Spirituality made easy to understand!
This book covers spiritual growth and transformation in an easy-to-understand, step-by-step approach. Drawing upon the principles of personal development and spiritual transformation outlined decades ago by Edgar Cayce, the author covers such topics as meditation, love, the nature of the soul, spiritual ideals, and the Oneness of all life. For anyone who has ever read A Course in Miracles, Conversations with God, or Celestine Prophecy, this is a must. Great for small group study, as well!

THE BOOK THAT HEALS
This book is extremely interesting, comprehensive, well written, and well documented. It is a MUST read for anyone considering alternative approaches to healing, particularly those espoused by Edgar Cayce, a man many rightly regard as the father of modern holistic medicine.

Fascinating reading material
Cayce's predictions are hard to believe, but what if his claims are true. He tells of light beings visiting the earth before humans were around and getting trapped in flesh boddies. He takes the reader to the building of the pyrimids and much, much more. This is a very interesting book.

Insight in Human Evolution
Many Edgar Cayce's Readings with some additional text added to help understand the readings better.
The book gives an overview of the Human Evolution / Development from the first time man was in the earth until the time of the final destruction of Atlantis and much on the earliest big advancements in Egypt brought about by people from Atlantis (some travelled to Egypt before Atlantis was destroyed).
A few comments were made in the book on present day, and future, activities in the earth...

ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT
There are already some long reviews written about this book. All I can add is this book is a wonderful read. Very hard to put down. A book WELL WORTH OWNING.I can't wait to start the follow up Atlantis re-visited.

GOOD INTRODUCTION TO CAYCE
Conservative Christians who wonder about such seemingly unbiblical concepts as karma and reincarnation would do well to read this book. It could change their lives, much as Edgar Cayce (a conservative, biblically oriented Christian) found his own life changed once he had been introduced to Truth.

This is THE must read story of America"s greatest psychic
.

This book will set the tone for understanding HOW and WHY Edgar Cayce was able to do what he did.

This book should be followed by Edgar Cayce's story of Jesus, and then the Edgar Cayce Ccompanion.

These three books in this order will give the mind a comprehensive understanding of HOW and WHY this man was called the "sleeping prophet"

*****

A life-changing book
How many times have you heard the overused term "life-changing," usually used to describe decidedly non-life-changing things?

Well, this book is an exception. This biography is the first step to understanding Edgar Cayce: who he was, and the ageless wisdom he left for us. Cayce was "tapped in" to the universal river of knowledge. The lessons here will always remain valid, for they come from God.

After reading this book, read Edgar Cayce's Story of Jesus, Edgar Cayce on Reincarnation, Edgar Cayce on Atlantis, and the others. To continue your studies (and expand your perceptions even further), read Seth Speaks: The Eternal Validity Of The Soul. I feel that these books, along with the Holy Bible, are the best books you can read.

revelation earth
There is relevance to Revelation, Genesis and Daniel here in 2,001. How? If you have and know how to use your concordance (and are feeling so inclined) you will discover that our space program is very reminisant of the tower of babel (sorry to burst your bubble) and the so called fall of mankind in the garden of eden (if you are looking for common threads you will find them). If you will recall, the snake promised that the (increased) knowledge that came with the fruit (like the increased knoweledge predicted to happen, like what we see today)would enable Eve, and later Adam, to become as the gods who said, come, let US make man in OUR image. Then, after the close call with extinction at the (so-called "flood") (which I am allowing for some possibility in my mind may have occurred in some facsimile) It is said that after repopulation, in BABYLON, that the tower of Babel was constructed, it would (enable man to) reach up into the heavens (so they could be with the gods and become as the gods, having their own charriots of fire)(hang with me). Obviously, humans once again seek to become as the gods while trying to work out their own salvations (preserve ourselves from extinction). Why else build the tower of babel? A world wide flood with but a few surviving (think of it in symbolic terms, because currently I do, too) is a close call with extinction. Then, fastforward to Babylon, in Daniel. Daniel is said to have interpreted a dream of king Nebucanezzer's(sp?) to which the king erects an image of solid gold as a symbol that his (man's) kingdom shall endure forever (a form of denial that persists as Daniels interpretation predicts that all subsequent kingdoms shall be inferior to Babylon in splendor). Fastforward to our space program of today. Once again, it appears, we are repeating what those kings Babylon attempted, as predicted in revelation that the Babylon in the last days would do, which is to construct towers that will enable us to reach up (travel) into the heavens and attempt, you guessed it, a settlement on Mars (we spend billions if not trillions on this currently). Why? Ultimately, we know that we are not being good stewards of the Earth (there is a passage that says that god comes to destroy those who destroy the Earth. Funny, conservatives are usually the worst when it comes to being conservationists). So, our space program serves as our foot out the backdoor in case (when) we have trashed the Earth too much or... Like it or not, there is much relevance here and the towers of old may have been our early ancestors trying to copy what they saw in their day. Those pharohs of Egypt may have not been so mistaken when they went to such great lengths to preserve their bodies. With todays scientific minds, it is easy to see that they may have been hoping to have their well preserved cells cloned into making a twin (hey, a twin of the king and his family is better than no twins at all)

