Adds a new depth and breadth to traditional astrology.
Authors Margaret Gammon and W.H. Church present in this volume an analysis of the Edgar Cayce readings and their many references to astrology and astrological influences.

Here we find, through the Cayce readings, the support of astrology as a study by which to understand ourselves, our spiritual path and development, and our life lessons.

Part One of this book explores the meanings of the planets and other astrological influences in the natal chart. In addition to supporting many of the traditional meanings of the planets, the readings explored in the book add greater depth and breadth to their interpretations.

As an example, Saturn's meaning was greatly clarified and expanded in this astrologer's understanding. Though at first glance, the readings seem to contradict the orthodox interpretations of Saturn, by holding both perspectives in the mind, we can more fully grasp Saturn's true nature. Traditionally considered to be a planet of restriction, caution, stability and the status quo, the Cayce readings indicate that Saturn actually is the ruler of change. By embracing both views simultaneously, we come to understand that Saturn is the discipline to implement change, to create progress, and represents ambition, patience, endurance and perserverance. Saturn is the Lord of Time - that which is eternal and ever changing. Thus it is the embodiment of the paradox that the only constant is change.

In reading "Astrology For The Soul," we come away with, perhaps, a new view of the astrological influences. Surprisingly, the readings specifically state that the signs themselves are of minimal importance, stressing instead the placement of the planets and their relation to the ascendant and zenith of the chart, as well as the significance (in many, but not all cases) of being cusp-born.

"...the constellations or...the zodiacal signs..., these are merely the wavering influences in the life [of the entity]." 8-1

The astrological influences are seen to be merely indicators, reflections of the spiritual experiences of the individual soul and its karma, and are not causative factors in and of themselves. Throughout the readings, Cayce emphasizes that we come into the physical at the time when the planets most reflect ourselves, that we create the conditions of our own charts, and not the other way around.

Certainly the signs' influences are mentioned and the authors include a number of them. Gammon and Church have done their homework, and describe the various references within the readings with clarity and the touch of seasoned astrologers.

According to Cayce, what the astrological indications DO offer us is an opportunity to discover what innate tendencies are available to us as individuals, which we may then choose to pursue, explore or develop. They also enable us to determine what ways in which we are likely to be led astray from our own developmental path, and to take measures to keep these in check, and to gain mastery over even our own "negative" traits.

A further look at the readings leads one to think that perhaps the constellations and signs are not emphasized because our current system is inaccurate.

"Hence the entity was born into the earth under what signs? Pisces, ye say. Yet astrologically from the records, these are some two signs off in thy reckoning." 5755-1

Indeed, the actual constellations no longer match the placement of the signs in present-day western astrology. The readings suggest that an accurate study of astrology would include the incorporation of the changing equinoxes. (pg. 80)

We are reminded, too, that our solar system is also in motion around a greater circle than accounted for in our present paradigm, and other influences may be important factors which we are overlooking. The authors point out, "the life readings are replete with references to Arcturus, the Greater Sun...with references to the Pleiades, Dog Star, Orion, the Great Bear, Polaris and others." (pg. 83)

Part Two of "Astrology For The Soul" is an exploration via the readings of the spiritual principles of the universe and how this "music of the spheres" relates the essential spiritual truths reflected in the various astrological indicators. This is followed by a very interesting exploration of sunspots and their cycles and potential influence on human life and events.

The authors present the material in an effective and thought provoking way, and support each conclusion with a generous sampling from the readings.

The Cayce readings, in discussing our relationship with astrology, remind us that we are creatures of free will and that our study of astrology can only enlighten us to our own potentialities. We must still make the efforts to develop our inclinations which lie reflected in our stars.

Edgar Cayce's Guide to Colon Care: The First Step to Vibrant Health

Very explicit and detailed. Amazing information.
This book completely changed (or should I say got me to pay attention to this very important subject)--the way in which I regarded proper colon care and maintenance. Ms. Duggan is very detailed in the information she conveys (which perhaps if done in an otherwise and unprofessional manner, might have been embarrassing). She very matter-of-factly and scientifically teaches and relates her experiences, starting with her first job giving colonics (a registered RN, something she had never done previously) and culminating in her wealth of experience and knowledge. We feel like we are actually learning with her. And it is a subject with should be more of a priority with us. Proper colon care can be directly relative to diet, back pain, health, high blood pressure, indigestion and a host of other things. I can't imagine anyone NOT benefiting greatly from reading this book.

