Superb and Serious
Excellent works, both Volumes I and II.
Very important that all photos in colour, grouped according to type.
Careful and clear document, with accompanying advertisement reproductions illustrating the compacts, the styles, the periods covered.
Carefully researched, very neat, clear easy to follow.
Huge selection, especially with 2 volumes.
Estimated values may/not be accurate, but author explains which models need what parts for best vlues.
I highly recommend.

the source for compacts
This volume, along with volume one, is the source for compacts. There are tons of color photos of everything from compacts and vanities to plies, powder boxes, rouge compacts, and advertising. Mueller gives fine intros to each of her topics, educating the reader on the makers, the different styles, and where to focus your collecting if you don't have big bucks. Mueller also doesn't jack up the prices to astronomical heights like Gerson's book--prices are reasonable and acceptable for easy- and hard-to find compacts. The book is well organized, and I'd be hard-pressed to see how to do this one better.

Exceptional Guide for the compact collector.
I have both volumes and find these books easy to read with beautiful pictures and descriptions of compacts and carryalls. I reference these books everytime I am about to make a purchase. The compact values are listed under each picture with description so you don't have to look in another part of the book for the price as so many price guides are written. I highly recommend this book as well as volume 1 for any serious compact collector.

Color Atlas of Sexual Assault
An excellent resource book for anyone working as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. I recommend this book to all nurses new to forensic nursing. A must have book!

Linda Sifuentes, RN CA-SANE
Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner
Austin, Texas

Very good pictures
This book is very complete, and has many pictures describing a variety of situations. Highly recommended.

You should also consider "Sexual Assault: The Medical-Legal Examination". This book has more information on the psychology of the assailant and the assailed, and on filling out legal forms during examination, but "Color Atlas" has more pictures.

An essential resource book
My forensic nurse colleagues have provided an outstanding resource for those of us who perform sexual assault exams and forensic evidence collection. The photographic documentation of cases and information in the Color Atlas have proved invaluable to me as a sexual assault nurse examiner. Our district attorney also purchased the book as a reference. I applaud the five authors of this text for a job well done. They have produced a professional work, accurately and well written, with outstanding photodocumentation of sexual assault cases.

Funny mystery
Laura Fleming and her husband Richard are visited by the manager of the sock mill in Laura's home town. Strange things are happening at the mill and Burt's father is looking to sell the place. Since alot of Laura's relatives work there, she agrees to investigate. Sure enough, the town and the Burdettes are split about the sale. To top it off, there is a firebug in town, and one of the prospective buyers is killed in a fire. Laura suspects one of her cousins of the fire, but doesn't believe he'd commit murder.

This is an entertaining mystery. Laura's relatives are really funny and plentiful. The mystery is good also. I definitely will be reading more of this series.

It's a little strange sometimes reading the books.....
I live in the area where the ficitonal town of Byerly is located. Trust me. It can get a little strange sometimes reading the Laura Flemings books and see a mention of a location familar to you in a work of fiction. It's almost like you're in Wonderland where everything is familar but yet different in some way. I'll admit that it has been fun trying to figure out where Byerly is located.

Can't wait until the next book.

Enjoyable amateur sleuth tale
Richard Fleming is a professor who enjoys quoting Shakespeare in his everyday conversations. His wife Laurie is a computer programmer from Byerly, North Carolina, a place where her family still mostly resides. Laurie is renowned as an individual who solves homicide cases. Still, both are shocked when the son of her hometown mill owner Burt Waller appears at their Back Bay apartment.

Burt's father wants to sell the mill to Yankees, but he opposes the deal. He needs the Flemings to return to Byerly to dig up some dirt on the perspective buyers so his father will not sell. Since many of Laurie's relatives work at the mill, the couple agrees to investigate. Upon arrival, the Flemings realize they seek dirt on a seemingly nice man. They additionally become involved in several arson and one murder investigation.

Toni L. P. Kelnor writes some of the most quaint and likable amateur detective novels on the market today. DEATH OF A DAMN YANKEE is one of the better mysteries in a well-written series. The complex story line is multi-faceted and captures the essence of a small Southern town, while seeming to test sub-genre boundaries. The lead protagonists are a charming duo that contributes to the enjoyment of the novels. These entertaining Fleming tales are fun to read.

A wonderful book about an unsual, enchanting little animal
This book is a favorite at our house. The pictures are beautiful. Really a lovely book featuring lots of wildlife and a soothing lilt to the rhymes. I highly recommend it!

