and compelling. I never would have thought that cultural anthropology would be such an exciting subject until I picked up this book!

Charles Sumners (with the help of Ann Sumners) wrote with his memory book "Darkness Visible" a book which was overdue for a long time: Who didn't wonder under which dangers and conditions the often single pictures have arisen when looking at the photos in the many publications to the World War II? For me, in the meantime, it has become an important means of work at my researches as a German historian, publicists and documentary movie director, who actively has a good look at this time! Charles Sumners manages important attempts to think with his memories and he activates to further intensive researches! This applies to me particularly with reference to the photo which can be found on the title page of the book - the photo which made Charles on April 4th, 1945 in the village of Oberdorla near the city of Mühlhausen, Germany! With this photo Charles Sumners has been placed in the elite of the combat photographers in the WWII! "Darkenss Visible" is also a very intimate and also gripping report of the insides of his 166th Photo Signal Company, and of friendships which arose in the face of the daily dangers and endangerings and lasted up to the death of the ones involved.
I have read hundreds of American and German books at my researches about the WWII - "Darkness Visible" is part of my "Top Ten" if I carry out a qualitative evaluation! I wish that this book will find a large and broad readership in the USA and in all the world; and I wish as well that a translated edition is published of "Darkness Visible" in Germany soon, too! What Charles Sumners writes makes thoughtful... The book has seemed very late - but still not too late!

In this book one sentence went straight to my heart "God as the guru, awakens himself as the disciple". With one sentence I managed to understand the philosophy of absolute monism. The book is easy to read but suitable only to sincere truth seekers. Copies of this kind of books are not easy to find; don't buy it unless you are seriously interested in spiritual discovery. Let serious people get this book.

If you thought you knew all there was to know about Charles Darwin and his evolutionary hypothesis, but you haven't read this book, then think again. Eiseley's research is impeccable, but his findings strike to the very heart of the Darwin legend, revealing a deeply flawed and basically dishonest seeker after self-aggrandisement. No wonder it's out of print! Despite his findings Eiseley remained a Darwinist and an evolutionist to his dying day. This book is no slice of creationist propoganda, it is a carefully written, highly readable review of the facts. If you have any interest in the history of evolutionism - pro or con - this book should be very near the top of your reading list.

Daumier: L'Ceuvre Grave Du Maitre: The Complete Engravings
Published in Hardcover by Alan Wofsy Fine Arts (1995)
Amazon base price: $175.00
Average review score:

Every engraving Daumier has ever done, what is not to like? It's amazing how much I saw which tied into history, costume design and the beginnings of the political cartoonist. Daumier's style of caricature is my favorite thing about him. These characters are in some ways more real than if they were rendered in the realistic style.