Astonishing, intuitive perspective on human history!
I read this book several years ago and was absolutely enthralled by Edgar Cayce's vision of human "evolution." He speaks of the many epochs on earth from when human beings first incarnated on the planet, through the rise and fall of great civilizations and into the future of today's civilization. Cayce takes you on a journey of spiritual evolvement through the ages. Whether you lend credence to his vision or not (I do...) you will find Mr. Cayce's revelations to be simply remarkable. A wonderful book!

More Mysteries Revealed By The Sleeping Prophet
This book benefits from the numerous Cayce readings and quotations about the subject time period. One might wonder if it was a coincidence that so many people who obtained readings from Cayce had lived during that time. Maybe God caused this so that Cayce could use his miraculous psychic abilities to explain the bible which is something Cayce wanted to do to help others. The discussion is mainly about the different people who became leaders of the Israelites during this time period when they went from judges to kings. A re-occurring theme is that every person receives from God abilities, opportunities, and free will. Cayce's view of the greatest potential achievements of a person is to know God's will in their life and to strive to achieve this by working with God. Solomon probably represents the best example of someone who achieved greatness as Cayce viewed greatness by being in tune with God's direction. But then Solomon gave in to the negative side of his nature and abondoned his former glory. This is after God had told Solomon there had never been anyone like him before nor would there be anyone like him again on earth and this came true. This is especially significant seeing that Solomon was a wealthy person who had access to women and anything else he wanted already. So Solomon developed a desire to reject God for no other reason than he wanted to. Cayce indicated during his bible study sessions that "Very few people can stand prosperity and Solomon was not one of the few." Cayce actually feared becomming wealthy based on his knowledge of what happened to Solomon which is an indication of the greatness of this man who I have come to admire. The lesson is that anyone, no matter how much God has been a part of their life or chosen them, can reject God at any time. This was true even of Christ Himself. And if the individual chooses to reject the spiritual values this has implications not only for them but for others, maybe even for an entire nation or an entire world. As Spiderman's uncle Ben told him: 'with great power comes great responsibility'.

Amazing Insights Into Human Nature
This is the third and last of the 3 books that explain Cayce's revelations about what the old testament of the bible really means. I think most people, as they get older, can start to look back on their life and see the patterns and the cause and effect relationships more clearly. Cayce provides a similar type of insight into the entire history of the human race. What started with the first human (Adam) reaches a sort of conclusion with Christ who Cayce indicates was in fact Adam. Even so some of these ideas are still mysterious and hard to understand. I assume this same process has occurred on many, many other planets and that Christ died on many planets. It would have been very interesting to talk to Edgar Cayce because he had the ability, as did Christ Himself, to point out what was either really good or really bad in people. People can have very positive characteristics which they don't even realize they have such as being patient or understanding. Like the other two books in this series many interesting insights are provided about people such as John the Baptist who was also Elijah. When you think about it John the Baptist did have a tendency to say things that were probably better left unsaid. It was his criticizing of Herod's adulterous relationship with his wife that caused the wife to hate the Baptist and to cause his death. This wife was a reincarnation of the infamous Jezebel in the bible. I assume this was a continuation of this soul's journey that will eventually end in hell since it takes multiple lifetimes to lose your soul.

