Great book for toddlers. This version is Greek and English.
We've read this book to our toddler for a long time and she really likes it.
This particular version is written in Greek and English, which is not what I wanted.

Author discusses ANNA IN CHAINS
ANNA IN CHAINS was published the week my mother died at the age of 90. The stories in ANNA IN CHAINS are based on my mother's life as it was reported to me during the years of her widowhood, her life in a retirement home, and, finally, the seven years she spent in a nursing home, paralyzed and on a feeding tube. I was able to show her the cover art of the book the day before she died. It displays a picture of an old woman's hands, in chains, playing the piano. My mother was pleased by this representation of her life and its main torment, that she was unable to play the piano in the later years of her life.
Four of the stories were given dramatic readings on Jan 12 in the New Short Fiction Series at Beverly Hills Library; this took place less than two weeks after my mother's death: to hear her voice reproduced by the actors, to see her humor, her sharp and sometimes cynical view of the world, was to reveal to me that more was in the stories than I ever guessed at.

Anna in the Garden - little girls getaway
The illustrations in this book are beautiful. My 5 year old and 3 year old both love this story. It begins in the winter with a packet of seeds and goes full year to next winter, when Anna receives new seeds for the garden. The back of the book describes the flowers in Anna's garden. The story is delightful, watching the flowers through the seasons is a wonderful learning experience for children and promotes gardening among little ones.

Wonderful Tolstoy Translation
Going through the particulars in pertinance to Anna Karenina (the story that is) would be somewhat redundant. That is, anything I could possibly say about such story would be tautology at this point. However, I can praise this Signet Edition of Anna Karenina for its more-than-adaquate hoisting of Tolstoy's masterful work. The language used is kept relatively bare as Tolstoy himself wrote, e.g. the traditional Russian patricarchal titles are simplified and an English system of address is used. This leaves the gipping tale of love, deception, etc. (really, its universality is quite surprising; on many the occasion does an event within my own life coinside with that of the world of Anna Karenina), to come through, free of technicality, in true romantic form.

Great Book for Any Aggie!!
This Cinderella version is WONDERFUL!! It is a delightful tale of a young co-ed, who is working her way through school. The pictures in the story are authentic and accurate, and bring back wonderful memories of times spent on campus! This would be a tremendous addition to any Aggie or future Aggie's library collection.

A Remarkable, Amazing Autobiography
"Anna: Norse roots in homestead soil" is the incredible story of Anna Guttormsen Hought, a Norwegian immegrant. She was 99 years old when she wrote this, and her memory remaind crisp and detailed. The story begins with her bright, sunny childhood in beautiful Norway. From there she became a working girl in Oslo. She immigrated to America as a single woman of 29, and took a pioneer's life, living in a one-room shack on the prairie.
This is a wonderful story of a life lived to its fullest. From sunshine and green grass, parties and marriage, to heartbreak and loss. This book really is a jem.
It is 142 pages, in decently large type, with many black and white pictures. It is an easy, exciting read and I reccomend it to anybody. This book is a MUST for anyone of Norwegian or Scandinavian heritage. Read "Anna: Norse roots in homestead soil", you will enjoy it.
Anna on the Farm

A charming book
Hahn has another winner with this gentle and wise novel of a city girl who finds freedom and friendship during a summer visit to her aunt and uncle's farm. Dramatic tension comes from Anna's encounters with Theodore, an orphan boy who has been taken in by the farm family. Theodore and Anna begin as jealous rivals, but are as close as brother and sister by the book's end. Readers will cheer for Anna as she leaves her stuffy, urban life behind (if only for a while) and becomes a scrappy and happy mud-caked farm girl. I was genuinely sorry to see the book end, and hope Ms. Hahn has more books about Anna in the works.

An artist's view on the 20th century
Anna Sokolow, (1910-2000) through her long creative life and through teaching of new and
independent living
generations of artists, was always busy in art and not in her credits. Anna is an outstanding example of an
artist who uses art as a way to communicate and to inspire. This book illustrates what it means to be total artist and completely committed to Art. It illustrates how art is a
language that enables people from different classes, countries, and cultures to communicate and discover collective
human feelings. The book takes the view that Anna was the right person at the right place at the
right time exposing us to an artistic giant and looking at the events of the twentieth century through her eyes. Many people from many
professions try to deal with past, present, and future, and I feel that
artists like Picasso (painting), and Sokolow (body movement) have a different kind of understanding of
their specific period, with social involvement without pretense and with their pure, penetrating, and
minimalist language. this is their way reacting to a Society that sometimes criticizes them for their independent
ways. This book is an an excellent basis for further study of Anna Sokolow's life and art.

The self-help guide to naturalistic acting.
I found this book particularly useful from an actor's point of view. It successfully directed me in my presentation of the piece, due to the in depth description and psycological analysis. It enabled me to give a truthful, fully-developed, and highly naturalistic portrayal of Anna. I would strongly recommend the book to anyone intending to put on the piece, and anyone researching the aspects of naturalistic drama.