Thank you very much for your time and co-operation! ...

THE book to read, re: the Book of Revelations
The Book of Revelations is a mysterious scripture - often quoted, usually misinterpreted and taken out of context. John Cord's book struck me as both a work of serious scholarship and of sincere devotion (a rare combination). Mr. Cord has no causes to espouse, or religious axes to grind, in this work. Rather, he meticulously interprets each and every sentence of Revelations in light of the channeled wisdom of the world's most credible "psychic", Edgar Cayce.
There are many self-serving books on the market which distort the meaning of such scriptures in order to instill fear-based "faith" and elicit financial contributions from sincere seekers. These "bogus" tomes provide little or no genuine information to the seeker of Truth. John Cord has made a major contribution to spiritual literature, and I look forward to his next release.
I highly recommend "Revelation Earth" to anyone who wants a detailed reference to Edgar Cayce's interpretations of this important scripture. As far as I know, there is no other such reference available.
Hats off to John Cord!!!

A brilliant pearl in the sea of spiritual knowledge.
This book touches ones soul and carries it closer to enlightenment. If you search for truth and wisdom buy this book..no matter what your religion. You will not regret it.

A Skeptical Author Converted
Having studied the work of Edgar Cayce for many years, I was amazed at how much I learned from this book. The author freely admits that he was a skeptic and originally not interested in writing about Edgar Cayce. However, after researching and studying the voluminous files and interviewing people for six years, this professional writer was converted to a fan of Edgar Cayce.

Kirkpatrick was the first Cayce biographer to be given unrestricted access to the Cayce archives. Since the vast majority of people who had psychic Readings from Cayce are dead, the author was allowed to use real names and publish material that was never made public before. This includes Readings that Cayce gave at the White House and Readings given for famous people, including movie stars.

But the author makes no effort to deify Edgar Cayce. His personal shortcomings and struggles are portrayed in a forthright manner. Intimate family relationships and details highlight the humanity of this gifted seer. Personally, I found I could relate to the struggles of the Cayce family members. Sometimes they made wise choices and sometimes they did not. But through it all they grew, which is what Cayce said is the purpose of our lives.

I have read most of the books available about Edgar Cayce. I recommend this book very highly.

Edgar Cayce : An American Prophet
This book is an exceptional telling of a remarkable true story. In the 57 years that I have been active in working with the ideas and data that flowed through Edgar Cayce, I value this book as the deepest examination of the real person and history of Cayce and his contributions to: growth in saving one's soul and one's body and one's world. Kirkpatrick's skill and energy as an investigative journalist make solid and tangible the history and faith of a man possessed by a profound talent lived out in a life of faith and human struggle. This book is both an introduction and summary of much of that which is central in what Cayce taught. It serves this role by depicting in detail how Cayce lived in his own life the spiritual laws he presented. This telling does not canonize Cayce; nor does it psychoanalyse him. The credibility of this book that particularly touched me is based on detailed, explicit, documented investigative journalism.

