This is a wonderful collection of short 1-2 page writings on many different topics in life. Love, time, how to live with passion for life, friendship, history, you name it. The writings are so eloquent and thought-provoking that you could spend an afternoon talking about each one. A joy to read! Learn to be alive, not to just go on living! 'Celebration' deserves to be celebrated!
This book is, in a word, fabulous. The text is concise, yet flavorful, and of course the subject matter (Orson Welles) is ALWAYS interesting, but the real wealth here is in those delectable photographs. The barrage of images starts with the cover and doesn't quit until the last page. All of them are tasteful, well-chosen, and evocative. A must for any Orson Welles fan...

I thoroughly enjoyed this tape. Beautiful poetry read by beautiful voices. It's wonderful for playing in the car on long journeys, it could even be the perfect antidote to road rage. Very relaxing.

Excellent Book
The Political Theory of Jon Taylor of Caroline is book which should be on the shelf of any Jeffersonian.Professor Hill provides in detail the complete political theory of John Taylor
and his defense of agarianism. The author provides information on
Taylor's relationship with other Jeffersonians and how they
fought to implement limited government. My only disagreement
is that too much emphasis is put on minor differences with
Taylor's friend and collaborator, Thomas Jefferson.Although it

is true Taylor and Jefferson disagreed on minor points of
banking, he and Jefferson were friends and kindred spirits.

Jefferson and Taylor agreed on the fundementals of republican
government: agrarian democracy, the sovereignty of the people
limited federal government, reform of the federal judiciary,
and individual liberty. They did very much disagree on the
issue of slavery. Taylor reamined loyal to Jefferson
throughout his political life, twice being an elector
for him, and introducing the Virginia Resolutions in the
Virginia Legislature in 1799. Professor Hill does show
Taylor's greatness as an American philosopher.
Overall an excellent read.

ONE OF THE BEST
Taylor's books have gone in and out of print, and been eclipsed by authors such as Capstick. But when it comes to writing about adventure in Africa Taylor delivers the goods. An admitted Ivory poacher, his tales of Africa from the late 20's to the 40's is a great reading experience. Many books on African hunting are by former game wardens and PH's, this book give an account of African hunting from the other side of the tracks.

Recommended for Parents too!
I highly recommend this book to any parent that is involved with special education. As the parent of a teenager with an IEP,it is extremely important to be able to look at all viewpoints of how a disability may affect the educational process. While behavior modification is an important part that both a parent and child must play; one must also know how to effectively determine the guidelines and responsibilities of each player. A child with a learning disability or mental illness is often labeled a "problem child" by his teachers or family. "Behaviors" that are seen as problematic are often negative symptoms of the illness that the child or parent may suffer from. Recognizing this, and helping others to do so, is one of the hardest goals a parent must achieve. It is critical that "society" is educated on mental illnesses, and does not immediately write off "behaviors" as bad parenting. Sadly, the parent may be doing everything humanly possible to encourage this "bad" child to "behave". John Taylor's targeted audience is the counselor, who must try to determine the problem issues. It is vastly helpful to know what guides the counselor along this path. Correct diagnosis is critical to assure effective treatment. Knowledge of the diagnostic processes involved is the primary key to supporting the diagnosis and treatment for an adult or their child. As a psychologist and the father of several children (some diagnosed with ADHD), John Taylor's books are valued because he has "been there-done that" on a daily basis. His books "Helping Your Hyperactive/Add Child" and "The hyperactive child and the family : the complete what-to-do handbook" are also excellent, in addition to a video "The School Success Tool Kit". This author has earned a place on my list of "gotta-have-it" many times.

Lightfoot, Taylor and Bates
If you're interested in reformed theology, the Puritan Bookshelf CDs are a great way to get an extensive library of books, lectures and sermons, for very little expense - and without having to search the world for them in libraries and used book stores. Every CD is packed with a wealth of wisdom and biblical instruction that goes far beyond what is generally seen in our day.

Volume Ten contains eleven books; five massive volumes written by three authors of the 17th century, along with six books by more contemporary covenanters.

"The Works of the Reverend and Learned John Lightfoot" abounds with great history lessons of New Testament times. This book includes a full description of the temple and its service, as they stood in the days when Christ was on earth - complete with a detailed, labelled drawing of the temple, done by the author himself.

Among the many valuable lessons in "The Works of the Judicious and Learned Divine, Dr. Thomas Taylor," is an exposition on Eph. 5:15. The author stresses the importance of the Christian walking circumspectly, demonstrating which areas of life this admonition applies to, and how the Christian is to gain the wisdom he needs in order to obey it. In the words of Dr. Taylor, "A circumspect Christian is not so careful for the... tilling, and sowing of his field, the pruning of his trees, the feeding of his cattle; as in fencing the heart against temptation, in sowing the seed of God's Word, in weeding of sin by the roots out of his soul, in feeding and fostering of grace."

"The Works of the late Reverend and Learned William Bates," contains more than thirty sermons on such practical subjects as forgiveness, the fear of God, and the danger of prosperity. Several of the sermons in this book were preached at the funerals of such eminent and godly men as Thomas Manton, David Clarkson and Richard Baxter.

This is only a glimpse of what is available on these wonderful CDs. I can't recommend them highly enough, to anyone who wants to study Protestant Church History from those who were there.

You can see the full listing for all 32 Puritan Bookshelf CDs online, at Still Waters Revival Books. SWRB also lists a similar set of 30 CDs in their Reformation Bookshelf CD series.

Excellent, broad approach to the subject.
A very informative book with a good mix of visual and written information. Great to find a book on recycling that goes beyond "101 things to do with a toilet roll"! A very good starting point if you are interested in crafts and objects made from salvaged materials with a "majority" world bias. Good for dipping into and reading right through.Of interest to a wide age group, art and craft practitioners/students or armchair travellers.

The compositions if the greatest Romanticist ever
The Romantics redefined english literature, and Samuel Taylor Coleridge was one of the leaders. Between he and William Wordsworth, they WERE the movement. His vision, and glorified writing style still tantalize me to this day.