Wonderful for toddlers!
Every time my three-year old son and I go to the library he asks to bring this book home with him. The illustrations provide a realistic yet comforting view of the natural environment making this an excellent introduction to non-fiction books for young children. I'm purchasing Dig Hole, Soft Mole for my son so that other children at our local library can have a chance to take it home and read it!

Beautiful Book
Beautiful, realistic illustrations depicting the habitat of the mole is accompanied by simple, poetic verses. My 21-month old daughter loves it and I think it's a wonderful book with which to teach children about the natural world.

The book we've been waiting for!
Finally a book that describes exactly how to meet our clients where they are at simultaneously assisting them in effecting positive change in their lives! Villapiano and Goodman fully address a variety of the complex issues inherent in the eating disorders treatment process. Complete with case examples, the authors describe interventions that are successful with even the most difficult to reach clients. This is a "must have" for every therapist who treats people with eating disorders! Great book!

Eating Disorders-Time for Change, Plans, Strategies and Work
As a therapist in the field of eating disorders for the past 19 years, I was excited to read a book that got to the heart of the concerns that therapists bring to the table when working with people experiencing eating disorders. The book helped me to think about the multitude of issues that permeate our work in the eating disorders field. I appreciated all the practical issues raised in the book, such as the therapist's use of food and drink, the therapist's attire and the many seemingly simplistic but truly complicated concerns that arise in the treatment relationship. This book is a wonderful teaching tool for all therapists in the field of eating disorders.

Great Resource for Clinicians
I have been working with eating disorders for the fifteen years and this is the best book I have read yet. The book offers comprehensive strategies that are very useful. I highly recommend this book if you work with clients who have eating disorders!

English & Scottish Popular Ballads Vol 1 by Francis James Ch
Superb. For anyone interested in either the words or origins of English & Scottish folk music this is essential. You can settle those arguments (over a beer) as to who has the correct words or the origin.

The biblography needs some getting used to but when you understand it you will find this book a good companion.

It's alive ...
The English and Scottish Popular Ballads are, as noted here, out of print in their Dover edition ... but fear not, they are being re-issued (in 5 volumes, 2 of which are actually done) by the folks at Loomis House Press. (I am not affiliated with Loomis in any way; do a Google search if you want to find 'em.) The books are authoritative and complete, and it's disappointing that Amazon doesn't list them.

Another One Bites the Dust
Had I the time, I'd write my own ballad here - a tragic song mourning the fact that Dover Books has apparently let the anchor of any decent Anglo-Celtic folk music collection go out of print. I take comfort in the fact that I've got mine, but those just building their libraries will have to search used bookstores and haunt the bookfinding services of the Net. Meanwhile, one more brick is placed in the wall of time that separates us from the ancestral voices.

Something to look forward to
As a long-time travel editor and first-time mother-to-be, I found this book to be a tremendous relief--it's possible, I've discovered, to actually have a wonderful time traveling as a family. Rather than dread what I'd assumed was the obligatory annual trip to Florida's theme parks, I'm now anticipating taking my child to all the wonderful parts of the world I've visited and want to return to, as well as those I've only read about. This book has been a true inspiration and, during these last weeks when I actually can't get on a plane, a light at the end of the tunnel!

You need not have a family to enjoy this book.
Hearing that I was planning a vacation which included extensive travel, a friend gave me this delightful book. As I prepared for my trip, I read the articles which dealt with places I'd visit. Since returning home, I've read most of the other pieces. I assure you that you need not be traveling with family to enjoy these 'Family Travel' adventures.

a travel guide to enjoy wherever you are
I loved this book, especially The Cheese Sandwich That Changed My Life. What a wonderful story! There is something for everyone in this collection. I've already bought a couple copies as gifts for family and friends.

Fever Dreams

Great reading, a real page turner
Laura Leone's best book to date. She's found her calling in single title romance. Superb storytelling and use of language. Great comedy, great suspense, great sex, and a great hero - this book has it all. Among the best romances I've ever read!

A fantastic read!
This was one of the fastest, funniest, sexiest romances I've ever read, and intelligent to boot. I've read everything Laura Leone/Resnick has written, both romance and fantasy, and it's all great, but for pure reading fun, Fever Dreams is at the head of my personal list. I love the way Madeline and Ransom connect and strike sparks without either of them being hopelessly neurotic or immature. Just two smart, funny people who seem very different, but ultimately establish believable common ground in the midst of wild adventure. I don't want Laura to give up her epic fantasy novels--but please, a romance now and then also?

Absolutely Fabulous!
One of the very best contemporary romance novels I have read in years. I came across it over a year ago and I've been searching for other books by Laura Leone ever since. A great combination of adventure, earthy sex, and touching romance. If you like Elizabeth Lowell and Linda Howard, this is a must read.
