Great Teaching device!
I think that this book is an extremely helpful book for a classroom teacher who is looking to teach directions such as north, south, east, and west. Directions are used and with a follow up activity this children's book could really compliment it.

The little pup is a pure delight!
In the spirit of Harry the Dirty Dog and Curious Jorge comes another delightful and energetic animal that goes exploring his surroundings. The book is a joy to read and children will love having it read to them.

Best book for visiting the Napa & Sonoma Valley Wine Country
I shopped around extensively at local travel bookstores to find a good wine country book, and I think this one is the best. It has beautiful color pictures on almost every page. Many of the pictures show the wine labels, which helps make the book a nice souvenir for you to remember the wine/winery later. The pictures are supplemented with insightful commentary on the wines, history of each winery, and even pictures/descriptions of the restaurants, lodgings. The maps are also in color, and are detailed for each town. Also included is an events/festivals list and analysis of wine vintages by year. All that, and it's still small enough to carry with you when you visit the wineries.

Great Book of the Wine Country
My wife and I were completely delighted following the "tours" in this guide. The maps, directions and winery descriptions were second to none! Anyone contemplating a trip to the California wine country should consider this book a MUST. Of course, if your not planning a trip, you will be after reading this! We stayed at two different B&B's recommended by the book and were very pleased. The book accurately depicted the quality of the rooms and hospitality of the staff. Again, I highly recommend this wine country guide.

I have the german version and for sure this is a masterpiece
Ullmann encyclopedia of IC is an excellent chemical guide for any person interested on chemical processes including pharmaceutical and food industries. The version we own is from year 1954 and is in german. Current edition is too expensive for any individual...I wonder how many libraries own a new edition. I am open to any further discussion about this collection...I am thinking on donate it...

This is the greatest encyclopedia of science
I own the 2nd edition (from 1933) of this work, and I still use it almost weekly. I would love to buy the latest version, but cannot afford it.

What a way to share our hope
I have been interested in how this present age is going to end. Since becoming a Christian a few years back, I have tried to share our hope with those outside of Christ. This book has helped me see more ways to reach people. I read the book through in the first reading and then went back through it again. I did so, so that I could spend the time to look up the Scripture references and read them in context. I find that this is an essential part of any study of the Bible that you undertake. I was impressed with the way that the interpretation kept within the context of the passage. It took me extra time to do so, but, I feel that this is what is needed for evangelism so that we will always be able to explain the passages to those that are searching. I would recommend this book as a great tool to use when you talk with someone about Christ and about the promises that we are given. You are able to show God's love for us by showing not only what He has done in the past, but what He is going to do on our behalf in this present age and in the age to come. This book not only helps you with your sharing of our Lord, it enriches your own faith and deepens your love and appreciation of our God

A Walvoord Masterwork
What a witnessing opportunity prophecy can be as we head into the twenty first century. Everyone, whether Christian, atheist, Muslim, or Buddhist has an opinion on how the end will come about. As Christians, we have the answers as to what is going to happen in the future. What better way to discuss biblical truths with an unbeliever than to talk about something that is so important in today's society? In doing this, however, we need to know the truths and the promises God has made to us, and other parts of the world. Dr. Walvoord has spent his life researching this topic that is talked about so much in these days. Walvoord talks about end times in a way that the simple layman can understand, but with truths that should be taken to heart by the most devout student of the Bible. Walvoord explains in detail some of the issues that are staring the near future in the face. If you want to know what the Bible says about today's headlines and about why we should study prophecy, you owe it to yourself, and others to get this book. What an inspiration to know how God has kept His promises, and will keep His promises in the future.

Entomology and the Law
This book has it all. If ever a book crossed the lines of genre from a working guide for a professional in his field to an interesting read for the inquisitive mind, this book is it. This book is for the professional who has anything to do with a murder scene or wrongful death situation. This book is for everyone who watches television because "Entomology and the Law" is the marriage of a great murder mystery crossed with an investigatory courtroom drama. This book is for every litigator who wants to effectively use the law of scientific evidence in the courtroom. This book is for the layman who wants to know more. You see, it's about bugs. Gross bugs. Flys actually, and the fact that flys can be accurately used to identify the time and location of death. Interesting? Yes. Easy read? No. Necessary read? DEFINITELY.