Wow, What an Amazing Book!
I had heard of Edgar Cayce for many years but had never read anything about his life before I read this book. I thumbed-through the book, saw how detailed and precise it was with highly-substantiated information, read the praise about the book from previous authors of books on Cayce, and decided that this was the book for me.

The open channel that Cayce was to a higher form of consciousness was truly incredible. The accurate predictions he would make about others' lives and the cures he would come-up with for people who were given virtually no chance to live were indeed remarkable too. Oftentimes doctors would believe that his prescriptions for cures were totally ridiculous and those doctors would be proven wrong again and again.

With the documentation provided by Kirkpartick, one can only conclude that there truly is a higher form of consciousness that exists at all times. And Cayce clearly was very gifted in being able to constantly access this higher form of consciousness.

The gift was not without its downside, though, as Cayce continually experienced hardship in his own life in the areas of money, health, and a series of business partners who clearly took advantage of both him and his great gift to connect with "the source."

If you are at all interested in the arena of metaphysics I highly recommend this book to you.

Must be read with an open mind
The book basically contains 3 parts: Some of Edgar Cayce's readings related to Atlantis; The evidences both from a Geology and Archaeology viewpoint; and a brief history of the archaeology findings in both Egypt and Bimini. The book by no means shed more light onto this mystery. The book must be read with an open mind especially when Edgar Cayce spoke of the origin of humankind, nevertheless, it is always interesting to read other peoples' philosophy on matter such as this. The later two elements of this book (Geology, Archaeology findings) makes it worthwhile to read. The Author in every why he could, attempted to use these findings/evidence to support Edgar Cayce's views, however, these findings/evidence by no means confirm nor deny the existence of Atlantis.

Good no nonsense overview of Atlantis
Easy to read 200 page book that gives an overview of the Cayce readings about Atlantis. Considering how much garbage has been written about Atlantis just to sell books, this is an excellent place to start. Strength of the book is the author's attempt to present the Cayce readings objectively with comparisons to scientific thinking and that of other metaphysical writers on the topic, such as the Theosophists. The weakness is that some of the science is outdated, and it is presented incompletely.

There are compelling scientific arguments against a mid-ocean continent 50,000 years ago containing an advanced technological civilization. This makes Cayce more difficult to believe than is acknowledged here. But there are real reasons to take Cayce seriously, both metaphsical and scientific. One of Cayce's claims to fame is his statements that the Sphinx and the largest pyramid at Giza are much older than archeologists believe, and that there is now---some 70 years later--geologic and astronomical evidence to support these claims for an age of 12,400 years (though these claims are vociferously denied by Egyptologists).

An excellent book as a follow up to this one, exploring this geologic and astronomical (as well as common sense) evidence that support Cayce's claims for a vast age for some Egyptian monuments is "The Message of the Sphinx" by Hancock and Bauval. THAT book, about the ancient Egyptians, which gives Cayce credibility, is five stars.

The Origin of Mankind
This is an excellent book, but should be read after you read "Edgar Cayce on Atlantis". There is some redundancy but this book contains additional information and insight into the readings of Edgar Cayce, including an Afterward section that gives you a summary of recent archeological findings that support the readings of Edgar Cayce.

In this book, you will find an attempt to categorize this history of early ancient civilizations into three categories related to the partial or complete destruction of ancient civilization dating from 50,000 b.c., 30,000 b.c., and 10,500 b.c. According this book, we are living in the fourth time period dating from around 10,500 b.c. to the present. Explanations of the various types of people (and/or beings) are given. The "Dead Sea Scrolls" and even the "Bible" also support these descriptions to some degree.

If you are a hard-core evolutionist or creationist, this book will provide some support for both but you will quickly realize that a lot of what is taught in school, is not necessarily supported by recent archeological findings. You will also discover that we are all on a spiritual journey, possibly of our own choosing. The most interesting dilemma in the research in Egypt is that there seems to be an overwhelming amount of evidence that a "Hall of Records" that contains information about the architects of the Egyptian Pyramids, is buried under the Sphinx or nearby in a Pyramid "of it's own".

