This is a beautiful book, well-designed and printed, a long awaited ouevre of Tuggeners work. For me, he is a great photographer who has been forgotten for too many years. It is nice to discover a large selection of his work. Buy this important book!

This volume along with it's companion "Emmanuelle" also published by Taschen present the great works by comics/illustration master Guido Crepax. The black and white linework is beautifully reproduced on glossy paper and is sure to satisfy fans of Crepax. These are a very nice improvement over the paperback editions published by NBM.

I found this collection (with essays by Cookie Mueller and Guido Costa) to be absolutely mesmerizing. The photographs are so compelling, you can almost smell the life and exuberance of these people, so aimless and free, and so close to the underbelly of society. Highly recommended. Especially touching and true are Cookie Mueller's short essays, well worth the purchase.

I used this book while taking a course in German for Reading Knowledge. I found it to be an invaluable reference. It is clearly organized. Note that it is not meant to be used by itself; the authors consider it to be "an ideal complement to any course book" and I agree. I found myself referring to it frequently while reading the course book. I like it so much that I plan to get its companion volumes in Italian and French.

Beautiful photo Essays with photos taken from air. It will give you good idea of the diversity in Indonesia. Some historical photos and illustration. Photos I love are those close up with people on earth are smiling and waving their hands to the plane!

The authors understand that the study of political institutions drives political science and apply economic principles to do this methodologically. This book evaluates various political institutions in their barest forms and derives intuitive results for their expected performance using elementary economic modelling techniques. The book logically extends its arguments and provides interesting normative evaluations as well. The authors are pioneers in what they do, but, unfortunately, are not likely to be accepted as mainstream political scientists.

I read this book after having read about 160 pages of the O'Reilly "Learning Python". I found Guido van Rossum's introduction to be very well-written. His examples showed some interesting things that "Learning Python" hadn't, such as the pickle library, and he included a clear but brief treatment of Python exception handling. Possibly not the best for a complete beginner, but if you've seen a little Python before, it does a wonderful job. Be aware that this text is available as part of the standard Python documentation, but having the hard copy is friendlier to the eyes and part of the profit goes back to open source.