New must-have book on Forensic Entomology.
ENTOMOLOGY AND THE LAW is the definitive book on forensic entomology we've been asking for. Kunich and Greenberg are an
unbeatable "Dream Team" when it comes to combining the law and the science. Everything anyone might need to know about forensic
entomology is in this book. For the scientists/expert witnesses, the "Father of Forensic Entomology", Dr. Bernard
Greenberg, provides a meticulous, highly detailed, and comprehensive guide to using insect-related evidence to determine the time of death in homicide cases. No one in the world knows more about the science and practice of forensic
entomology than Dr. Greenberg, and he has memorialized his decades of research and experience in this volume, the crowning achievement of his unsurpassed career. And for the attorneys who litigate these difficult cases, and who must either prepare or cross-examine the expert witnesses, Law Professor and Harvard Law School graduate John Kunich spells out all of the intricacies of the law of scientific evidence, use of expert witnesses, and specific strengths and weaknesses of forensic entomology evidence in court. ETOMOLOGY AND THE LAW will be indispensable for litigators and scientists all over the world, because of the information it contains on admissibility of scientific evidence in nations other than the United States. Even laypersons will enjoy this book, especially the millions of viewers of the hit television show "C.S.I. (Crime Scene Investigation)," which often features forensic entomology in its dramas. What a rare and sublime union of law and science this book is!

A "modern" classic (if that's not an oxymoron)
The best reason to get this book is not for the drawings or houses, but for the introduction. This intro is one of the late Colin Rowe's best writings, and clarifies the *difference* between the works presented inside and the works' inspiration from 1930's Modernism, and all the cultural/historical baggage that goes with it. Rowe's writing concerns itself less with form and visual/formal parrallels, which goes somewhat against the stereotypes of Rowe's clique of "Fingerlake Formalists" and presents Rowe as a more astute socio-political analyst than you might otherwise assume.

Buy it for the essay. Take the rest with a grain of salt.

All the info with no waffle
This is one of the best books of its kind, showing why these men went on to be of the best in their field. It is worth buying simply for Meier's Smith house and Gwathmey's Residence and Studeo (1966) alone. These along with Eisenman's theories for both house 1 + 2, though rather OTT in real terms, is insightfull none the less, as well as an indepth review from the ever critical eye of K. Frampton, make this one of my most prized possetions.

Insightful history
This is the first book I read after becoming a reformed Christian. The personal stories of these five martyrs sheds magnificent light on the atmosphere of the time. Contained within is also one of the best abbreviated histories (30 short pages!) of the Protestant Reformation. It is amazing to discover that a handful of humble men lead such a significant event in Christian history.

Another fine book similar to this is SEEING THE INVISIBLE by Faith Cook, published by Evangelical Press.

Five English Reformers
Five English Reformers describes the lives of five men who were burnt at the stake while under the reign of Queen Mary the 1st or better known as "Bloody Mary ". They were, John Hooper, a Protestant bishop, Rowland Taylor, Rector of Hadleigh, Hugh Latimer a Protestant bishop, John Bradford, and Nicholas Ridley, another Protestant bishop. J.C.Ryle divides the book into six parts, the first describing why they were burnt, and the last five , a description of each of their lives. Ryle takes much of his material from John Foxe's Book of Martyrs to give an easy to read account of men who died for Christ. It shows the true colors of "Bloody Mary" under whose reign these men and 283 others including, fifty-five women and four children were burnt at the stake. I believe the chapters on Latimer and Ridley are the most touching of the book. I highly recommend this, and hope you will get as much out of it as I have. Another book worth reading is Fair Sunshine, by Jock Purves.

Excellent source for eco-friendly home renovation ideas!
Outstanding book -- I wish it was still in print! Hundreds of detailed yet succinct plans for ecologically friendly home projects, from the simple to the sublime, most of which are feasible for the semi-skilled amateur. Admittedly somewhat dated (1976, reads like 1968!), but excellent for stimulating ideas.

best homeplaning book i ever read, includes site selection
this very in depth book begins with understanding climate , micro climate, site selection & placement of the home to optimize solar etc. very easy to read & understand.

Dixie -The Closest Thing To Heaven!!!!!!!
I have read short bios on John Pelham before and own one other book about him but I have never been able to find one that really tells in depth about this brave young man until now. This book is the definitive biography on John Pelham. I was so surprised to see other pictures of him, having always only seen the well known waist up photo of him in his West Point uniform , this books contains pictures of his brothers and sister and two of him I never knew existed. I hope one day all the letters that he wrote to his family during the war are printed in book form. What a treasure it would be to read them!!!!!

Final Word
No need to elaborate:

As a lifelong admirer of John Pelham, this book is quite simply "the best of the best" of Pelham reads.

If you must own just one Pelham book, this is it.