Why don't we go over there and dig up the records? Cayce's claim is that these things cannot happen until the right time or until we are ready for the "next evolution of mankind." If in fact these records exist, we would have to re-write history and it would probably have a radical affect on our society, both scientifically and spiritually. This book also paints a picture of our own future that is bleak (although I found this particular chapter to be a little speculative for my tastes.) The Afterward is good but you will want to read other books that support these writings since they are vague and only summarized.

Lastly, I have begun to really doubt the accuracy of Carbon-14 dating, not just from this book but from other archeological books I've read that draw conclusions based solely on dating research. The tests used to date the Pyramids, place the dates of the Pyramids 200 years before Kafu, the assumed builder of the Pyramids. Unfortunately, it also doesn't support the dates provided by Cayce either. The Carbon-14 dates really don't make much sense, especially if you consider that there are watermarks around the neck of the Sphinx, which can only be traced to the period between 8000 and 5000 b.c. The fact is, we still have a great deal to learn about the Pyramids and that the most incredible archeological finds, are still to be had right in Giza. Hopefully there is more to come.

not much information
This is a very thin tiny book and doesn't contain much information. This book is for people who just want to know something about auras. Though Edgar Cayce can see auras, he's not really good in interpreting them. He has limited knowledge in this area.

Really all you need to know about auras
Perhaps why Edgar Cayce took so long to write a book on auras is that reading and interpreting auras is something very intuitive rather than something systematic that can be easily learned. Although I can sense an energy about people, I have never been able to see colours there. Once I was at a dinner party and I couldn't fathom why something seemed very different about one of the other guests. He died a couple of months later. It was only after reading this book that I understood that I had picked up on his lack of aura. Edgar Cayce encourages us to look at all the other little clues surrounding people, including the colours they choose to wear, in order to get an impression of the colour of their aura and offers some interpretation of various colours. While some people may feel this book lacks substance and depth, the real message is that we each need to develop our own ability to read and interpret auras through our own intuitive faculties.

An authentic revelation
Mr. Cayce revealed to his friend, during a beautiful evening sunset over the west coast of Florida, that he could see auras. Nature itself was manifesting yet another glorius splendor of color through the atmospheric convulsions of earth's rotation. Since I began using this guide as a sole-basis for interpreting the aura's that I myself have seen for over eight years, my interpretations have hit in the 95% to 98% correct range. I anguish at the loss mankind suffered when Mr. cacye died later that year. For to have a compendium of more exact interpretations would be invaluable to both the seer of the aura, and to those whose physical and/or emotional well-being would have benefited from such a record. This small tome suffices as an ispiration for those of us left to continue his teachings!
For those who can see auras, a MUST!

Quite disappointed
Throughout the whole book, there are so much information being repeated over and over again. Otherwise it might be only 5 pages book. The author has limited knowledge in this area. It seems that the reason for writing this book is to make money out of his father's name (Edgar Cayce).

great book!
I am a practicing buddhist and contrary to the first reviewer I believe this book is very much in line with buddhist teachings. One has to draw their own parallels from it. But I strongly recommend it to any one who is interested in developing their inner world. Any one who believes that our minds/souls are huge un-tapped energy fields will enjoy this book. Its [inexpensive] and it is easy to ready. Great book.

*Way* exceeded my expectations
This book is packaged as a massmarket paperback, the kind you'd buy in a supermarket checkout line. I bought it casually and didn't expect more than a mildly interesting collection of Edgar Cayce's thoughts on the subject of channelling. Wrong! Reed is an excellent writer, and presents some rather huge ideas with remarkable clarity. This book is intelligent, fast-paced (but thorough) and most of all -- exciting! I couldn't wait to try some of the end-of-chapter exercises, especially the one on communicating with your Higher Self through dreams. The implications for creativity (writing, music, etc.) are empowering too.