Edgar Cayce Was A Great Man
One of Edgar Cayce's greatest gifts to humanity was his unraveling of the bible stories. (Edgar Cayce's own life story is itself fascinating.) Anyone who wants to really understand the bible and human existence itself would want to read this book. But this type of information is not for the skeptical. It requires faith and an open mind. This book contains information which could only be obtained psychically. For example there would be no way to know that Eve and Mary were the same soul entity just by studying historical documents. This book indicates how intelligent life first starting appearing on and affecting the earth going back hundreds of thousands of years. Not surprisingly the selfish force manifested itself almost immediately with horrible consequences. Explanations are given for the legends of mythology and other myths. Quite a bit is explained about Moses and the many strange events surrounding the Exodus and wanderings of the Israelites. Moses was a very passionate person who killed an Egytpian that had messed around with his sister apparently in some disrespectful way. This is an interesting example of how Cayce's version of the event differs from the biblical version. Obviously Moses was enraged by this event and the general injustice being perpetrated against the Israelites by the Egyptians at that time. To say Moses was a mysterious person would be a gross understatement. He was a god like creature. The book doesn't state this but I would suspect that maybe Moses and Abraham were the same soul entity in different forms. Both spoke directly to God in some way. But it was Moses who dramatically demonstrated an intimate knowledge of God's powers. For example when the Khoras rebelled Moses indicated they would fall into the earth as the result of some type of earthquake. And they did ! But Moses had his problems and made his mistakes which is consistent with the idea of the soul learning during the earthly existence. Towards the end of the book there is an indication that Satan and the arch angel Michael somehow argued over or about the physical dead body of Moses. I'm not sure what that means but I think it indicates Moses had very pronounced characteristics for both good and evil. Both of these forces influenced Moses as I suspect they do for most people. Cayce indicated that Moses working with Joshua wrote at least some of the book of Genesis as well as other parts of the old testament while in a state of deep meditation.

Walk with Jesus
This book is a fascinating journey in transforming one's consciousness. It captivates with its rich insight into Christianity and the real meaning of the Gospels of John. It is concisely crafted, answering basic and complex questions people have when seeking to transform their life. It provides the tools to attain greater acceptance and understanding in the search for truth from within, and yet is so easy to read - one hardly puts it down except to savor and contemplate its greater implications. This book offers a provocative approach for those sincerely wanting and willing to open their hearts and minds to Jesus. I've given it several times as a gift as I feel it is the best book I've ever read about Jesus. Be adventurous and take the steps to become deeply aware as the Master directed.

Required Reading For All Followers Of The Law Of One
Any fan of Edgar Cayce and his psychic readings will want to read this book which describes events that occurred in the more significant incarnations of this very unusual individual.

The value of this book is not only the descriptions of each of Cayce's past life separately but also how his past lives affected his later incarnations.

Many examples are provided of how choices (both positive and negative) made in one life caused effects in a future life. This is called the law of kharma.

I doubt if there's any other source of information available that can provide this type of insight into the process of reincarnation. For most of us this type of information remains mainly at the subconscious level while we travel through our earthly lives.

This is one of Edgar Cayce's greatest legacies.

There's also a tremendous amount of other information besides Cayce's experiences in this earthly realm. Cayce interacted with incarnations of the Christ spirit in some of his past lives as well as with Abraham in the bible and other famous historical figures.

The sceptic will find it hard to believe that one person would have had experiences involving so many significant historical events and so many historical figures. However the reason for this is that Cayce himself is an historical figure and he is a very spiritually oriented person. Often when people like this are reincarnated they reach a level of fame and recognition and they share experiences with similar types of souls.

Not all of Cayce's past life experiences were positive by the way. He was the one who got tricked into letting the Greeks bring the Trojan horse into Troy and then he committed suicide. He hit rock bottom during his two incarnations as the soldier of fortune John Bainbridge, going so far as to use his psychic powers to make money gambling.

At times the Edgar Cayce soul entity had problems in two areas which are problematic for many people; sexuality and a feeling of racial superiority. As the law of kharma says must happen he experienced the negative effects of these things himself in the most heart breaking and brutal ways. Unfortunately the mistakes we make often affect not only ourselves but those we are closest to.

The author indicates that Cayce gave specific dates for the second coming of Christ and Cayce's next incarnation. The year for both of these events is given as 1998.

Since this year has already passed the questions are:

1) have these things happened but we don't realize it yet ?

2) did Cayce really say '98 (as he sometimes did) and mean for example some other year ending in '98' such as 2098 or even 3098 ? (this seems doubtful because the author is an expert on the Cayce readings.)

3) did Cayce really mean 1998 but some other misunderstandings occurred when the readings were recorded or interpreted ?

4) was Cayce wrong about the year for these events ? since he was right very often this is an interersting question.

I don't know the answers to these questions. I did order a book entitled 'Edgar Cayce In Context' which may help with putting Cayce's psychic prophecies into perspective. I haven't received or read this book yet.
